hahahhaa fantastic. On the subject at hand though, I don't hate Minecraft because it's "Popular". I applaud the extremely small development team for making something so simple, be so commercially acceptable. I also genuinely have no problem with anyone playing the game, My 6 year old half-brother plays it for god's sake. But it doesn't mean I won't give you shit about it The real reason I hate Minecraft sooooo much, is because I want to get into it. I really do, it looks like so much fun. When the beta started becoming more relevant in the online world, I seriously thought even before the Lego announcement, that the game was essentially a Sand-Box Lego game, with a living breathing world pretty much. I get the appeal, I know there are people out there losing sleep over this f*cking game. I just simply get wayyyyyy too bored. I lose interest and go play something else, or even better, make music. I have lost my creativity somewhere along my life line (I used to be a die-hard Lego fanatic as a kiddo), and it sucks. So instead of just saying "I just don't like the game." I bitch and complain about how uncool it is because secretly, I long to play it and enjoy it. How's that for truth. >.<
I partially agree with this... I like Minecraft I just get bored to much because I don't feel like taking the time to build a HUGE castle or any other insane structure people make. Quite frankly I love to watch people on youtube build these kinds of things. I also like blowing the crap out of things with TNT
I can identify with that part. I build structures and play around with redstone wiring and all the while think I'm doing something fairly impressive... then it takes about 20 seconds of browsing the internet to remind me my attempts are completely pathetic. It bugs me to know I'll never be even half as good as a lot of people out there, and even if they put their creations up for download, it just won't feel right not having made it myself. I tend to take lots of breaks between each session on the game, it's easy to wear yourself out playing it, but eventually I'll find myself inspired by something enough to go back and give it a shot.
But online is where this game shines... Playing on a server with 8 other people, making cities, economies, it's awesome.
I can't really do that either... the perfectionist in me can't stand watching someone build when I think I could improve on what they're doing. I couldn't live on a server where players made anything less than awesome, but finding really skilled players would mean a lot of boring socialising and playing with people I don't know. I annoy myself enough of the time, haha. If I make something I'm not proud of, it's not enough to go and build something else a few meters away, I have to start on a fresh, new world.
I am totally not in the know about Minecraft mods and such, but wasn't there a version of that already out a while back?
Is this actual LEGOS or an addition to Minecraft App? I love playing with Legos. I guess I see Minecraft as a giant Lego building app, so what does 'Official Minecraft Legos' mean to us?
