Any of u beside me fans of old school Kung Fu movies?

Who here beside me was at one point I. Time addicted to shaw brothers or golden harvest like the venoms, Jackie Hans stuff like fearless hyena and drunken master, Gordon Liu, etc.? I love the time period and mood these movies always had. The training scenes and accomplishing a challenge the hero always overcame. Kind of like the rpg games we play.

Maybe Gameloft can make the star craft ripoff a real competitive rts

And one that can generate a lot of interest. But like the touch arcade front page article said, its been proven with pure touch controls its hard to make a traditional rts without sacrifices and none really generated much success. So do you guys think it is because most of or fingers are fatter than a mouse cursor and its hard to accurately select units with an emulated mouse icon or pure touch controls it's just also not too accurate due to selection boxes? If so do you guys think the solution could e for game loft to make it for iPad and require the stylus? I mean nintendo ds has done pretty much this and succeeded so why shouldn't game loft? If that's the only option I mean.

Why do you guys think square Enid became

Such a postbox company all the time remaking or porting realllllllly old games to new systems or new portables like the ds, advices, and ESP the psp with almost its entire psp fayalite being ports or remakes? I mean why is it such a respectful company became like this? You don't see heretics porting morrowind to us or a psp do you? Or blizzard porting something that would work real well on the advices like doable 2 do you? So why is square Enid always doing it? Imagine if every company was like that and instead of concentrating on new games they would heavily support underpowered portables every generation more so than new systems. Its like the totally opposite business strategy than activation but I think it actually makes more sense because it takes less effort to port games and costs less making for the advices or the ds than for the 360 or ps3. Oh and I forgot to mention they are also huge and spend a lot of their resources on the Japanese phone market.

(someone correct the title please as my ipad automatically changes Enix to Enid).

Is donut games kinda like game loft of the casual genre?

I mean both companies constantly make tons of games and seem to be both popular and successful. And both make quality products. Nyone agree?

This is why we should be thankful we are Apple not Windows users

And instead of anything goes code Microjunk we have secure Operating Systems sometimes it isn't a bad thing:

    http://busydizzys.com/index.php/2010/12/03/avg-update-causes-windows-7-systems-to-blue-screen-a-reboot

    http://pensacolacomputerhelp.com/wordpress/?p=335

This actually caused my bootcamp windows iMac to force me reformat it. I guess you can blame AVG but fact is for some reason my windows laptops always die every few years after purchase due to viruses or issues like this and not just with AVG. Thats why I stopped playing windows games mostly except some online cause my saved games always die too (I don't feel like backing those up daily thank you).

I still think no matter what ppl say

The production values on most idevice games is incredibly high for the price point. They are often as high as standard ds or psp games that aren't the heavy hitters. Take a recent game like brave heart for example. Just imcredible production values and it's a perfect touch based control mechanism. How many of u ever owned a system that surprised you like this? Actually, even the amount of worknand production EA Mobile puts it's recent games is really a lot more than they have to.

Ic u pc gamers want a hardcore pc style experice on the app store

Check out the online flight sim (ww2) skies of glry. I just got this game and it is hyper competitive online where after like 5 games i still didnt get a kill. Thats hardcore gaming for u. Oh and ive played it on e ipad 2x so it must be even harder on the iphone tiny screen to get kills. This and samurai 2 on hard mode so far define the genre of non casual friendly games imo.

What i find real hypocrytical about these traditional gamers who refuse to evolve their tastes is that before the app store took off in the early psp era they would praise sega and beg them to release ports like crazy taxi and that fighting dreamcast game powerstone. But when anyone takes a remote look at the app store the ipad and iphone, gameloft has done it too and without any recognition or praise for it, with titles like rayman 2, earthworm jimm, driver, prince of persia, etc. So if they look they can have their hardcore or real gamer fiz at least on the ipad and its nice large display. Also, on gamwfaqs theg were begging capxom to make a street fighter 4 and resident evil port and devil may cry which all got announced and cancelled or never came out.

Why do so many devs co strsin themselves by making flash gsmes for the app store?

I recwntly started playing further into braveheaet and realized everything aout it seems like instead of bei g tailor made for the touch devices it plays like a flas game. The graphics and non interactive backgrounds and the brighteness and style of graphics all seem like flash gsme style. And it has no free roam only going from one level to the next like an action game not rpg. And im guessing this isnt the dev designing it that way but having to make it like that due to te flash game mskng program constraints? Its been proven the hardware can handle real gmes like look at aralon, or even real rpgs. Sure we havent seen intersctive or destructable environments but i think there is a reason those gamers on kotaku, ign, etc. Still call most of our games glorified flash games or inferior to the other portables. When will this change? And why havent we even seen a game with destructable environments from even ea or capcom?

I bet Gameloft could port the real Witcher

Instead of porting that browswr based version Atari should justoutsource the engine to Gsmeloft snd theyll port the whole freaking game probably. What do you guys think would it work?

    What's up with Painkiller

Why was it pulled and still is staying pulled? I mean wasn't it mass by some big respectable company or audio and even hyped on ign. This shows the respect the big-dog devs have for the device when they make worse sovelware than even the app store allows for lol.

It's funny how you are the only one who has posted in this thread. Obviously your ideals are not getting through to others. I, for one, agree with you on some points.

I could be wrong about this, but I think the mods are just putting all his random posts in here for a laugh.

This guy has way too much to say.

I just "laughed out loud" in the library and still laughing over this. People are now staring at me  It was pretty funny what LBG and ImNoSuperMan posted. Not a good thing since I have my last final at 2:00.

Just because a game is not made vy big studio devs doesnt mean it has to be casual

Take super meat boy for example made by a dev studio consisting of like 2 people. It is incredibly xhallenging, addicting and wuite long with a lot of depth. And if you know anything about pc indy gaming check out wtuff like mount and blade (made by a dev studio consisting of s turkish married couple). Or better yet, check out Black Shark. This is the most hardcore and complex game of recent few years on any system, done by independent developer. Completely self-funded and self-published. A very large portion of indie pc games are hardcore. That's one of the main boons of indie pc gaming, it has grown so much that an indie dev can make a hardcore niche pc game and still be profitable.

Reading that wargaming thread posted here recently depressed me:http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=76444

All these board or simple games and nothing coming close to hearts of iron 3 at all and a bunch of tower defense games. Also, a bunch were released since tne thread began and whats sad is they are praised by you guys. Stuff like World in War, Distant Star, european war, risk, viking Lord, Forces of War, Rouge Planet, Slay arent hardcore at all nor would even be conidered by px gamers. Maybe ds gamers, whonprefer simplified age of empires and might of magic games and are just as casual, but im not even sure if psp gamers would buy or play these casual titles trying to be hardcore.

Ascendency -- http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1025300 which is coming -- and heroes of might and magic 2 -- iheroes -- are fun (ascendency hasnt been submitted yet i dont think anyway and iheroes has no campaign), but you won't really convice many PC gamers by presenting ports of 14 years old PC titles that there is nything worth investing into or trying on even the iPad.

I know it's hard to imagine for iDevice user, because you've been swamped by incredibly shallow and short casual games and the only deep games you get are old ports from other systems, but on PC indie devs regularly make long deep hardcore titles.
