He's going to convieniently ignore it. Errr sorry I meant he is conviniently ignoring it. Now he'll prolly google it.
What are you talking about? Liberals have always been progressive, wanting change (true, this isn't always a good thing) but that is what liberals are. Also, the word "liberal" literally means: "tolerant, generosity or willingness to give in large amounts, favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious reforms" I got these quotes from dictionary.com, so you can cross check it if you want. And yes, being liberal can be a bad thing, like how Lenin changed the Russian government to Communism. But our country was founded by liberals, they wanted to be free from Britain, which required change, and that is the definition of liberalism. Also, from what you said, "Conservatives mean exactly how it sounds now, relaxed, less likely to pass any new domestic laws without strong facts or logic." Conservatives are not "relaxed" or have strong facts or logic to back up anything. Most of the conservative news feeds are playing on people's emotions with little to no evidence to back up their claims, but expect people to follow blindly like sheep. Also, you can't change the meaning of a word. If the political parties reversed, which I don't believe they did, it would mean that the Republicans are liberal and the Democrats are conservative.
Freedog, You're thinking of democrats vs. republicans not liberals vs. conservatives. Libs vs. consv. has never changed. But yes dems vs. repubilcans have switched roles. Democrats in the 1800s were conservatives. Repubclians were liberal. Oh and did you know that those conservatives supported slavery? Funny, I don't see the logic in that
Where the government controls payrolls, jobs, the economy and more. There. I'm 13 and I know that. Radio helps y'know.
I like that people are like "socialism is so bad" but in reality Sweden, which has socialized medicine, is one of the happiest countries in the world.
I agree, I hate how people have demonized it. I personally believe capitalism is much much better, but incorporating socialist ideas, which has already been done, isn't a bad thing. I also want to get religion into this debate, Freedog, how does religion support conservative ideals?
I agree 100% capitalism with socialist ideals is very effective and a good way to run a country On a side note it's kinda funny how freedog is the only conservatie here
He doesn't believe that religion has anything to do with politics. He IS a conservative and they ARE logical
The only gun law that makes sense is the Gun Act of '68, barring felons from legally buying guns and the law requiring a background check on people to make sure they aren't felons. (Yet felons are still getting them, ILLEGALLY. In other words Dave, criminals don't care about gun control because they don't listen to the law anyway) I disagree with all the federal and state laws beyond that, such as disqualifications for minor misdemeanors, infractions. That's just my personal opinion, the only one that makes sense to me is the ban on felons, the only one that most people have no problem with. Tell me Dave, why are you so obsessed with your wish for gun registration? Most Americans don't want it, doesn't that tell you something? What would it solve? <--You can't answer this question. Criminals don't get their guns legally anyway, do you really think they are going to register the ones THEY OWN ILLEGALLY?Nooo. So what are your real motives for wanting the registration then? It sounds like you desperately want the government to control and snoop on lawful gun owners. What is it you want to do.. sit behind your computer type a few keys and say "hey look, Mrs. Smith at 22 Main St owns a Colt .45! Heehee. SO WHAT. What's the point? Is she breaking a law with the gun sitting in her cabinet? Or are you just sick in the head scared on the assumption that she "might" do something wrong someday because of your paranoa? There is already a training and permit process to obtaining handguns, don't you think the states keep a file of who has their permits? duh. lol Dave if you or any liberal don't want to own a gun nobody has a gun to your head forcing you to. But you are trying to say that you feel you have a right to know who has a gun, why they have one, where they have one, when they bought it...and that maybe they shouldn't have one for no other reason than that you're scared they might do something someday just because its there. Get real. You don't decide for other people. Focus on yourself. That's the beauty of America, each individual gets to choose if they want to own one and if they want to register, not you, not Hillary, not the government. And most Americans don't want to register for a strong reason or it would have been pushed into law already. The main reason why the 2nd amendment was written was to ensure the citizens the right to own guns for protection of their freedom from a tyrannical government, including their own.
