    Update is live!

    Yes, the update is finally live, we hope this fixes the main issues!

    I have gotten also private messages about the save system being frustrating, this is a bit more complicated but we will be looking at it as well. It seems the main issue is if you have any problems around the shadow boss area and have to restart the app or go back, the last save is too far back. We can see if we can put one save point after you get your special weapon (shield/sword), and one before and one after the shadow boss.

    Still about the save system, we have also some bugs in chapters 3 and 4 that we are fixing so we cannot promise a robust save system for now. But it would be great to hear from you what kind of save system you'd prefer, so we know we chose one that fits your needs when we finally get to that.

    We are submitting another update today or tomorrow and will be continuously keep sending weekly updates to our best ability, so please continue sharing your concerns with us, it really helps us know what are the most pressing issues to focus on.

    Thanks for the update.

    Of course, as far as a save system, I think almost everyone would probably prefer the option to save anywhere being a mobile game.

    If that's not possible then just more frequent auto saves, especially directly before bosses.

    With bug fixes still coming for chapters 3 and 4, I will probably put this to the side for a while longer since updates of really large games like this (> 1 GB) are kind of a pain when you have limited space.

    I'd say not deep. It's a combination of a comic book structure with turn based QTE battles. I haven't played much since I was waiting for the updates, but I don't think there are deep skill trees or anything of that sort.

    Not saying that's bad at all. It's fun for what it is (or will be when the bugs are all ironed out).

    Agreed on the save issue. Would be optimal to just save whenever but whatever.

    Hey devs
    I see that the gem issue is resolved I get my gems now.

    But it seems the issue of the game freezing is not fixed. I restarted the game and was at the pipe quest and the game froze after I completed a pacifist fight... Grrrrr

    We are aware this is happening in some devices, and it doesn't happen always or to every user. We are about to submit an update, and we will look into this problem, however if you can give us some more info, that would be really helpful for us to spot the very issue you're talking about. (By pipe quest, do you mean the issue happened in the battle at the top room? If so, we will test it but it seems this issue has been solved already. We will let you know. Thank you!

    EDIT: it was a tough one, but we found it and it has been fixed! Will come in the next update which we will send tomorrow. We are truly sorry for this bump in your experience! (and we are working towards it not happening again :)

    As far as I can tell the update did away with the most annoying bug - Not being able to access the second chapter (at least the lock symbols dissapeared after I've tapped on them. Unfortunately can't access the next chapter yet because I deleted and reinstalled the (previous version of the) game in the hope that would help solving the chapter bug. Seems to be no cloud saving though so had to start all over again.

    The gem issue is also solved (alas only for new fights, the earned gems from fights before applying the update don't get added retroactively).

    Unfortunately the bug with the cloned slimes still persists. Often when slimes clone themselves the game gets stuck when the last one is beaten (see attached photo) and you've got no choice than to restart and start from the last checkpoint again.

    This happened twice yet again in the first adventure mode and after I'd also completed this chapter (before reinstall) already I'm getting really tired of being set back to the same checkpoint. Now for the third time in this playthrough (if the game at least saved a little more frequently this wouldn't be that bothersome).

    I may also submit a bug report but not sure if I even have the patience to give it another try just hoping at every fight that the slimes won't duplicate, game gets stuck and gotta start all over again. That's just getting too tiresome over time.

    Ok tried a third (and last) time ... Fight didn't end again after enemies have been beaten (same encounter as before)

    Discovered that you can interact with the environment though after the enemies are "dead" so the game obviously thinks the fight is over, just doesn't load the next screen.

    No patience for this anymore, deleting the game for the time being (hopefully all of the bugs are fixed in a few months) - Won't try a fourth time from the same checkpoint. Update obviously only solved a part of those enervating issues ...

    So I'm guessing from the last few posts that there are still some possible game breaking bugs. Might wait for another update or two to start playing.

    Would advise that. The two most blatant bugs are apparently fixed but the slime encounter bug mentioned above seems to be worse after the update ("only" had that issue twice in my first playthrough in two different encounters, now I can't go on cause it happened three times in a row).

    Also - as I coudn't progress - no idea if the other freezes/crashes and the skill issue ("learning" "new" skills already in your repertoire, having the same skill uselessly twice or even skills disappearing from one enemy encounter to the next) are really solved.

    There's a new update. 1.1.1 apparently fixes all the bugs.
    This is a fun game.. But it's hard to play on a mobile coz of the lack of instant save. Frustrating to keep replaying.

    Yeah, I want to give a shoutout to the light Devs for keeping their chin up and being present in the forums. I've seen other Devs disappear into a hole when there is a bit of criticism. If save anywhere is a programming monster, I would be happy with more saves and having the option to go back to the last, or 2nd to last save...because if you get crushed in a boss fight you might think you need to make a different choice with a skill or gem purchase, etc. but having a pre-boss save would be great. I don't know what kind of adjustments have been made but...because you can't grind at all, I find the bosses are had to muscle over. Face them once and learn what they can do, but get killed, and try again :)

    So your comments are still very helpful. We will try to improve the save system now -- the new code is in place, we just need to put the save points in more frequent places.

    What we would need to know now is if anyone got to chapters 2-4 and what they thought of it, if there are any bugs, etc. That would be very helpful. Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hey iggynore, I haven't purchased your game but I will be. Post holidays I'm a little broke. I'm trying to support as many of former Bulkypix games as they are returned to the proper owners and I'm happy to see another dev has regained their IP.

    I'm also very pleased with the way you are dealing with previous purchases and early adopters. Most impressive.

    Also the game looks really cool. I'm not really into gamebooks but your comic gamebook has me interested.
