Could you please explain how the power-ups work in the next beta, because I don't really understand all of them or how to use them..
    Thanks:)

Can you guys release it on Christmas instead of mid January? Based on the beta feedbacks I'm hearing from the testers, the game is fun to play and solid. I don't think you guys have to wait until mid Jan. to release this game...

I haven't gotten to play as much as I'd like too, but I'm pretty sure the blue one (helmet thing) is a shield, the green one's a concussive/damaging blast that doesn't seem effective at all, the purple one looks like invincibility but I'm pretty sure I take damage when it's on, the orange one its an electrical current that zaps multiple enemies when you swim by them, and I'm pretty sure there's a second blue one that gives you big fins but I don't know what they do either (seems like another invincibility one).

Maybe the big fin one should be invincibility and the the purple one should attract bulbies to you when you swim near by.

I'd also like for there to be a health power up. That would be very much appreciated. Starting over is starting to become more and more annoying since the incentive drops drastically IMO, unless you're really going for the high score each time.

I also feel like in the later levels dealing with the bigger and faster enemies is more of a hassle then fun. I will be letting my little sister (10) play a bit later today and see how she fares.

For as far as I noticed, this is what the power-ups do:
-green circle: makes all the enemies that followed you turn away
-blue circle: freezes enemies that are touched by your bulbies. You can smash them with your tail or head or finish them of with your bulbies.
    - yellow/red circle: zaps enemies that are close to an enemy touched by your bulbies.
-purple circle: when touching an enemy with your bulbies, little orbs scatter. These orbs damage enemies.
-red heart: gives you 1 extra life
-blue flower: 1 hit is absorbed, in other words, you can get hit 1 time before losing a life.

For as far as I've noticed, there are no invincibility power-ups.
It's just my observation though, could be wrong.

    @yvcgamer Thanks man!

green circle - okay so it makes them turn away instead of stunning them; wasn't sure

blue circle - meh...not a fan of that then

the orange one - I didn't think it needed the bulbies in order to zap them hmm...

red heart - still haven't seen any of those. I guess you have to get pretty far.

blue one - yeah gives you the bubble helmet

An invincibility one and one that attracts the bulbies would be awesome IMO.

Again thanks! I really wasn't sure about the blue and purple circles. The green one makes more sense now too.

The blue freezing circle is amazing. It is definitely one of the more useful power-ups if used correctly.

Once the enemies are frozen, you can crash into them and smash them, building up pretty sweet combos once there are more enemies.

    Now, 2 questions:

First, since I don't have my iPhone, am I still on top of the leaderboards?
Second, has anyone else made it to the hive?

It really is a shame that this game won't be released this year, it would definitely be on my GOTY list pretty near the top.

Can you crash into them head first?

Your second by about 400,000 points

Hmm... :D It's only pretty good right now IMO. I might be too picky lol. Also, I keep comparing it to other games in the back of my head

Yup, that's the beauty of it. Also you can crash into the big round things without damage too.

Nooooo... Bugger. I don't even have my phone anymore, otherwise I would've beaten a mil by now. :(
    Is the top 900,000? =/

I just loved the game... Pretty sure I played pretty much nothing else since I got it. ^^

Ah ok! I've been pretty much trying to avoid hitting anything head first lol. So, this is good to know.

I'm not really afforded the luxury to play games as long as I want to. :( I got a little addicted to Bug Princess and now I'm playing some major catch up on other things.

Also, I think if there were more health pick ups (obviously, not a ton more) and some customization, I'd be super into this. But as I said, it's still a good game! The design is super. :D

All the pick ups are randomly generated on-the-fly. i.e. you can fly past an area, turn around 8 seconds later and there will be a power-up there.

This follows a certain algorithm, but the pick-ups are not static. The problem with that is, you cannot "fish" for power-ups as more and more enemies will spawn all the time, making it not worth the risk.

Is there any hope this would run on a 2g iPod? I wonder if I'll still have time to beat the high score again...

Power ups aren't static! I never seem to get what I want, but the reason why they're not you mentioned makes complete sense. How frequent are health p-ups in the later zones?

At a guess, I'd say about 1/5th of the spawn rate of others is what I encountered. That is for 5 of EVERY other power up I encounter I get a health. They're pretty rare, but I'm pretty good at avoiding damage.

Except that blue boss that zaps you. I hate that guy and just escape the zone when he appears.

Unfortunately no, but if there's alot of request after launch, we'll make a version for 2nd gen :)

There are 4 people who have reached the hive :)
Do you have any feedback on the hive gameplay Echoseven? Please pm me if you do.

Oh and one more thing. Beta will end by the end of this week, 23 Dec 5:00 pm (GMT+8). 10 people who've reached the hive and gave good feedback on the game will get $15 iTunes giftcard as stated on first page. Also, highest scorer will also get an iTunes giftcard. I think. Not sure yet. ;)

Next build will be in 7 hours time. Mostly fix crash bug.

Is there any way you can add the ability to change the "mood" of the bulbies that follow you? Maybe like "aggressive" or "calm". This would make them follow you differently, or attack more rapidly.

That's okay, I was just wondering if I could play on my old iPod (while my iPhone is gone) to get back on top of the leaderboards. (That other person that beat me is mean. :()

I'll send a PM right after this post~

Is the person who beat me a tester or one of you guys?

Also will the update fix the bug where
collecting 150 bulbies crashes the game?
