If you've been on TA forums for 813 posts, you should be used to this by now. Sometimes there's more whining about someone else getting a game at a lower price than everything else on these forums put together.
Yes, while I'm very saddened about how the price keeps dropping, I will continue to support the Dev, and I'm getting excited about the new update, which seems to fix all of my complaints!
So I picked this up, as I enjoy supporting new developers, but I have to say, it doesn't quite feel like a finished product yet. I'm having a LOT of trouble with the control scheme - I spend more time trying to make my troops go where I want them to go, and stop when I want them to stop, than anything else, and it's really frustrating. I want to be able to select a unit, and then be able to tell it to go to X, and not just go forward. And I want to be able to unselect units, so that when I make more units, I can actually get them to the correct location, without the one unit I have selected moving around as well. I'll also agree about the loading times. Having to load between EVERY screen? Gets old, FAST. I wouldn't mind between battles, if the map/castle/etc. didn't require load screens as well. Sure, they're only a few seconds, but it adds up over time. And finally, can anyone give me some help on 1-4? I've tried it twice now, and I just get overrun. Which is frustrating, because my knights are maxed on defense, and the zombies just tear them apart like they're made of tissue paper. Do i need to start over and put points into something else? It seems like a lot of the upgrade costs are high for what seems like very little actual benefit. *sigh* Not really feeling very happy about this purchase, even at $1. Hopefully the updates will make it better - I had read such good reviews about it.
he's an actor yeah, can we stop with the whining? come on,its just a dollar, stop overreacting. more winning and less whining i always say. you know i hear he's an actor.
The fail post of fail posts. c'mon. seriously get over it. "Oh my gosh! I lost a WHOLE 2 bucks. Now I can't get my special pack of gum!"
The loading was improved by up to 40% off some levels on ipod 2 So hopefully you will notice a big difference. the new control is flawless. Very very precise and the auto mode is there if you don't want to manage your units. our testers LOVED the changes we made based on everyones feedback on here and the reviews.
Yup, also wondering whether there would be a seperate HD app for the iPad. 99 cents is a steal for sure, but IMHO, I wouldnt mind spending another dollar or two for crispier graphics. So should I wait?
More like EPIC FAIL.....lolz. You seem uber cool, like me you're into the lingo. Wanna go pwn sum noobz?
Can anyone give me some advice on 1-4? It's the first one where you get the elves. I feel like I'm missing something, because the zombies just obliterate my troops, even with Knighty having max defense. Very frustrating.
Build a column of elves first than knights to protect them. When zombies get close use knighty special attack. Should be straight forward defense. Good luck! The née version will have an auto attack that will make it easier... Were just waiting on apple...
Orian and Gang, Any estimates as to when the iPad version would be released and, more importantly, will it be a seperate app or Universal? Cheers.
my understanding is that they're unsure at the moment due to fear of the app becoming bloated in size with the addition of more higher rez textures into one build. its 100megs now, before they add retina support... i like universal builds, but also am getting tired of 300meg apps soaking up my storage space when half of it is useless to my machine... especially since my 64 ipad is full and i have started keeping a list of games i bought but can't install yet... i should probably run through rage hd once and for all and get rid of that gig
Hey Fingers, I wish i could tell you! Were still testing with Retina right now. We are trying to shoot for late Feb to get everything working as it should. The graphics do look incredible. My game programmer did mention that there may be an easy way to scale up retina with black boarders on the top but you would still get the HD quality right off the bat. Otherwise if we go the other route, IPad will def not be ready this month. We will see what feedback you guys give us. I can't wait to start posting screens. I think people will be impressed with the level of detail. I still recommend to get the game at 99 cents before the new control. The new control simply rocks.
you should consider porting the game to android phones, XBLA (xbox arcade), and other platforms. The game is good. They are many was to improve the game. I have beaten the game however did not notice any meta game. I must have brute force my way through. I am talking about how certain units have weakness against other units. How maybe archers can take down trolls faster than knights. etc. For the control issues I also suggest adding a group unit feature. where you can create groups of units. For example a group of archers surrounded by knights. And then you can command them collectively. For multiplayer the key issue is BALANCE. They are two things in which you must have balance: 1) Gameplay: Units should be balanced. 2) Casual gamers and Hardcore gamers. This is tricky you need to strike the right balance in which casual gamers need to pick up the game quickly and enjoy it, yet you need enough depth and complexity that hardcore gamers feel rewarded. Good Luck! I have many more ideas. I will try to shoot you a PM if you wanna chat.
Yeah, that wasn't the problem. Thanks to the advice the devs game a while back, I made it past there (now on Chapter 2, I think). The problem was not using special moves. Which, when I finally started using them, made things a LOT easier. Sadly, upgrading doesn't seem to help me as much. I don't know why, but the upgrades just don't seem to be all that effective. The zombies were still ripping me to shreds even with fully upgraded defense. I don't know, the games good, just not great. Controls are a huge problem, as is the fact that the side scrolling stages seem a bit too easy compared to the TD stages, and given that they give you the same amount of gems, it's more efficient to go run through a side scroll stage for a bit than it is to replay the TD stages. Still, I'll keep playing, and wait for the next update. Feeling a bit better about the $1 I spent on it than I was, at least.
