    Complete newbie here, never really played a plat former before on iOS and I have to say, I like what I am playing. Controls are smooth, music is not annoying and a different level each day sure offers longevity.

    Only problem is that I pretty much hate ads but as I am new to they pop up very often. As I am new and only played a little I do not really want to invest 4€ into the game yet but the ads already annoy me quite a bit. Not sure if I will stick with it long enough to warrant the iap or if the ads will get to me first. But good job getting a noob into these games:)

    So I still totally love this game and I can't believe I am still playing it! I actually stopped playing for a week or so, but the collectibles brought me back. And when I found out none of my previous trophies counted toward collectibles, I was a little miffed but figured it wasn't too big a deal. But I really gotta say: only earning collectibles by playing the current day SUCKS. What has already happened to me two or three times is that I get to the last part or two of a level, don't beat it on the actual day, and lose that credit towards collectibles because now when I finish the level the next day, it doesn't count. SO CRAZY FRUSTRATING.

    I get that it would be a weird system to allow endless back-tracking to gain levels, but maybe we could have more than 24 hours? Maybe it's just me, but life means sometimes I can only ALMOST beat a level a day, it would be nice to have like 48 hours or something.

    I think a good compromise would be if you at least start and get to a checkpoint on a current day's level, you can still go back and earn the level up experience from it even if you do that at a later date. That way you're still actively playing the game every day, but you're not punished if you don't actually have the time to sit down and fully finish a current day's level.



    My major wish for this game: An endless mode that is just one big level of randomly generated level chunks. I actually got kind of busy after this game came out so had a lot of days to catch up on, but now that I'm all caught up, I'm sad that I don't have anything to do once I've beaten a current day's level. Replaying old levels just isn't as satisfying. If this game had some sort of endless/survival mode thing, I'd probably never stop playing it, which could either be a good or bad thing :)

    I wouldn't go for endless mode because it would destroy the essence of the game. I don't see myself playing the daily level if I already have and endless mode and I will probably get tired of it sooner.

    The daily level system as it is works nice but once you become an expert the challenge start to dissapear. Right now I finished all the levels with fruits, so I play the new level each day for 10 minutes and that's all. Still fun to play but I strongly feel the repetition of the levels which I finish without almost any effort because I learned how to beat them.

    I think is the moment to introduce a way to score points. There's no recompense for playing without make checkpoints (only the achievements but only once), there's no recompense for killing enemies, no one for beat the level in less attempts or less time, no combo sistem for staying some time without touching the ground, etc.

    I hope they will add some of these features some day, they will add tons of fun to this already amazing game!

    We agree that adding an endless mode would destroy the game loop. It wouldn't actually be that hard to add one as originally earlier in development the game was an endless level a day but we changed it.

    The game has amazing retention which we hoped it would have because of the new level every day to draw people back. We put an end of the level to give people something to aim for each day but having a hard limit to what people can play each day we believe in hindsight has also been a contributing factor to retention.

    We think that stopping the player from burning out on the game with unlimited content further makes them want to come back to the game the next day. This was never really a consideration but it sort of makes sense.

    In terms of getting bored stick with it....we have a ton of new things on the way soon to spice things up. This week there should be an update which adds new level chunks and some new backgrounds (with new music) into the mix. We have an update following soon after that which is going to add a bit more challenge to the ends of levels that we think people are going to really dig.

    Alongside adding generally more variety to the mix were looking to add more depth to things like scores and sharing as we go.

    I wrote a guide about the prizes (sorry) and played the entire 83 days in the space of a few days. I plan to return to the game when new chunks are added, but as it stands... I'm free of the compulsion. For now.

    In private, I said the same to Metalcasket: if I had more levels to play and burn through in one day, I'd have dropped it much sooner.

    Kind of an interesting quandary too, how the premium unlock appreciates in value as time passes (but will probably kill retention of anyone purchasing it this late).

    Yeah, those are solid reasons to not go endless. While the level segments and overall design are definitely great, the new daily level mechanism really is the unique and special thing about this game. Leap Day definitely makes my "desert island five" - no internet connection or updates required for infinite new levels? Yes, please and thank you.

    How long is each level? And when should I active a checkpoint with fruits? Thanks

    Each level is 15 checkpoints long. It counts down so you can see how far you have to go.

    Most people say to avoid using fruit for the first few checkpoints as levels start easy and you are better using the fruit for later checkpoints.

    Update 2 hits on Monday. New Backgrounds with new music and over a third more level chunks to spice things up a bit! Update 3 is currently far into development too and we already have plans for Update 4!

    Is there any chance of adding sync between devices? Have been playing on my iPad and recently installed on my iPhone but don't have any of the unlocks...

    It's on our list of things we would like to to do. It would make sense to add cloud saving too as people seem to really like to keep playing rather than dropping it after a couple of days so multi device playing and device upgrading are going to become an issue of we don't address it.

    We certainly would like to add it but keeping people entertained with fresh gameplay elements trumps it at the moment.

    Playing for new characters has been awesome, but I keep thinking that the desire to get more could be turned up a little if the characters had different abilities. Like the guy with a spike helmet, what if he could kill enemies above him when he jumped up? Or, what if the reptile character had a triple jump? Kind of like Super Mario 2, where each of the characters was just slightly different, which meant there were more ways to play the game. The levels were all the same and there was never a part of the game that only one character could pass, but sometimes certain characters made particular parts easier.

    Sometimes when you jump at a wall and attempt to jump as soon as you touch the wall it will register as a double jump. This blocks you from performing an extra jump from the wall.

    The guy does the double jump flip animation as he jumps from the wall and then is unable to make another jump even though he should be able to. It's pretty frustrating.

    Also, once paying for the IAP the fruit loses its value in gaining check points since saves are free. Maybe we could add some element of "saving" fruit back in?

    Otherwise congratulations on the great game.

    ^ I saw that! I've been trying to find the "two exciting new worlds" & "hundreds of new levels" but everything seems to be exactly the same.

    Same here. I'm looking in the calendar, options, info etc etc. there's no info at all. I see nothing.
