Like a swipe maneuver -- yeah, that would help, especially early on.

Went free but can't download in US store due to app being modified. But thanks for the Chinese New Years gift! I'll grab it later.

Oh dear lord. Time for the cryers to come out! "I paid three whole dollars for this game and now it's free!!!" Sorry, I know I'm terrible.

It does feel like a rip off , no matter the amount of money. The game is awful which only makes this worse ...

I didn't get this because the controls sounded horrible and the combat looked pretty lame. But for free I figured what the hell?

The controls are not quite as bad as I thought they may be but is there any way to reverse or turn around when you aren't moving? Get into a corner and it seems like there's no way to get out.

And the combat is very basic. Just curious if anyone played enough of it to see if the combat evolves at all.

Otherwise I'm glad I didn't pay for it.

Uber funny, as I was ridiculed for being critical of this for not having played it. Well, seems all my assumptions were spot on based on what the video showed. Smh & lol.

The game is ambitious, like they really tried to make this a stand out game. The art style and graphics are pretty great, but the combat does grow slightly, there's more abilities you unlock with each soldier and missions have different objectives. There's a slight manager aspect to this game once you go to the world hub.

Exactly. I think people coming to Last City expecting an action adventure game will be disappointed. What makes the game interesting to me is the combination of elements -- traversal, combat, management, tactic, and role playing. None of the individual elements is brilliant (though once you "get" the controls, traversal is a lot of fun), but IMO they work pretty well together, and amount to a pretty original game.

I am glad that I paid for the game -- always happy to support a developer who is trying something different.

BTW, HandOfGod, I never ridiculed you.

I'll give it a little more time. BTW, I meant to say the controls are NOT quite as bad as I thought they'd be.

Also, for some reason, inverting the controls made it much easier to get out of corners.

Where did you see the great graphics ? They are quite basic , like something from 2011 . The texturing , in particular, is almost non existent .

I'm lost as to why people are troubled with the controls. It feels extremely simple. I've had quite a bit of fun both skating and in combat. I'll play more a bit more later, but I am surprised to hear so many complaints. The game is not bad by any means.

Anyone else have the problem where the controls become completely unresponsive?

Btw it doesn't look like a bad game at all. The only thing made me concerned is the negative comments about controls.

Controls definitely need a bit of tweaking, but this isnt really that bad of a game outside of that. They have sensitivity controls in the options menu which helped me a bit.

Combat is quite simple. Get close to enemies to put targetting reticules on them, and tap the reticule of the monster you want to attack. Alternatively, you can tap anywhere and your character will attack the closest targetted (with reticule on them) enemy.

In between exploration and combat there is a good amount of variety in the character's maneuvers and actions. He dashes to jump gaps, wall dashes, wall skating (on magnetic walls only it seems), and a combat combo system.

I have fought only the first boss so far, and i can tell this game has a lot of potential.

Controls will need some tweaking. If you keep your camera finger on too long, it seems the sensitivity increases which is a bit weird, where one tiny swipe can mean a 180-degree turn. Speaking of 180, the game needs a tap-to-180, coz i think that'll help a lot, but i also think it will need a button to be accurate since it will conflict with the combat controls.

The controls are still playable though, just to be clear. But i had to drop the sensitivity a few to make it so for me.

Anyways the game has potential, mostly on its exploration part that requires varied maneuvers, but the controls need to be addressed first.

Visuals definitely isnt bad, just isnt the best, but i gotta say i do love the design of the main character. The variety in the monster visuals is nice too.

ipad air here, I get to the first big arena with a bunch of parasites in the tutorial and at some point the repeated tapping to attack the nearest disables turning and nothing I try fixes it.
