Soon, fans will be able to take those digital creations and bring them into the real world courtesy of the community inspired Lego Minecraft. Posting on Lego Cuusoo, Mojang confirmed that, following fan voting, Danish toy maker Lego will create an official Minecraft series. LEGO Minecraft image produced by Michael Thomas (suparMacho). "Minecraft is about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine in the virtual world," Mojang stated. "You can build anything you imagine with LEGO bricks in the physical world. Minecraft and LEGO were meant to be together." Mojang is partnering with fans who created earlier Minecraft builds with Legos to help shape the final official product, and the studio is looking for your best Minecraft Lego creations for further inspiration. Share them on Lego Cuusoo. "As the official Mojang LEGO Minecraft project, we will work with the LEGO Group to secure a licensing agreement and donate the 1% royalty from LEGO CUUSOO to charity," Mojang stated. "Let's make LEGO Minecraft happen together!"
I am probably one of the biggest haters of Minecraft you will ever come across, and on the flipside, one of the biggest lovers of LEGOs you will ever find. And those two meshing just makes me want to sit in front of a wall and bang my head against it until my flesh is mangled. =(
Heh, the comparison has always been there for me, however I always thought more along the lines of DUPLO scale. To some I end up defending Minecraft as "What, running around killing zombies and skeletons in a LEGO world, how could this not be the best game ever?!?"
hahahhaah I guess the comparison is obviously there, but I have always been the one to rather kill myself than play another 30 minutes of Minecraft.
For me it'd be more along the lines of "can I get away with playing another 30 minutes without my wife killing me?" That being said, she did play with me once, on our own server. She liked the animals but quickly became confused/bored/distracted by Facebook.
There is quite literally nothing to hate about Minecraft except it's success It's so basic and pure it's kind of impossible for it to hold any negative qualities... much like Lego. What would be the reasoning behind hating Lego, you're scared of corners?
Minecraft is just a shitty game.Everyone is playing it (few friends),but I don't see any purpose of it.Just my $0.02.
Does any game have a purpose other than to provide fun? Minecraft is fun to some people such as myself, even though there is no real objective. Anyway, I think Booch is just scared of creepers
The purpose is to be creative. It literally puts you into a world in which you can create almost anything. It has no plot, motive, or anything for a major story, but that's because it's not that kinda game. If you want to truly enjoy it, you have to think creatively, and if you are willing to put time and effort into a project, you will be amazed at what u can create. GTA is a sandbox game, but I think of Minecraft as more of a creative toy than what people know as a modern video game. Haha, I think most people are at first. I had a friend playing for the first time. He walked straight to a creeper and tried to kill it with his fist. You can probably imagine how the creeper liked that.
I don't hate Lego. Legos are fun, not so much the bionic crap, but the actual Legos. It's fun, you can use your imagination to build practically whatever you want, be it a house, scenery, to a vehicle, to a whole damn world practically. This is something you can do in Minecraft, and I get that. I get the appeal, I really do. Some things I would rather just... do in the real world vs the virtual world. Minecraft is just boring, it's not what I want in a game. I don't even really care for games like The Sims. I get their appeal as well, just not for me. I don't have the time for it, nor do I have the patience to put in the time it deserves. That's what it boils down to. I am not putting it down as a successful game, obviously millions of people thoroughly enjoy it. There is obviously something about it. It is just simply not for me. It doesn't hold my attention long enough to want to invest any more time into it. We have .04 cents together my friend. Arg... you found my weakness....
Truth be told, it does require imagination. This is where many people falter The same goes with Lego though, they really were born for each other.
You're wrong, Mid, you're dead wrong. You'll see. As soon as there are Minecraft Legos, BOOM. Both will fail in any kind of further success. They'll be sleepin' with the fishes. All because you had to have it all.
Well at least you can understand the appeal I think for most people it pretty much holds the exact same attraction as Lego. Like you said, you can build anything, but with Lego you're always limited by how much of it you can afford to buy and how much space you have, whereas with Minecraft you've got an entire world full of endless blocks at your disposal. It's like you've just bought your dream mansion with one huge room dedicated to nothing but Lego I'm with you on the Sims though, that really is crap.
This actually sounds pretty sick. Not really a fan of Minecraft, but LEGOs were no doubt my favorite toys growing up. Hundreds of dollars spent buying all those sets. So many possibilities here.
I love LEGO's too,I still have a bunch of things built, they are fun,I like the physical construction more ) Also if this game is pretty good enough I might try it
