Got it. I did not experience any crash and ... yes I would have loved the control to be placed somewhere else ... but I do not agree with TA. It is a visually nice game and it plays well (at least so far). Pleased I took it.
NO ITS NOT. The game is great on the iphone. I really don't understand the front page review. It seems like it was written by someone who would have hated the console versions too. The iphone version is a direct port of the main version. Every level, weapon, move is intact. The graphics really are not that bad at all and the controls are no more diffictult than playing it on the PC in my opinion. I urge you not to let this rediculous review put you off missing out on a fantastic iphone game. I have completed the PC version and I am thrilled to have pretty much the exact same experience now available in my pocket. What more do you want??!!
Really? I was put off by the review but was thinking of getting it before, how are the controls working out for you?
I played xbox version and this is basically the same. One thing I find hard is shooting enemies an rolling away from them and also multiplayer didn't work for me but it was like an hour after release.Game is great a really like graphics on ipad an animations, effects.
Its not that bad as front page states. But dont expect same graphics as on consoles.Controls are ok for me.I like it anyway. One thing framerate drops quite often.
I cannot understand the preview on the front page either. It runs fine on my Iphone 4 and the graphics aren't that bad at all. I played through the first level and no dropping frame rate/stuttering whatsoever. Controls seem to be fine as well, though aiming needs a bit adjustment. The button layout is intuitive and I've only come across some problems during a fight, switching weapons unwillingly. I couldn't test the multiplayer since the game is only a few hours old. Overall it's fun to play and I'm glad i got it despite the harsh preview
Got it for my iPad. Looks and controls surprisingly well, though I guess you have to adjust the HUD to the very bottom so it's easier to play, plus having the Jump attached to the right stick is cool. Anyway, it's actually quite good, though the game consistently crashed during the second cutscene- to get past I just jammed on the Skip button and from there it seemed fine. I hope they fix that with a patch or something. So far enjoying how this looks, plays and sounds. Never thought I'd see Lara on the iPad, but it's pretty cool. ^_^
Agreed I changed my mind and decided to pick it up I have had one crash so far but that's after about an hour and a halves play so nothing critical and it brought me right back to where I was on restarting . Controls I'm finding pretty ok placement could be a bit lower I suppose but not that much of an issue . Good thing is you can move your finger way outside of the directional stick and it still works . As for graphics and sounds this looks very nice as you say so obviously not suffering from the same graphical problems the iPhone version has . I'm glad I had a change of mind on this one
I may wait until there's an update, but then again, this probably won't happen til mid, end of january now i reckon. So i might take the plunge lol.
I don't understand the preview either... the game looks good and works fine. No bug issues. Brad Nicholson must have been drunk somehow (just kidding, of course), while testing this baby. Controls work very well, got used to them in 2-3 minutes. This is a great game!
I got the iPad version, and had a friend who played the PSN version, he told me it was identical, other than the obvious difference in control. And it was amazing. Certainly not as bad as the review made it out to be. I dont know if the iPhone version is really that different.
Well I tried it again this morning and again it crashed so I rebooted and for some reason it worked. Great looking game on the iPad. Controls take some getting used to.
Playing on iPhone 4, really enjoying what I have played so far! I was adamant I wouldn't get this after reading the impressions on the front page, but I'm really glad I accidentally pressed buy this morning now Caveats:- I've only put in a short amount of time so it could still all go to hell in a handbasket yet. Also I'm only playing singleplayer, mabe the coop is totally borked? However, graphics are fine, sound is great and controls are great. Overall, so far I'm totally not regretting getting this!
Only got through the first level of this so far (most of my night has gone to RR2), but count me as another who's glad he bought it despite the negative front page review. Framerate has been fine for me on an iPhone 4, and I've had no problem with the controls. I do have to say though... Everything looks freakin' tiny. This is probably less of a problem with the iPad version, but sometimes I wish I could zoom in.
Yeah, but if it would be bigger, you couldn't see the enemies in time and die horrible, horrible deaths! And the bloody spiders are frickin' fast... Well, I am glad that the people relied and trusted me and enjoy the game. Lara is simply loveable. Maybe Brad had a preview or unfinished version of the game? Otherwise, I can't explain his negative opinions.
