Suggestion #1 (Day 1) I think adding a separate menu for all the Hints found in the game would be nice. This will help players more on learning about the game. I think it is better to have a description on each locked tower on how to unlock it. Like when does this tower gets unlocked if your touch that tower. Before upgrading a tower, hope it shows what will be added or how many points will be added to my Tower's Power, Speed and Range. Like it shows a before and after bar before you upgrade a tower. This will help players to think if that upgrade will be necessary or just save up coins Gold coins for other things/upgrade. I also think it is better when playing a level, pressing the X button will also show the Quest for that said level. Bug #2 When I go to the Lich's menu and clicked on any part there (Using Scroll, Skill or Item) to open up the buy menu screen, scrolling through the list of items is having a delay/lag or unresponsiveness. There will be a 1-2 secs delay before you can browse up and down to the list of items you can buy there. Translation Errors #2 Correct: Fires a deadly laser straightaway that hits every enemies on death ray's range. Correct: Hits all enemies in range and ignoring enemy's defense type. Can only exist in one stage. (Underlined words: Does this tower only exist in one stage or you can only build one per stage?) Correct: All towers in Obelisk's range will gain additional damage. Correct: Price is the same for Summon/Unsummon. Gain more MP when an enemy was killed in tower's range. Correct: Slows an enemy when hit. Can lock up an enemy in ice from time to time. Correct: - Slows target enemy with freeze - Can lock up enemy in ice from time to time - Can only lock up ground enemies Correct: POW: Increases Lich's Attack HP: Increases vitality to cast your skills more often. MP: Raises the starting amount of MP. Also reinforces the power of your skills. Correct: Remaining Points (Or Remaining Point/s) Correct: Clear the stage with less than 80% HP Correct: Don't summon a tower until you've cleared the 1st wave Game over at the 21st wave Correct: Upgrade towers more than 15 times before clearing the game Play the game at twice the speed until the end
Day 1 Comment 1 Spelling mistakes Gamecenter: Medow instead of Meadow Help Menu: 2/7 Price for sale instead of sell 2/7 Price for reinforcement instead of reinforce 4/7 Unable? Disabled 4/7 Cooldown instead of Cooltime Meadow Quests 1. Summon less than 7 tower (towers) 2. Clear all the waves until the 400 seconds (before 400 seconds? Last until 400 seconds?) 3. Summon less than 10 tower (towers) 6. Destroy more than 5 building (buildings) Summon less than 13 tower (towers) Notification Center Can be pulled from the sides instead of on top of screen? Should have confirmation when you want to destroy a tower.
Day 1 Post#2 When changing tabs in shop, all screen splashes with black for a moment. I think shop menu must be optimized.
Unfortunately I'm gonna have to correct you again there.. It should be " Fires a deadly laser straightaway that hits every enemy in the death ray's range"
Day 1 Post#3 Simple HEX save-editing.... You should improve anticheat defences (encrypt saves) Also there's a bug that huge amount of gold doesn't decrease visually.
Thanks for including me in the beta test. Installation I have no problem with download and installation. In case anyone has trouble, just download to desktop. Unzip and drag the provision file and SKDefence file into iTunes. Then choose Lich Defense for device sync and it should get installed. English localization I understand that English descriptions can be brushed up a bit throughout the game. I have a few suggestions with the Upgrade page. Tower Living Armor - Effective against all enemy types. Rapider Driller - Hit multiple targets simultaneously with enormous damage, can't hit flying enemies. Rocketeer Anti-Air Charger DeathRay - Fires deadly laser, killing all enemies in its line. Fire Hand - Target sustains continuous damage with fire, causing an explosion when enemy is killed. Ice Berg - Slows an enemy by freezing, will lock up an enemy in ice from time to time. Sour Stealer Obelisk - Increases towers' damage within obelisk's range. Lich Shop Record [consider change it to Stats] What I have learned so far 1. Lich is the big guy you are defending. He can attack enemies. There are specific achievements related to whether he was needed to kill enemies. 2. Level up your units and buy Skill items in the shop.
