The puzzles plays a huge part in the game.
Unless they use walkthrough, most people will probably miss out on some of the secret areas in this game.
That's considered normal, I would think, and encourage another play through.

Personally, I absolutely love this kind of game, but I guess it's not for everyone.

It's very faithful to style of games it plays homage to, and those games were a big part of my youth.

Congrats on the 5 star review from TA, although the 500 word offering doesn't really fit the stature of this game. It's unfortunate that Shaun was busy with other projects when this game released.

    Yay! 5*!

Grimrock and Tenacious D mentioned in the same sentence; my career is downhill from now on :D

That was a bug and it should be fixed in the next update

    Sorry, can't talk about 'em.

The game is around 15 hours, but if you want to solve all the secrets it's a lot longer.

    Scroll of Fireburst

hey guys...kind of stuck in the beginning. Read the walkthrough afterwards and found that there was a scroll of fireburst in an area I already cleared in the first floor. I recall picking up the other items in the same room but not the scroll. I went back and can't find it anywhere. Anyone else have this problem?

Hmmm, I didn't find that scroll on the first floor. I wonder if it has anything to do with how the rune patterns are different between the PC and iOS versions?

Congrats on the glowing review from TA! :D

Do you have any future plans on making the secondary hand accessible? In a previous post, I'd suggested using a similar system that you already have in place for thrown weapons, but I never heard of that could be a possibilty or not. Another user suggested possibly stacking the damage of both weapons or simply adding an additional attack to make dual wielding a viable option. Any thoughts on this, or should I just put a lid on it? Thanks! :D

I have this on my new Mac and the graphics are better.

That being said... There is no way I am playing this on anything on my iPad. The playing is so much smoother on the iPad and it is one the best games I have ever played on the tablet (mostly play quality games like X-Com, Baldur's, and Spartan Assault etc.). I am willing to wait playing Grimrock II on the iPad (I have it as well on the Mac) if there is any hint of a future release.

Maybe there is a difference. I haven't noticed anything else different so far (although I've never played the other version).

It's not in the same place as in PC version. We moved it to earlier alcove to get the spell casting going on sooner.

Can I just say something slightly off-topic?

I want everyone who owns an iPad (and potentially an iPhone *wink wink*) on the planet to come check out this thread. If the interaction between Juho and the rest of us here doesn't put a smile on your face and want to throw $5 at him for LoG, I don't know what will. It's like he's...Almost Human. :)

Seriously. This is why I love this bloody place.

  11. Finally spent some time with it last night and loving it, despite the fact that two of my men already died on the first level and I haven't figured out how to revive them. At least my Minotaur now has a shield and spear. :p

So much moaning in every thread about iPad only games. IPhones are for making Phone calls and quick gaming on the move sessions. If you want to play proper games you need an iPad. IPhones are ok but given the choice, iPad even without Phone calls wins every time if your a gamer. Any cheap Phone will make a phone call.

Simple really in my humble opinion

  13. Until a few months ago, I only had an iPhone, so I understand where people are coming from -- it sucks to see so many cool games coming out that you can't play on your device. And even though I have an iPad now, it is nice to be able to play a game on there at home, then continue the game on my iPhone when I'm away (assuming there's iCloud). But your name's ipad_dad, so this conversation may be futile. ;)

Certain games are simply perfect for iPhone, I know that, others are not. On the move mobile games are games to dip in and out off. These epic games can't be enjoyed on a bus or train. It's horses for courses, some games just would not be the same on a Phone and this type of game that drops with atmosphere deserves and needs better than a small screen and to be dipped in and out of. I would go as far too say that serious gamers would already have an iPad?? Now waiting for the backlash. At the end of the day phones are phones and if you want to play top notch games properly you get a device that fits that bill

    Here comes the drama hahaha
I own an ipad but I rarely game on it
It just lay there on the sofa for browsing
But I can not afford to lug a mac, ipad and iphone everywhere i go

But I agree certain game are unplayable on iphone (ex:paper please)

But if they can make LOG works on the iphone 6+ I will be more than happy #

No drama but that does surprise me. I don't understand why you don't use your iPad for gaming at home. Just using it for browsing seems a bit of a waste, unless of course its an older version that might struggle with newer games.

  17. One thing I will add to the iPad discussion is that I left LoG running in the background last night. Just checked this morning and it kept my game open. :) That Air 2 is some serious business!

I have an iPad 4 and an iPhone 5S, and I tend to play more games on my phone too. When I first got my iPad it was the other way around, but, after the birth of my son, I rarely find the time to sit down and game on ANY form of big screen. Due to my limited gaming time, I like the ability to just pull out my iPhone whenever I've got a free moment and fire up a favorite game. And I'm not talking about Candy Crush or other time wasters (my personal option). I play Aralon, KOTOR, Injustice, and The Quest the majority of the time. I definitely agree that a larger screen provides a far better gaming experience overall, but, for those of us with limited time, the phone is our only option. :)

  19. So, I made it to the first save point. But I'm kind of bored with my mostly-human team (I let the game create it for me). Is there any down side to using one of each species? I'm thinking of starting a new game and want to do it right.

I fully understand that. I would suggest these type of games are not really for playing during a free moment. Puzzle games and the likes which I also play are ideal for small screen on the go gaming. Deep games like this and KOTOR simply need to be given the proper time and device to get the most out of it.
