Currently playing South Park Stick of Truth. Its great. Been having some nostalgia for Doom recently after seeing a video of a guy playing through the original with John Romero, the developer. I will probably do some playing of brutal doom the mod. i'm also playing BioShock infinity with some added graphics mods that make it look even better. I've had a lot of fun with iOS gaming. My main complaint is the lack of a decent gamepad. The ones available are overpriced and a complete joke. I've got $40 Logitech for my PC that blows away anything available for iOS right now. Some games are so well designed for touch control that I greatly enjoy them. Others like dead rising two scream out for a decent controller. It's insane that we have devices with an A7 CPU, that can belt out console level graphics, but we're stuck in gamepad ghetto when you want to play games with other than touch control. I'm looking forward to Mad Catz controller for MFI that was supposed to be out this month but has been delayed until June. Their controllers for android are excellent so the MFI version should be just as good. That's based on prototypes since that logic doesn't work with Logitech. They make a great PC controller but their iOS one is an abortion. For PC, I am looking forward to the upcoming Wolfenstein release next month. It looks to be phenomenal and an example of an FPS that is not simply another lame infected call of duty archetype. I'm also enjoying playing Sonic all stars racing transformed with my preschooler on iOS

If you like arcade racing, I recommend Flatout 2. One of my favorite racing games, a focus of physical crash-heavy racing, a lot of fun

Distance is an upcoming racing game, acrobatic survival racing, and it looks amazing

    One word: mods.

Using nexus mod manager or steam workshop it's a piece of cake, it really is as easy as finding what you want and hitting subscribe.

That's more like it! Steam is totally over-rated.

I've got the Data Hacker games in my queue; it was a good deal when they were $1 on indiegamestand.com; everyone should keep their eye on indiegamestand.com's 'today's deal' (which changes every 4 days). So far the best PC gaming "deal" I've gotten yet is picking up Tower of Guns for $1 on IGS; The Cat Lady was a good deal too (Cat Lady is a great creepy adventure game).

Yeah, IndieGameStand, Humble, Desura, and GMG are great. The bulk of my library is on Steam and Humble through

Picked up a whole bunch of Star Wars games in the franchise sale on Steam

    KOTOR
    KOTOR 2
    Jedi Outcast
    Jedi Academy
    Republic Commandos

I tempted to get Empire at War as well, any impressions of that?

Got Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines on Steam yesterday, first time playing

I had heard so many good things about the game and so far it's totally living up to my expectations. The gameplay is great. Granted I've only done one real mission but I'm already surprised by how open the game. First time, I got into a fight and just slaughtered everyone. Reloaded, started stealthy, found you could turn the power off, and was to able to silently kill a few enemies and enter from a different entrance

The atmosphere and world is very immersive and compelling. Can't wait to get further in

Edit: those who doesn't know about Vampire, it's essentially warring vampires clans and supernatural beings in modern LA, with the original Deus Ex's depth, fantastic atmosphere, and excellent writing

I haven't checked the entire thread yet but do we have a Touch Arcade Steam group set up yet? I have a few games I'd want to give away and it would be nice if I could make them open to only members from here.

Somehow, I already have Vampires purchased without knowing but I think I'll be playing that next weekend thanks to your impressions Bronxsta!

You just reminded me of when I read the reviews of this thought it looked really good but knew I couldn't play it so moved on, really does sound like my type of game though I'm going to add it to my to be gotten list.

Yes, that was the first thing I did. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and the patched game runs perfectly. I haven't had any crashes or major bugs/glitches. I'm only 3 hours in ATM, so that could change though

Make sure you download the patch. The game was released the same day as Half Life 2 and as some retrospectives have put it, Activision sent the game out to die. It was a financial failure and the developers closed. (Thankfully it's not all bad; the lead writer have since worked on Alpha Protocol and is currently developing Dead State).

Here's a good retrospective about the game's release and how the modding community essentially saved it:

Vampire was released unfinished and unpolished. Over the years, patches have restored and improved the game

Actually just started playing the Vampire Bloodlines game myself (really was just checking it works but I did end up playing for four or five hours) I like it really does remind me of Deus Ex as well just with vampire powers instead of augments I think I made a bad decision with my vamp build though I went for the most human one (Clan Toreador) and am mostly getting my ass kicked in any serious fights.

Haunted Hotel bit I just played through was kinda freaky as well played through a similar thing in skyrim a few days ago now I know where they got the idea.

Also picked up Dead Island I know it isn't rated that highly but I always liked the look of it and I think the GOTY edition fixes most of the complaints people had about it originally.

First disappointment with a newer game I used to play Civ 3 a ton so got myself Civ 5 after looking at pretty positive reviews but I actually hate it.

It's just a step backward from Civ 3 in everything yeah the graphics are pretty but it's just not the same game in my opinion, it's still early days but I can't believe you can't even do basic things like building armies anymore also really dislike you can't just automate a military unit and leave it to do it's thing when needed. To me needing to micromanage every single unit takes away all the fun and quickly turned the game into nothing more than a chore.

It's prettier but it really feels like a dumbed down mobile game to me kinda disappointed as it was one of my strategy go to games and every review I read said it was brilliant I guess you really can't trust a single site anymore.

Brighter note I got a hold of COD 4 Modern Warfare and was quite impressed with that I might try the newer versions out.

Anybody playing Nuclear Throne? I am chomping at the bit to play and was going to wait for the PSN version, but I don't think I can stand the wait. LOL. Thinking about buying into early access on Steam. Hopefully it runs well on our Mac Mini and/or MacBook Air. That's my main concern - I never know if anything is going to work well on a computer. The system requirements I find hard to judge. Especially in this case where it only lists Windows requirements, not Mac (or Linux). I guess since it's early access.

Yeah, it's a great game. I'm playing on PC, so I can't say anything about Mac performance. I don't think it runs on Mac, if no requirements are listed. But I have a pretty mediocre non-gaming laptop and the game's just fine for me

Edit: yeah, no Mac version yet. Dev said
