SCEE owns the IP nowadays. That's why you won't find any legal releases of Lemmings for any other but their platform. DS version is a homebrew project, so they probably turn a blind eye to it. I honestly can't see Apple ever approving this, as much as I'd like to see it happen.

cool, never heard of it up til now, but sounds fun and screens are cool

  5. You must be new. Apple has approved some of the most absurd crap full of stolen IP. I'm talking stuff with the likeness of Mario in it, blatant clones of other games -- including App Store originals -- and other such nonsense. Apple doesn't police IP (they have no way of knowing if it's properly licensed), they just respond to taketown notices.

    Hi,

I noticed the lack of an answer too, just figured that was an answer, or was offtopic.

  9. They probably don't have a case if the game isn't a fairly direct copy of Duck Hunt (i.e. changed graphics and sound), but they have issued takedown notices for other apps that have directly ripped off their IP or used any of their trademarks. They're very vigorous at defending their IP.

I can't get the link, but Original Duck Hunt is a direct port *facepalm*

  11. Jeez...

You're right. Its a straight cop. And it's been up for nearly a month. And there's a pretty close clone in iDuck Hunt:

Although this one is pretty hideous, but it's got the chucking dog and everything.

I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't been all over this. They're normally pretty vigilant.

is a man not allowed to sleep? :)

nintendo loves us - we have a long history with them, we probably wont do anything with mario, we had to remove the palm os version as well. it just isn't worth going there - they will jump on everything very fast.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update there, I kind of thought that, with the history of the PalmOS clone.

Darn it all though, would have been nice to see.

Cool...Lemmings! Good luck with this project. Bus as cool as this might be I would not risk my business because of the infringement of copyrights. You may not know who is the legit owner of the rights, but the lawyers of them will know... ;)

I would LOVE to code a remake of Ultima Underworld (e.g.) for iDevices but I would LOVe to stay out of the jail in the next time as well. :)

However, I will check it out as soon as you released it. Looks old school...I like old school...

this is a hobby - i do not intend to make any profit from this, just wanted to do it for so long. if it goes up and gets removed, thats how it is - not much i can do about that. at least i'll have it on my machine for my own amusement (and maybe those who were lucky to get it).
