I never quite got past that feeling I was playing a full-priced mod with L4D...

Never played the first LFD, but heard I should. I tried the Demo (LFD2) on Steam and well it was decent enough but really the only reason I had contemplated it at all was for the "Special hat" for TF2...But in the end my judgment got the better of me and I decided against it....

Already played it a bit, it's pretty good. I was somewhat boycotting it because after getting it, my friends and I will probably not be playing L4D1 anymore which sucks... but the group price of 33.75 each wasn't a bad deal and was low enough to get us to preorder it.

Played through one of the campaigns already, the gameplay is a lot better than L4D1. More guns, different routes, maps are A LOT more open, and the new special infected can definitely give you a run for your money. Especially that Spitter, that thing will mess you up. It's hard to tell if it will end up like L4D1 where you can predict almost everything and find all the best spots to deal with hordes and such, but time will tell.

Time will tell for this as well, but versus mode so far is a lot more difficult for the survivors. Right now at least until people really get solid strategies figured out, it's more of 'which team can make it the farthest' as opposed to 'who will make it with the most health and how fast will they run through the level.' Which is what I prefer anyway. I'm sure there will be stages where people will start finding strategies to spring through a whole level, but we'll see.

So far I'm enjoying the game, no doubt it will be worth 34 bucks to me. And I'm hoping that custom stuff will be able to be implemented a bit better this time around.

L4D2 should have been an expansion, rather than another whole game. i swear, people these days are so damn greedy

Left 4 Dead 1 was one of my all-time favorites (until things started getting repetitive).

I played the L4D2 demo and was EXTREMELY disappointed. This is a definite rent for me.

Please, this game has tons of new content between all the new infected, game modes, melee weapons, new health items, new guns, and the five new, exapansive and varied campaigns. It's much bigger than the original, and you think it should be a cheap expansion? Give me a break.

And don't base your opinion on the first two chapters of the most 'normal' campaign. This game is better than the original in every way, while still retaining the core gameplay mechanics that made it great. It's still far and away the best mutliplayer experience out there, IMO. I mean, Hard Rain is just ****ing legendary. Dark Carnival almost equally so.

I'm old enough, hell, when I was 13 I walked into Target alone and bought GTA IV!

Like I said, I'm old enough, the game just sucks. Come on Valve!? What happened?
