I was curious to see how long I could continue with Ipad mini and playing the current crop of games. It's about now, and the minimum has been raised to at least Ipad mini 2/iPhone 5/iPad 3 for more of the current crop of games. So release in November 2012, allow around 6 months for a person to pick up the modern technology. That's around 3 and a bit years. Not bad.
