Fun game. Or is it in both categories? Ashflow Well-Known Member Jan 9, 2011 787 0 0 MI #4 Ashflow, Jun 19, 2011 So what exactly do we do in this contest? I'm assuming it's highest score, but in standard, survival, or multiplayer? Also, Game Center sadly can't usually be trusted, so recquiring pictures couldn't hurt. Otherwise, seems like a fun contest for a fun game. Thanks for both! illumina Member Jun 12, 2011 7 0 0 #5 illumina, Jun 19, 2011 Yup, it will be the highest scores in Standard Mode, and somehow if there is a tie then we can look at Survival Mode score. The official rules can be found here http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=103418623067008&topic=17 have fun! Ashflow Well-Known Member Jan 9, 2011 787 0 0 MI #6 Ashflow, Jun 20, 2011 Ok, one more clarification question: you have to get the highest score on one level? Most of the entries would be around 6,000 then, right? Sorry for my confusion. illumina Member Jun 12, 2011 7 0 0 #7 illumina, Jun 20, 2011 It would be the sum of your highscores for each level. And that is what is shown on the standard mode leaderboard in game center. Hopefully this clarifies your question. illumina Member Jun 12, 2011 7 0 0 #8 illumina, Jun 20, 2011 Forget about what I said in the last post. We have simplified the rules a bit. Players with the highest scores in the highest levels in standard mode will be the winner. Sorry for the confusion. And good luck! DrPixel Well-Known Member Jun 12, 2011 124 0 0 Student Arizona, USA #12 DrPixel, Jun 21, 2011 Why can't the rules just be highest score on the leaderboards overall? I think that you actually made the rules a bit more confusing with the change. I've been working for 2 days trying to get as high as I can OVERALL, not just with certain levels. Ashflow Well-Known Member Jan 9, 2011 787 0 0 MI #13 Ashflow, Jun 21, 2011 me too i'd actually rather it be the total overall score for standard mode illumina Member Jun 12, 2011 7 0 0 #14 illumina, Jun 21, 2011 Last edited: Jun 21, 2011 Sorry I did not clarify the rules very well. - The players that reaches the highest level are the winners. - If there is tie between the highest level then the players with the highest scores on that level are the winners. - You post a screenshot of single player menu of the highest level you have reached with the standard mode score on the freeAppParty facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/pages/FreeAppParty/103418623067008 Hopefully this clarifies things I understand your concern, I will discuss with freeAppParty to see if they are willing to change the rules. Ashflow Well-Known Member Jan 9, 2011 787 0 0 MI #15 Ashflow, Jun 21, 2011 Thanks for clarifying the rules You don't have to go through the trouble of trying to change the rules, it'd probably just waste your time. Now on to level 20! illumina Member Jun 12, 2011 7 0 0 #16 illumina, Jun 22, 2011 Looking at the leaderboard, it seems like a number of you have already completed level 20 or are very close to completing. There are some pretty good players Since all of you had some time to play the game, can I get some feedback on what you guys think about the game? m13 Well-Known Member Feb 5, 2011 1,622 7 38 http://iosdevelopmentandbetatesting.blogspot.com/ #17 m13, Jun 22, 2011 It is quite fun, especially when you are on a mission. The controls is different and takes a little getting used to. The higher levels are considerably more challenging. Scoring is determined by skills and luck. While skills get better with practice, luck is, well, luck of the draw. I would like to see in the next version additional features such as rewarding after a number of speeding ups, pickup additional items such as time and lives, combo speed ups. Native iPad version would be nice as well. Haven't played multiplayer yet. I am looking forward to trying that out. 5 stars overall very polished snake game. Ashflow Well-Known Member Jan 9, 2011 787 0 0 MI #18 Ashflow, Jun 23, 2011 I'll fill in for m13 on multiplayer: it's awesome! Best part of the game, IMO (though the rest of the game is pretty fun too). Me and my brother have ha a blast with it so far. On a different subject, the controls usually work well, and it gets easier with experience, but there've been a couple times where I just veered off for no reason, which really sucks on confined levels like 20. :/ illumina Member Jun 12, 2011 7 0 0 #19 illumina, Jun 23, 2011 Glad that you guys like the game Ashflow, the problem you have experienced is interesting, I haven't really experienced a problem like that. Can you describe the problem in more details, and what caused the problem to occur so I can try to reproduce it? One thing I suggest is to try to keep your finger further away from the center of the spin wheel. While spinning, your finger has to loop around the center point of the spin wheel. If the center point is not inside the loop you make, chances are the snake will go in the opposite direction you intend it to. The spin wheel control does take a while to get use to. Reward points and combo speed ups seems like an interesting idea. I will have to think about it. An iPad version is definitely on my to do list. For the next update I am mainly focusing on multiplayer. 3 and 4 player support as well as voice chat. I will be periodically adding more single player levels as well, So stay tuned! Support us by rating and/or writing comments on itunes as well so we can keep the free updates coming. http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewContentsUserReviews?id=423705056&pageNumber=0&%20sortOrdering=1&type=Purple+Software&mt=8 Ashflow Well-Known Member Jan 9, 2011 787 0 0 MI #20 Ashflow, Jun 24, 2011 My problem is probably that I've done this, but it's easier to blame the game when your mad, which is most likely what I did. It's not really the game's fault so much as the experience needed not to stray too far or too close from the center. Sorry for concerning you. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
