Yeah max essence meter is key. Just play some endless modes like survival or sidescrolling for quick moonstones and try to get on some leaderboards while your at it. If your on hard you should have the essence meter upgraded at the very least 3 times! You can do much more specials that way. I think the level will be much easier after that. That's why I put this tip: "Upgraded units require more specials for essence - upgrade your essence meter!"
When you progress into the game and there are those intense battles like the above pictuers, are you guys satisfied with the controls? Cause right now, I'm struggling even on the first few levels...
It can be frustrating at times. One of my biggest gripes is that selecting a unit and tapping in a direction orders the unit to continually move in that direction rather than move to the point I tapped. I would rather it move to where I tapped (and then have a swipe motion to make it continue to move). I did just figure out the option of autotargeting - I had turned that off I think at the very beginning and forgotten bout it. I turned it on last night, and it does help - it basically makes units cross lanes to attack monsters. One one hand, this can be good if you have a lot of units to manage. On the other hand, it can cause units to end up bunching up a lot, making them hard to select (but then, since the units are autotargeting anyway, you probably don't need to select them as much). All in all, it's not bad - I haven't had too much trouble, especially since the control update from a month or so ago.
Cause right now, I'm struggling even on the first few levels...[/QUOTE] Try turning on auto targeting if you haven't already. There is a lot of control so there is a slight learning curve. It becomes a breeze after a while though...
I have done that already but I'm still struggling. I haven't lost any yet, but I'm very clumsy and can easily see losing games further on especially judging by submitted screenshots. I know this would totally change this aspect of gameplay, but I'd honestly love if this game controlled like Plants vs Zombies where you simply drag your units into a lane and they automatically move forward in that lane and attack everything in its path. Cause right now, even if these are the "updated" controls, it's REALLY hampering me to enjoy the game right now.
What's to stop you from playing that way? USe the group forward arrow and your heroes will automatically exit the castle and move forward turn off auto targeting and they wont switch lanes. I know some people who play this way. we built it so you have a variety of options on how you want to play. If you haven't lost any levels don't worry about it. just keep leveling up your units with gems. You will gain more experience by the time you get to the crazy levels
True, but turning off auto targeting would also mean I'd have to factor in controlling which lanes my units are built in. The problem is within the chaos of sliding back and forth on the screen, keep track of your resources and miner, continually cycling through units to use special attacks or control other things they do, etc. It's just a major hassle that really sucks any fun I'm having with the game.
Well in P v Z you have to choose which lanes the units are built. But it sounds like you want a game that's more atone to that. We wanted to create a game that gives the user more control. Taking away the control the user has over the units and the scrolling would have not made Legendary Wars the game it is. We realize its not as casual friendly as some people want, but we have tons of fans that enjoy the game the way it is so we are not looking to change the basic gameplay. If you have suggestions on what would make the control better, we are glad to hear it. Again you could play the game without scrolling at all and just build a solid defense and big army. at 99 cents or even .99 we still feel the game is much higher quality than the most of the competition out there.
I'm definitely not arguing the quantity or quality in this game. It was definitely a steal at .99. However, I just don't think this game is for me and I'll probably be deleting it soon. I'm glad to have supported active developers such as you guys though!
Sorry to hear that! thanks for giving us a try and maybe you will enjoy our next effort a little more
Is there anywhere I can learn about the controls? I am having fun with the game but I don't think I am using all the controls correctly.
Since Thursday to coincide with the release of Retina. Free version is also available but def does not give you the full experience.
There's quite a bit of different control options. You can replay tutorial levels. 1-2, 1-3, 1-4 are all good ones to read again. There are multiple control options including enemy targeting where units automatically cross lanes to attack enemies. The group control can command individual unit types or all units. keep playing around. We realize the game is not pick up and play right away so reading and practice is required for some
New Tier Units and concepts are WIP. I.e nothing is final. And yes thats a new healer unit: Hot or Not? Your feedback counts
I absolutely love this game now, although, I was stuck on 5-3. Then I heard there was an available update to even harder levels out. So I update. Start up the app, loading screen, world map, click on level, yay, crash. Every time. I really was hoping to beat the normal campaign but I can't even do any missions now
