Well... you could always use doubloons. In fact, after a certain point, it's even cheaper to use doubloons. You only lose out for 3-4 sizes...

this is a age long problem, perhaps you should spend more time diving into the arcane knowledge shared in the forum (i.e look thru the older pages) for the solution to get around the problem. Anyways it is already included in the next update...which is a disappointing 2 days of waiting and still waiting. same problem. try putting your email here, u would get more adds than you ever need for all your upgrading needs using silver. add the poorest pirate of them all : [email protected]

Depending on when you added them, those that have reached 50 technically gave the most chests on a per person basis... Seems a bit one sided to now stop giving them chests cuz they won't be leveling until the cap is lifted.
editing?? Is it just me, or was this thread just cut down from upwards of 120 pages down to 84?!! How did that happen.. Also, I just wanted to share this, because no one thought it possible: I actually lost a ship battle today!!! It was hilarious! I looked away as the battle was going on (cuz they are obviously usually the same thing again and again), and when I looked back, the last cannon shots were being fired and the two ships basically ended up killing each other! Kinda like two people pulling the trigger and killing each other at the exact same moment. Only in this case, there apparently was only one loser, and that was me! I had to pay the repair cost, couldn't fight for another 2hrs, and yeah, I full out lost! I didn't think it was possible, especially considering I have 20 cannons and the Level 28 Ironclad ship battle I was fighting only had (I think) 12. It makes no sense, but it was funny. I even could have used a repair kit for the first time, but I wasn't paying attention! Oh well.. But there you go fellow pirates, a loss in a ship battle is therefore conceivable, even when you have the biggest ship in the game and the most cannons possible!
yes your observation is correct, there are some others and myself whom have made spreadsheets tracking the frequency of the 3 chests...over hundreds (maybe thousands) of sample size..the smallest chest does give more gold than the others. Personally no one should be ostracized for being unable to provide for his mates (friends) by reaching the level cap. There is also no choice to give specific players chests since bonus chests should be shared ALWAYS upon leveling up to help everyone out. Scums should be however be highlighted and napalm bombed to let everyone knows the kind of titles given by players they are adding and have been helping till date.
tsk tsk, you never saw the moderator posts eh? he removed all add me request and moved them to the official add me thread which was so dead coz most of us are here. if you are talking about the lv 28 battle, there are at least 14 cannons the guy (machine) is using..ya i am forced to upgrade my ships too as i almost tasted defeat from the huge ramp-up in terms of fighting ability since we are too comfortable with the previous fights. If it were a rare occurence I would understand (anything is possible I guess), but if you're forced to use some kind of battle item in every fight it seems a bit unfair, no? @felicor: he could've been referring to people at level 15 or below, who could rightly be considered noobs... just a thought. It happened to me with the third ship battle once as well. I beat him several times, so once I decided to click battle and watch some tv. I look down and saw that I was defeated lol. And that was with the biggest ship too! The final ship battle is pretty tough, I have to say without using the smoke screen it's a 1/4 that he could beat my ship. Also now that I'm not spending doubloons for leveling anymore, I renovated my boat:

You're obviously spending real money for dubloons, right? How far has someone gotten without spending any money? Ive been playing for about a week now and Im at level 18. Im wondering how long it would take to get to level 50 without spending real money? Also another question. Has anyone unlocked the secret map sections?