Day 1 Post#4 There's a typo in tower upgrade menu. The tower's name Sour Stealer is not correct. It must be Soul Stealer. I understood this because I've read in tips smth like "use soul stealer for..."
There are several translation problems but one important one is the game center banner that says LICH DEFENSE...under it says medow and I believe you meant to say MEADOW?
More Bug: The Tower's Level is barely readable after using a Revive when your Lich was killed. You can see the Tower's level like in the screenshot above but it is barely readable or in grey color. I've tried this again on another map by paying 400 Jelly to resurrect my Lich and ended up with the same barely unreadable Tower's level. UPDATE: Using S-Revive also triggers the almost unreadable Tower's Level text. The screenshot below is taken after using a S-Revive after my Lich was killed. More suggestions: Hope you can add an ability to load your progress to another iDevice. So players can continue their progress to another iDevice without a problem. Add like an iCloud Saving support or something like that. I think adding an option to tweet or share your progress of achievements can be really helpful to promote this game. Like you can post or tweet your Level Completion with Rank (Like Rank F-S) on your Twitter and Facebook. Also, adding a link to the app would be really helpful together with those post. Hope to see an Achievements section soon. Completing or getting these achievements will reward you with Gold or Jewels. Achievements like Clear the Meadow Campaign, Clear the Meadow Campaign with Rank S on all Levels, etc.. Hope to see an online Leaderboard too. The Leaderboard will be based on how many S ranks has been received since I do not see a scoring system in the game. More translation errors: Correct: Regen units can recover their HP when not being attacked. Correct: If you summon a soulstealer at the right place, you can earn lots of extra MP. Correct: The soulstealer has the same price for summon/unsummon. You should sell them at critical moments. Correct: You can experience lots of playstyle by upgrading your Lich. or You can experience lots of playstyle by equipping your Lich with different items, skills and scroll. Correct: Recovery - Restores 40 HP Twist Space - Units runs backward Harvest Night - 55% chance killing an enemy (55% chance killing an enemy instantly) I think the text should be scrolling so longer description can fit. Correct: Try's Right Hand - Decreases enemies HP by 30% Odin's Pupil - Increases rate of tower's fatal blows by 25% Correct: Hellfire - Decreases enemies HP by 75% for 10 secs. Blizzard - 10 secs of Freezing Effect Reaper's Bless - Increases Tower DMG by 30% Correct: Summoner's Book - Reduces Tower Cost by 10% Cater's mystery - Reduces Skill cost by 15% Correct: Caster's Robe - Reduces cooltime by 15% Reduces skill cost by 10% Master's Robe - Increases Tower's Attack by 15% (Increases Tower's ATK by 15%) Increases Tower's Attack Speed by 5% (Increases Tower's ATK SPD by 5%) Correct: - Deals high damage for multiple units - Hit every enemy on Death Ray's line Frozen Campaign Translation Errors Correct: Clear the stage with more than 300 remaining MP Don't destroy more than 6 buildings Correct: Don't summon a tower until you've cleared the 3rd wave Clear all the waves for 600 seconds Summon more than 10 towers Correct: Kill more than 40 units by Lich's attack Summon less than 10 towers Sell more than 5 towers Correct: Don't upgrade towers more than 80 times before clearing the game Kill more than 5 units from a tower's single shot Don't summon a tower until you've cleared the 3rd wave Correct: Don't destroy more than 9 buildings Play the game at twice the speed until the end Game over at the 23rd wave (I don't understand how this work lol.) Correct: Summon more than 15 towers Sell more than 5 towers Clear the stage with more than 500 remaining MP Correct: Summon less than 5 types of tower Clear the stage with more than 900 remaining MP Upgrade towers more than 30 times before clearing the game
Day #1 Post #1 Thanks for including me in the beta Installation was successful but game crashes at the "Loading @" screen. Please use the following Dropbox link to download my Console Log https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6609047/wilflare.LichDefense.Consolelog.11072012.txt Suggestions for Beta Testing (1) Use testflight - www.testflightapp.com - This should resolve most of the installation issues that testers are currently facing. It should make it easier for the team to manage the different builds and many different users. (2) Use Dropbox - www.dropbox.com - Should the team decide to not use testflight, the team can consider creating a Shared Dropbox folder to distribute builds. The Shared Dropbox folder can also have specific folders for "Console/Crash logs" or "Typos and Translation issues", etc. All the uploaded files should follow a strict naming convention, e.g. PlayerName.DDMMYYYY.txt Really hope the crash issue is resolved so I can participate in the beta more.
