I got the full version too, thanks Kev. Didn't go very far with the free version since I heard you were releasing the full, so I'm gonna restart.
When I go down into the dungeons I keep going into rooms with snakes and skeletons and nothing else. I have no idea what I'm meant to be doing.... any tips?
Keep going, there are chests, barrels, that sort of thing. Then bigger monsters, more items, drops, quests and overland exploring. Kev
I've also just discovered an issue when moving between the desktop game and the iPhone. Please be aware if you find an item not present in the iPhone version it may be lost when you return to the desktop. This will be resolved in the next update. Kev
I'm a freak'n sucker for these graphics!!! This one is definitely going on my wish list!!! =oD And thank you all for your impressions/opinions!! You've pushed this up to the top of my wish list! =oD
Hey Kev, How about developing a hardcore mode for sickos out here? No need to change it much from what you already have but once a character dies their save file is deleted and they are given a score (and therefore hopefully some sort of local Top 10 Hall of Fame too, I guess, per class). This score would be based on depth reached, gold value of things collected, quests completed, and maybe experience level when the player died. What would be cooler still is some big score bonuses for strange little achievements made in that run like: -Not a Wuss +1,000: The player never teleported out of the dungeon or went upstairs. -Efficient +500: The player never stayed on a level for more than 3 minutes. etc.
Great ideas Tim, I've been asked for a hardcode mode a couple of times now - so I'll add it to the plan. Unfortuantely theres a lot piled up at the moment, probably time I had a replay. Glad you're enjoying the game though Kev
just found out about this game yesterday (or today early morning). Played until lvl 8 and liked it a lot , wish the dpad was a little more responsive, but overall liked the game. will buy the full version
Really glad you're enjoying it. The next update should be along at the end of the week. The hardcore mode is on the list, but quite a way down at the moment Kev
Hey Kevin. I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong, but my level 9 archer with standard bow and dagger equipped does zero damage to enemies up close. It has kind of halted any real progress.
In the latest version you can't use ranged combat close up which means you really have to think about how to use your archer. This means two things: 1) Make sure you use bear traps to good effect 2) Make sure you're using the right melee weapon for your level. Here are the melee weapons available to your archer: Archer Melee Item Level Attack Defense Cost ------------------------------------------------------------------ Dagger 0 0 0 300 Ridged Dagger 5 2 0 800 Tooth Dagger 10 3 0 1500 Hunter Knife 16 4 0 10800 Razor Knife 22 6 0 17800 Task Spear 27 8 2 31500 Sickle 35 9 0 47800 Cleaver 41 10 0 57800 ------------------------------------------------------------------ In terms of attack they are about -1/-2 behind warrior so you should be doing reasonably good damage. If not you might be trying to kill things that are too high level for you. Hope this helps, Kev
So there is NO difference between the IAP version of this game and the full version save the full version has no option to buy IAP ( obviously ) right? I ask because someone earlier in the thread was glad they did not get far with the free version, because they prefer to start over on the full version. I can't figure out why it makes a difference.
Hey Kevin! Thanks for the reply. Though the scenario is odd, I have the standard bow and the standard dagger, and I am fighting thieves, from the very next area after you complete the first dungeon (when you talk to the soldier to leave the town), even when the dogs get close I still do zero damage. Both the bow and the dagger are equipped and I am level 9, which I would assume is sufficient to kill them. Even odder is, that before 754 I was able to attack close range (with dagger in hand of course). I will try using the next dagger and see if that bodes better for me.
