The engine isn't a great example of what can be done on any platform anyway, at times it looks decent but it's decidedly average looking really. The tweaked settings obviously look better (although some things just looked wrong) but they still don't match the original E3 reveal target.

People using it as a graphics gauge need to check out other games.

I am going to start Saints Row - The Third today. Saints Row IV after that.
Still need to finish that Dark Souls PTD dlc, tho.

I don't know the main theory floating around is Sony paid them to as why else would they hide all the stuff they worked on most of the reports claim the hidden effects actually improve the game performance on PC's.

My own theory is it's some kind of business plan by Ubisoft themselves to make consoles look better and solely so they can advertise things like Farcry 4 being the same as the PC version which basically means they are actively gimping PC versions just for advertising purposes.

Heres a video might explain the whole situation in more depth than I can I basically just noticed reddit going crazy about it.

On another Note it's getting crazy how many PC games I've amassed already without even spending very much money I've yet to fully play most of them properly but I will hopefully get round to them all the only one I've actually played through to completion is the first Modern combat which was fun but seemed short to me.

I'd say right now Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion is getting most of my attention but I've always been a tiny bit curious about why Bioshock seems popular so I've picked up the first one depending on how I like it I may get the rest.

I liked all 3 Bioshock's but they're all a bit different, the first one introduces a good setting and the wrap up is quite good but does get a bit monotonous in the middle and enemy types are hard to distinguish because of similar silhouettes, the second one is faster paced, a little more varied and fixes the silhouette problems but while I enjoyed it I think a lot of fans of the series feel it's the weakest even though I felt it fixed a lot of problems, the magic of the setting has worn a bit thin by the second one though. The third is a cross between Disney and Rachet & Clank but still very much Bioshock, that's not really a good description... Just very much a circus show of wonder and having difficulty describing that. The third is very different from the first two but still rock solid even though the conclusion is a bit of a get out of narrative free card.

Anyway, enjoy. It's a classic series and worthwhile playing, but each has its own faults.

Interesting video, thanks for posting... It does seem dubious but I'm still baffled that a developer would spend a lot of time and money on a game the cripple it; if paid to do so that must have been a huge payoff or they must feel gamers are stupid enough to just by whatever regardless of quality.
Yeah, PC gaming is rock bottom cheap in many cases... it makes iOS developers look look money grubbing fools doubly so during seasonal sales.

Most of what I've seen seems to be broken in some respect or another, flickering car lights, DoF that's a little balmy and not practical (although this could be a user setting as some videos look different from others). Personally I'd doubt it were a conspiracy but I do think its dodgy to present something as it's not and then not fix it up to work properly. They do use some of these effects in their real time cut scenes, but I'd say that's because they can control these instances better with the camera so unresolved situations aren't problematic.

It does all make me a little hesitant for The Division though, that looked great but if Watch Dogs is any indication then it's not what we'll get. I seriously hope it's a different engine and/or able to pull off what they've shown.

So I bought the X-Com EU + the bureau pack since it was dirt cheap! but is the bureau even worth installing? (I don't have a ton of space left) I heard it was really just mediocre.

On the subject of Xcom I just ran across an article on the game Chaos Reborn by pure chance and wow I'm actually really excited about something I've already noticed you can play an online beta for free.

The original chaos was a ZX Spectrum game that played sort of like Xcom/Chess with wizards (It was by Julian Gollup same as Xcom) you could have 8 players round the one computer and scheme and fight each other with dragons, wraiths , magic spells it was really one of the best multiplayer games I've ever encountered and a lot came down to the randomness of the spellbook each player got at the start.

This game was so good it had me and my friends ignoring our Amiga 500's (best system at the time) and playing chaos constantly on a 48k Spectrum and just seeing the title again give me a pretty happy feeling.

I have played remakes of the game like Chaos Groove due to really wanting to play it again but this looks like an official real attempt to bring back the gameplay of the original.

I only played around an hour of it on PC, but only because it was gifted and I wasn't really in the mood but it seemed okay. If you want a hybrid TPS combined with paused issuing of tactical commands it might tickle your fancy, gunplay in live mode seemed a bit half baked though and it's not really XCOM, just of the same world.

Was just playing Kerbal Space Program for the first time as curiosity got the better of me asit seems to be very popular. It is quite good fun building your own rockets and getting them into space I really quite like it.

Had to watch a few youtube beginners videos to work out how to get started and I still haven't managed to orbit the planet but I think it's worth the money so far.

Big fan of that type of game myself I have a couple of the X3 games installed and recently picked up Freespace 2 just because I've always been curious about it but I've been reading Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen are both seriously heavy on hardware requirements.

I'll probably skip it for now but I do have ideas of getting myself an R9 290 or better later in the year and will undoubtedly check it out then.

I really enjoyed that one I loved the fact you could pretty much play it as a psychopath, I actually prefer it to the Walking Dead games although I've only played those up to Season 2 Episode 2 so far.

Main game I'm playing at the moment is Fallout New Vegas (first time playing it in truth I haven't played Fallout 3 either) I've added some mods to enhance it and at the minute I'm really enjoying it my impression is basically Skyrim with guns.

I actually restarted my New Vegas game after adding a ton more mods it's really cool how much you can change the game I don't think I'll be able to help myself doing the same on Skyrim next.

Enjoying my restart more than the first time now I've an idea of what perks to take and what build to go for.

I got my Vegas looking like "The Road", I couldn't get into the colour palette they shipped with with its overblown colours. FO3 was fine vanilla, but FONV was a little too sporadic. Hope you got the story DLC as well, mostly brilliant. I didn't go over the top with Skyrim as they did a good job, just water, textures and some lighting stuff.
