I second Kieffer Bros (especially Abca/Lexic) and Kil.A.Ton. One of my all time favorites is "Run!" by Arthur Ham. I don't recall it ever being too universally popular. I was bummed when he responded via twitter that he doesn't plan to update the graphics for the Retina display If you're a fan of puzzle games you should check out Colorbind. Not sure it was ever uber popular either.
There is a clone of this game, with 110 levels (10 free, 100 DLC): http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lab-mice/id357627906?mt=8 The controls are a little shifty, but if you want more levels it's worth a shot.
I wonder, how you know a game didn't get the attention it deserves? For Magic Blackboard Free I confirm it's the full version, too bad it is so blurry on iPad.
Generally I just look at ratings/reviews and also consider how much hype for them i've seen on the forums. And I trust that the forum members here know what they're talking about. So far all of these seem good.
I have Lab Mice and it is pretty good but not as good as PathPix. It's another lesser known game in the App Store. You made a mistake on the first post when you were adding who mentioned what games. You wrote that sammysin mentioned the games that I mentioned. Check the second page, first post for clarification. It's an honest mistake though
Yeah, I get a little mad at Lab Mice's controls sometimes. It needs an update to fix things (and to turn off that "reset when i go off the path" function). I'd also imagine the levels with 12+ number pairs are difficult for people who don't have tiny hands like I do. Fixed
My hands are pretty tiny too so its not that bad . But sometimes the controls are unresponsive which can get frustrating. You should try Piczle Lines. It's free with DLC and there is a good amount of content without buying any DLC. It's very similar to PathPix and the controls are good.
You should also check out "The Novice". It´s a bit bug ridden and it seems like the developer has abandoned it, yet it´s still a nice game and it´s free. It´s quite short too, but i enjoyed playing through it nontheless. Speaking about it, i guess i´ll reinstall and have myself another play through. http://www.appshopper.com/games/thenovice Gameplay Vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnEttTlya8Q I wish the dev would update this one, in my opinion it has a lot of potential. Try it and tell me what you think.
Just to name a few of my favorites StarBurst: a remake of Klax a classic match 3 game Wumbo: the closest thing we have to Chips Challenge Slyder Adventure: a realy nice tilting game (or whatever they may be called) with plenty of levels
Domino's Adventure. It's a cool little platformer. Kinda like Rolando, kinda not. If you are unsure check out marbs' other Dominos games, (specifically Dominos 2) for an idea what it's like: http://www.yoyogames.com/games/2041
Arachnophilia- it's a game released in the past week, but it's got stellar gameplay and I'm finding it ultra-hard to put down. I think it hasn't caught on like it deserves to.
Yeah, but it´s not that bad. It even does feature a story which progresses every few levels and a hip soundtrack. I wonder why developement on this has been stopped. As i said, there are a few glitches, for example the possibility to move through barrels and so on.
I think the game PushPixPull deserves a mention aswell. Despite it being a very clever game with oldschool like fiendish puzzles, it hasn´t received much of media echo. Haven´t seen much sites reviewing it either. So yeah, here goes. I love it, this Sudoku/Sokoban mashup is really a tough nut to crack. Gameplay Video
