While I wouldn't call Coldfire Keep a turd, I also wouldn't say it's near on par with the Legend of Grimrock. So yeah, definitely give this a go if you enjoy old school Wizardry type games but be ready for the real time battles.
It's the realtime battles element that's putting me off slightly.... Otherwise I'd be all over this like a rash
Clearly they dont. They only want the money of people with ipads Anyways does this have MFi controller support?
The true way to "vote" on the matter is to contact the developers directly and ask them if an iPhone build is feasible.
I don't really think controllers would work very well with this game since each of the four characters has an attack plus the rune spell system would take too long with real time battles. On top of that is the touch interface for discovering secrets and picking up items and placing them. I don't think you could get everything to work with just a controller, so you would be forced to use the controller and some touch controls which would be more trouble than it's worth IMO.
Has anyone played it on a iPad2? Is it choppy? Can't believe it supports my old device, I thought for sure this was going to be the game that would force me to upgrade, well Grim Fandango will have to wait then..
Finally!! It seems like it's been forever (well, it kinda has) since we first heard about this coming go iPad. Hell, Wasn't it announced when the iPad 2 came out? Either way, I'll definitely be downloading this tonight!
Are you able to get rid of some, or all, of the ui and use swipes for turns/movements like in the pc version?
Yeah, it was "in the works" for iPad before it even shipped on PC. Then the sequel came out. Every now and then an assurance would show up that the iOS version wasn't dead, but I kinda stopped believing it after a while. Now that it's finally here, I have no excitement left for it. At least it's cheap though.
I'll admit I was tired of hearing it was "coming to ios" too, but I'm still very excited about it. I grew up on games like this, but I haven't had a decent PC in years, so I've been dying to play this on my iPad. That, and the fact that there's really not very many good options for games like this on the AppStore. I'm hoping that LoG 2 will eventually make to ios as well if this one does well.