wow awesome up to 200 replies in this thread. see i knew this was a good idea lots of opinions, quotes, heated discussions, some personal jabs and clever sarcasm...good stuff guys! keep it up!! also i do not believe discussions/debating/arguing on forums is a waste of time yes you cant always change a persons opinion but keep in mind the more a person argues their own opinion the more they have to actually think about it (ding!), consider what to write, how to write it, articulate their thoughts into words, its a wonderful way to gain more self awareness. You cant change their minds but the more you argue with someone the more enlightened they become to their OWN opinion not just the opinions of others. Its not something that happens over night, it takes time... lots of time but being exposed to people with different opinions is always a good thing. just some food for thought oh and feel free to discuss this with your neighbors, and community, classmates, friends and family. conversations are crucial (especially now) so talk to ppl about it... don't be shy, chances are they feel the same way you do as far as my view on the subject..... this whole left vs right or dems vs repub is an illusion since politics IMO is kinda like wrestling in a way (although im not an expert on the subject). Its all just a show... when the politicians are on capital hill, having debates or on the campaign trail they make a scene and sell the public on this or that, or they act like they have different views then their opponents, different stances on policies, but behind closed doors they are all just colleagues (sometimes even friends). In the real world politicians are like resource managers (in a way) trying to shuffle through policies based on budgets, priorities, resources ect. Obviously they are going to weigh in on policies that benefit the interests of their career (popularity, money, fame influence ect), and their supporters (corporate donations, organizations, institutions ect) as well and its all about getting through legislation with as little friction as possible.... Theres no hidden agendas, no conspiracy theories and even though the whole show may be stagged (to some extent) whereby politicians/cabinet members traverse a fine line between the private sector (CEOs, board members, stock holders) one year and politics the next, there is still this amazing document called the constitution (state and federal) as well as check and balances built into the system that should keep everything in check as long as 'we the people' ensure our government sticks to the clearly defined guidelines within the constitutions. The constitution is party neutral, theres no left or right to it, in other words it is what it is, the rules are what they are and its our responsibility to make sure our government abides by them... period or everything our founding fathers fought for would be for nothing.... however for this to work the people (thats us) need to be: -well informed -actually care about whats going on in.... REALITY -trust the constitution not the politicians -and we really need to do something about media consolidation asap as for the healthcare bill i for one thought it would be a good idea when i first heard about it, you know to stick it to the corrupt insurance companies and for once have good quality healthcare (its not provided by my employer and i cant afford it atm) and i assumed the bottom line was all about giving ppl more access to quality healthcare who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it (thats me and my family) but something is suspicious because the republicans are absolutely unanimously freaking out about it. now i wonder why that is maybe its because: -A... they want to make it look like a bad idea because they are trying to stick up for their health insurance supporters -or B they want to make it look like bad idea so the democrats don't get credit for it and become adored by the people -or C their is some real legitimate flaws in the proposed bill - or D a combination of the above that's something that i would immediately look into if i was you and the only way to find that out is to look at the bill and consider the proposals, consider both sides of the argument, check out who each representatives supporters well the ones that are disclosed to the public anyways, and do your own research (not just watching the news) as for guns i think there was a brief argument about guns somewhere in this thread.... they are tools designed to do one thing... kill and depending on the context they can be used to murder innocent ppl, or used to protect your family from a threat, maybe even used to feed your family, but bottom line its a tool nothing more nothing less.... as far as the economy... its a pyramid scheme and will be a pyramid scheme until our nation can AT LEAST print our own money. if we continue to borrow money from a private bank (which we cant regulate, audit or revise) the whole concept is rather pointless dont you think.... i also think the monetary system itself (even if it was implemented like it was originally designed) is becoming more and more outdated and will continue to be at odds with our level of technology & distribution. in this day and age resource optimization and open/free access should take priority over resource ownership. random quote: those who have will always control those who have not...
um is it because you're an ignorant little boy liberal who doesn't know anything that you have to shout out 2nd grade insults at people you and your mommy disagree with?
This is exactly what I was talking about, no facts. Just appealing to peoples' emotions. To be fair I do think that we should have less gun control laws, they're just so damn fun to shoot...
Hahahahhahahha nice one hypocrite I'd like you to go back and answer 100% of our questions and comments. Not the 10% you think you're knowledgeable about.
He's like a little chihuahua barking second grade insults. lol Look little shiz, if you don't like guns, don't own em. That simple. You don't need to act fake because you know I'm not liberal like you.
I've answered everything asked. Either you don't know how to read yet or your brain can't comprehend.
