It should've came with a recipe for a healing potion and anti-venom. The anti-venom potion is just one Cave Nettle. The healing potions is just one Tar Bead.
Ah you're right! I missed the antivenom part of the scroll! Thanks. Still.. Don't have too many, so scared to waste them. Already running low on food. :/ Goddamn spiders!
I am not sure if any of you are this far, yet, but have any of you guys found out the Fallen Star secret, yet? It's very well worth the effort if you haven't done it, yet.
I really hope I'll find some more food soon, because I'm spending a lot of time walking around on the third level and it's making my guys hungry.
Food is generally not an issue unless you're doing a lot of unproductive walking around. Whenever I was worried about food and walking around trying to find secrets I would generally save scum and reload once I found the secret or the solution. Food becomes a non-issue around level 6.
I have been doing too much walking and saving. Maybe I should go back to an older save...? I went back through the teleporters to deal with those two pits and two buttons and found the secret location. But I still can't figure out how to get past those two pits right near the crystal (on level 3). I don't want to keep doing that teleportation puzzle over and over again for nothing, but I couldn't find any way through on that side either. Hence, all the energy wasted and consumption of food. :/
You can't get across those pits from this side. They will open up as a shortcut back once you finish the entire level.
Yup, just keep going as the path takes you. Eventually you'll end up on the other side of those pits.
Ugh. Down to my last couple of pieces of food and gonna be out altogether pretty soon. Every passageway appears to be blocked. There are two buttons I've pressed that open doors, but apparently not any useful ones? This is what I have so far. (Sorry for the spoiler, but can't seem to put a spoiler around images): Can't figure out how to get this door open:
That's an Iron Door, there's one on every floor and it usually holds an equipment item. You should explore to the east.
I finally got through it, but only by looking at a walkthrough. :/ OMG those f***ing spiders! 50% poison resistance doesn't even help. I keep losing my men to poison, and the Crystal is too far away to rely on that. Two spiders in a row and a third shortly after? None of my equipment is powerful enough for this.
Oh. Thought it was in this one too, bahaha. Considering that this is basically like the second, I thought that secret was in this one, too. Whoops.
I dunno, I must have an awful team or something. Even with 72% poison resistance, my Minotaur gets poisoned and dies from those two spiders in a row. If not for the severe lack of food, I could run back to the crystal. But at this point, I'm worried I may have to start the game over with a new team. Edit: Phew! Took a few deaths and save reloads but I made it to the fourth level!
Ok, a couple of things. I feel stupid now for feeding my guys every time they got hungry. It seems the only thing hunger does is keep them from healing? Am I wrong? Because then I could have let them starve until I came across enemies. Also, I seem to have missed the gold key that drops from a spider. All the spiders are dead and I can't find it anywhere. Now what?
Food is scarce so just let them eat when necessary. I hit level 6 and then decided to restart with a new party... Yes the game is totally worth it.
I realized that way too late. I will likely be starting over as well. Working on my review, though, because I might not finish the game this century at this rate!
Here's my review. I'll likely be starting the game over, though, and feeding them less. Let 'em starve a bit. http://www.appunwrapper.com/2015/05/19/legend-of-grimrock-ipad-review/
I'm not sure if you've known this or not, but moving to the side or back and moving right back in front of them basically lets you avoid attacks. You gotta be in that square adjacent to yours, though. Otherwisee you're gonna get hit while moving to it.
