Gravitar? Lunar Lander? Star Castle? Levitar was inspired by those very games. Thrust your ship and avoid colliding with the terrain. Use your tractor beam to pick up fuel pods and spheroids and transport them to the landing pad. Using a special seeded algorithm, each level is guaranteed to be different. For each mission your ship holds only 5 minutes of oxygen. Complete each mission before your oxygen runs out. Upgrade your ship weapons by destroying reactors, which drop weapon pods, and then transporting the weapon pod to the landing pad. Weapon upgrades: - rear projectiles - dual projectiles - laser beams - Star Castle shield - death blossom - static gun Collect fuel pods to gain more fuel. Collect spheroids to gain more oxygen. Running out of fuel or oxygen ends the game. How far can you make it? I was concerned about the tilt controls on an iPad Pro, but they worked fine. It does harken back to the games that are its inspiration. The IAP is for credits that you can use in the store on fuel, ships, double credits, etc. You can get a million for $3.99, so it's not the worst priced consumables I've seen in a game. That said, I don't know if purchases carry over to other devices (assume not since they are consumable credits) and I don' t know if the things you buy in the store are permanent unlocks or not – meaning, if I buy the Rear Cannon for 20,000 credits do I have it for all ships from then on, or that one ship until I crash it? I also don't know if there are ads, since I only played the one level. There isn't an option to watch ads for credits, so I'm hoping not. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,972 722 113 England #3 psj3809, Jun 25, 2020 Ahh bugger tilt controls. Deleted Saying that I seem to have a download of the second game on my phone so I’ll try that again Some small text on my iPhone XS graphics are tiny. Initial menu screen looks very busy. Sorry ! Still after that ultimate Thrust game. Weapons purchased remain equipped for all ships until the game is over which occurs if you have no more ships, run out of fuel or run out of oxygen. I think tilt controls work surprisingly well for this type of game and I’m not a fan of buttons on a touch screen because you cannot feel them, however, if you have a MFi game pad that will also work If you crash all of your ships you can continue your game if you (1) have enough credits to buy more ships (50,000) or (2) you can buy credits (0.99 IAP) and then buy more ships to continue. Additionally there are a couple ways to get free ships: (1) every 1,000,000 points and (2) destroying the reactor on Reactor and Boss levels. By the way this is also how you get the weapon upgrades too, destroying reactors will drop a weapon pod. Transporting that to the landing pad will equip the weapon (so you don’t necessarily have to spend credits on weapon upgrades). Fuel is earned by transporting fuel pods to the landing pad and you can extend your oxygen supply in each level by transporting spheroids to the landing pad. Credits are earned based on how much oxygen you have left when you finish a level. So the quicker you finish, the more oxygen you have, and the more credits you earn. I tried to tune the game so that if you’re good you can just play the game for a long time (forever?) without IAPs. Weapons and credits do not carry over to other devices but I’ll see if I can add this in. Les Collin and Anotherkellydown like this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
