Lol the PC version is now quite cheaper than the App Store version and probably without all the bugs. On Steam now for 5.10. In fact it's the Euro price but if I remember well Steam is practicing the very unfair 1€ = 1$ making effectively Europe players finance USA players as if they was in need of money help. Anyway even for the Euro perspective it's quite cheaper than the iPad version and I'm tempted except I don't play that often on PC.
I've been debating between Aralon and Real Racing 2 for a while now, but now this is on my radar! I guess I wanna get the most fun game for my buck out of those three. Also, how many hours is this game and how's replayability?
I'd say get Aralon, but I'm biased . As for Lara Croft, I would guess that it takes about 5-6 hours to beat the game. There's a ton of achievements and challenges, though, which should give folks plenty of reason to replay specific levels.
I've had crashes here and there, but a second and third restart usually fixes things. The GameCenter syncing simply doesn't work; I've tried everything and I've still got zero achievements, despite having earned quite a few in-game. So it's got problems. It needs an update. There's a good game buried under all the problems, no one is disputing that. Despite all the issues, I'm still trying to play through and enjoy the title. Except for one thing.... ...there is absolutely no way to beat the giant spider queen Legion (or something like that). There is no alternate route, nothing. You jump to the tiny platform, the gates lock on all sides and she kills you in three hits. Not cool. The game, for all intents and purposes, is unpassable by the end of the third level.
I'd really love to buy this, especially since I've been playing games on my iTouch and iPad much more than my 360 lately. But I'm going to have to wait until it comes down in price and they (hopefully) fix some of the bugs. And being available on the 360 and Steam for $5 bucks doesn't help them. I just bought the 360 version to hold me over until they hopefully fix the issues.
I don't replay levels for anything. Im not a MP snob, who only wants to play MP or must have a MP mode in every game that I play, but without PvP MP, there is no "replayability" in any game, as far as I'm concerned. There's no such thing as a replayable game to me. I guess that's part of the reason why I suffer from video game A.D.D. I would go Aralon over Real Racing 2 as well. Like some others of pointed out, RR2 looks great and all, but the gameplay itself can best to described as infuriatingly imbalanced. Way too easy on the easy difficulty setting and way too hard on the normal difficulty setting.
I guess I'm just wondering about the "fun factor" now between Aralon and Lara Croft. I've heard Aralon is kinda bland, and I've gone back to finishing up GTA: CW with its over-the-top personality.
"Fun" is probably the most personal of assessments. I've been playing Aralon for months now (as a beta tester) and I'm still having fun with it while testing the forthcoming update. Lara Croft is fun in different ways -- more about the challenge than about immersion. You could say that there's more gameplay variety in Lara Croft, but a game like Aralon gives you more freedom to play at your own pace and make of it what you will. Neither Lara Croft nor Aralon have the over-the-top personality of GTA:CW. Few action adventures or RPGs do.
I'm SUPER sorry for getting off topic, but just one more question (maybe): Which world seems more expansive, GTA:CW or Aralon? It's nice to have a lil world in your pocket that you can tool around in whenever you want. I just love how GTA seems to breathe with life, and I'm hoping Aralon feels alive and active, too.
Lara Croft is my 2010 GOTY for sure, started it and couldn't stop until I had completed all the levels. If you want more details go back and read some of the posts in this thread.
Definitely fun game after playing solo for a while. I'll be on tonight if anyone wants to run co-op, hit me up. GC: Ness_
I just bought this game with my Christmas gift cards, and I freakin love it! It's a lot of fun, and the graphics look really good even on my now-aging 2nd gen Touch.
