Hi Guys, did you update the app? If you update the app todays level should show the new Totam new background. The new level chunks are mixed in with the old ones so its harder to see but anyone who has been playing for a while will notice them.
Huh? That can't be right. If you updated, the first thing you should see is a red 2.0 tab next to the July 4 level and it is indeed a new level with new music (and chunks that differ to playing the same level pre-update).
Everything seemed exactly the same as before, however, Rob Funnell's article clarified things more, as did Nitrome's post above. Just retried today's level. It is indeed a different background. Those new segments will be a nice addition as well; I've beaten all the levels & got all the fruit through today so I'm sure I've seen every possible section before the update. Thanks for the new characters and consistent updates @Nitrome! I've been having a blast with ReDungeon as well!
So far this is my game of the year. It will take something VERY special to change my mind about that. Looping game music drives me nuts, but I will turn the music back on to hear the new tunes. Thanks for the updates!!
It's supposed to be a news helicopter so 24 hours a day leap day news was what it was supposed to imply.
I really enjoyed the new background today and the new music that went along with it ## That pixel helicopter is eye candy! Kudos to the background artist and music person #
Thanks! I drew all the backgrounds I just finished on another beach one with a pirate vibe and am working on an electricity based background which may have a Frankenstein style Yolk type monster in it....still very much work in progress.
Awesome Frankenstein-Yolk!! What about an underwater aquarium background? You could pixel several different cool sea creatures along with really tall kelp ##
Yeah I like the idea of an underwater fish tank background. I actually had similar thoughts before and that became the waterfall background. It has fish swimming up it if you look close....they did originally jump in and out of the water but it looked rubbish so we made it more subtle.
Just unlocked the pink bird, it looks amazing! I really appreciate the effort of making subtles changes in the animation of each character, is a pleasure to see the good work the artist did all around the game. The new backgrounds are great and the new music is nice, maybe a little less catchy (the originals are brilliant) but still great quality. They bring my memories to the first Sonic in the Megadrive. Still impressed about how I came everyday to play the level. I have completed all of them since the release and I want to keep playing for long. Really excited about future updates, please keep them coming!
I really need to update my app! I've finished three days now since the update; whoops! Still loving Leap Day! Good work!!!
Soooooo much new stuff is coming to Leap Day! Coming very soon in the next update is 'End Zones'. This is a new section at the end of each level that is different every day as a new finale. It has a new dungeony tile set and is basically a new challenge chunk that is a unique to each day!
Beyond the trophy? As the last section? In addition to the last section, but before the trophy? Sounds cool!
Man this game just gets better and better. If anyone hasn't spent the $4 yet you are insane. Thank you Nitrome for making such a kick ass game and continuing To make it even better. I really like being able to choose when to use the side check points. Adding that really made a difference for me because I'm the guy that always just misses 1 damn fruit lol. I really love this game. Honestly I have all of Nitrome's offerings and this has become my favorite. Billy
Words cannot even describe how these last few posts make me feel. I'm beyond relieved I reinstalled the game, caught up, finally completed Checkpoint Charlie and have vowed to love Leap Day long time!
I love this game, I have played it every day since its launch (and even gone back to play an old level or two most days). I'm really impressed how much the developers are still working on this, adding new features all the time, and being very communicative. I hope we could see special 'days', such as a Christmas themed level on Christmas Day, Halloween, etc... It could even be funny to have those weird 'International Talk Like A Pirate Day' or 'International Donut Day' kinda levels, just as one offs... What do you guys think? Just throw in some real curve balls (the more random be better as far as I'm concerned!) The only other thing I can think of to 'improve' the game would be to have an option to design your own levels maybe? Perhaps that'll have to be a completely new app all together, but if the level sections are all in the database, then it would be great if you could choose sections, and make a custom level, or even send it to a friend to play? The custom level could last 24 hours before it disappears maybe? Finally, I simply love the soundtrack - as with all Nitrome games - I'd love to know where I could buy/download the tracks - anyone have any ideas?
All of what your suggesting is being considered. We have a cool new update out today that gives unique end chunk challenges each day in a new dungeon sub theme. There is also a new background (beach with a pirate vibe) that also introduces more new music. Currently were working on adding some new traps, two more themes to the game and getting some more characters ready for the presents. Weekly end bosses are being considered. Power ups are being considered. Special days are being thought about....we love the idea though we have to consider the practicality....we would have to probably load in special backgrounds for special days which would require an Internet connection which you don't currently. A level editor of some sorts is also under consideration though it's a pretty tricky one. The levels are made up of little parts and letting people make those would require some serious review time if we were to consider including the best in the game. Making levels as a challenge to others is cool but I'm not sure how much people would use it as it would take a while to make a level. We are interested in anything that might make the game more viral so anyone please feel free to share there ideas there. We are already considering some sort of timed challenge that you could send to friends with some sort of ghost marker so you can see how your doing. Also full on multiplayer online or local would obviously be awesome but we have to seriously give some thought before going there. Video sharing is also on our list though were unsure if recording would work as the session time to beat a whole level is quite long. Anyway....back to work!
