Does anyone else find it hilarious that they placed the 'More Games' button right over the Agricola crate? Not long before these titans will have to step in the ring Agricola will have the advantage of Playdek's commitment to expansions, of which Agricola has quite a few.
Hah! I didn't even notice that! Agricola has a much greater spatial component and will likely benefit from playdek's great interface elements. I wonder who will pick up Ora Et Labora?
Version 1.1 submitted to Apple today! Here's what's coming: - fixed crash using Marketplace with only 1 Special building left - fixed bug where you can take an Offer for free - fixed Shipping bugs (can't use fewer ships, Wind Farm bug) - fixed bug with AI using Harbor Watch - fixed online Short games - fixed player names with angle brackets - fixed text being cut off on iPhone - fixed iPhone Retina text issues - fixed glitch with Luxury Yacht and other buildings remaining on screen - fixed glitch with feeding dialog after receiving chat message - tap your goods to see detailed view (so you can read food and energy values) - refund energy when cancelling building use (eg. Shipping Line) - energy payment "counts down" the same as food payment - player energy display includes Wind Farm if owned - tap round card to show round summary - round summary includes previous rounds - auto-pay Francs after taking a loan for feeding (since there's no other option at this point) - move list shown automatically when loading online game - move list shows amount of Offer taken We will now immediately continue with larger issues like iPad Retina, AI improvements, UI tweaks, etc. for version 1.2! Happy gaming!
Are any of the distinguished Le Havre fans here interested in some 4p madness? I would much rather play 4p with TA folk than BGGers or otherwise.
I'm interested in a 4-player game, even though as Sapphire Neo can attest, I don't really know what I am doing.
I thank you guys for patiently allowing me to play through games with you two. While still a complete noob at the game, I think I'm getting the flow a bit better as we play. Hey guys, what is that gold symbol listed at the bottom of the round info box next to the upcoming ship? Like when it states, "Wooden Ship 4" with that 4 looking like some sort of cost/payment in gold? The rules cover everything about that round box EXCEPT that final gold number.
Oh, why do required food values increment down as you meet the requirements but NOT required energy values?
Yeah, that's a bug, it's fixed in 1.1. Also, round cards tell you how much the next ship will be worth and whether the town will build a proposal building or special building. Wooden, Iron and Steel Ships increase in value over rounds but luxury ships decrease in value.
After waiting for summoner wars for so long... I decided to get Le Havre, best decision ever... This game is great! I guess delaying summoner wars has some good things >.> I hope retina update will come in a month or two. The text are quite blurry on the ipad 3 .
With the Business Office you can't appear to take Steel & Brick. All the other combos work for 5 goods, just not that one....
While I still suck horribly at the game (I'll see if I learn anything by applying some of the strategies discussed here), this game is really starting to get its grips on me (perhaps even more than Summoner Wars). I love how it takes the seemingly simple logistics of moving some raw resources about to feed your crew and make some buildings and turns it into a really deep game (Oh, I'm sorry, am I blocking you from being able to smoke those fish before the end of the round?).
Review from the parent site: http://toucharcade.com/2012/07/11/le-havre-review/ Thanks TA, and to all the users who posted such great comments on the review!
Game Impressions Talk about slow on the uptake, I just found out that each game only features up to 5 of the game's 36 Special buildings! Here I kept on thinking I just wasn't finding some of my key favorites in a game just because they were buried too deep in my opponents' vast pile of buildings. Can one simply force a loan BEFORE they're at 0 francs and need to feed some workers?
No, you can only take a loan when you have no resources left to feed your workers or if you have no Francs to pay the interest.
This was really handy, especially the basic strategies discussed near the end in the "Hamster" stage of the podcast. Oh, note to Codito, how the heck is the Marketplace's ability to help you choose the next Special not listed on the card? When that first came up I swore it was a bug as there was nothing on the card itself indicating this feature (granted, it is covered in the rules when discussing the buildings).
I have never played this game in person, but am absolutely loving this game on my iPad.. can't recommend it enough!