The undead theme is a favorite of mine but the artwork here feels uncomfortably stale and overly familar. One of Elf Defenses' biggest draws for me was it's engaging and colorful graphics with blocky botanical elves that felt fresh. Granted using fantasy conventions requires some level of familiarity but here the graphic homages are not unique enough to carry on the tradition of quality imagery set by Elf Defense or to make Lich Defense standout in the all important screenshot appeal. Elf Defense on the contrary is a perfect example of using something classic likes Elves in a way that looks new/unique. For example, this design was cool in Warcraft 3 but the decorative headgear and robes in Lich Defense appear to mimic this too much: The bobble head soldier units look like something out of a Triniti Interactive game (a studio known for sloppy generic knock-offs), for example:
Are we allowed to publically post screenshots of beta projects? Either way scrolling through long lists of screenshots cataloging translation mistakes is cramping the thread.
DAY 1 #2 More Script Errors: New Tower Rapider "Powerful Critical Hit since Level 4" New Tower Ice Berg It's too wide to show the description within the blank. - Slows target enemies with freezing. - Lock up enemies in ice from time to time - Only ground enemies can be locked up in ice Game Center Meadow It appears to be Medow instead of Meadow. Quest in Campaign 4 in Meadow Clear the stage with less than 80% HP Quest in Campaign 5 in Meadow Destroy more than 5 buildings Summon fewer than 13 towers Quest in Campaign 6 in Meadow Kill more than 30 units by Lich's attack Summon more than 10 towers Quest in Campaign 7 in Meadow Destroy more than 8 buildings Quest in Campaign 8 in Meadow Don't summon a tower until clearing the 1st wave Game Over at the 21st wave Quest in Campaign 9 in Meadow Upgrade towers more than 15(space)times before clearing the game Summon fewer than 15 towers Quest in Campaign 10 in Meadow Summon more than 10 towers
I'm having some trouble downloading it but I'll get it later today. Just need a better connection. I definitely second using TestFlight in the future...
Day #1 Post #2 More Suggestions (1) Async Multiplayer (Shadows?) - I think most of us can recall how challenging a Tower Defense game can get. With "Shadows", players can record and share their playthrough via a code. To use the code, the player has to input the code at the start of the level. Upon the entry, the shadow (of the player who shared the code) will be shown on the level. Weaker players can choose to follow the shadow player to learn how to clear the level. Players who want a challenge can, in a way, pit themselves against the shadow player and try to beat its highscore. This would definitely help, in a more novel manner, than the typical hints system. (2) Ideas on Contests/Marketing - Following up on undeadcow's post on the art direction, the team can consider creating the following contests (2a) "Design Your Lich King" Competition - Ask testers/community to submit their designs. The community will vote for their favorite design. The team will pick their favorite too. Winners of both category to receive a Giftcard and/or have their design implemented in the game? (2b) "Kill the Lich King" Twitter Contest - To help generate some buzz on Social Media, the team can consider having random contests on Twitter/Facebook. Basically, the team can post up a picture of the Lich King. In order for the community to kill it, they will have to Retweet/Like/Share/Cover Photo the post/picture that has a link to the promo thread for the game. The Lich King can take up to perhaps 250 Likes/RTs/Shares to kill? But with all the RTing/Sharing/Liking, it will definitely catch the eye of others!
