Howlingwolf Well-Known Member Feb 18, 2010 2,208 0 0 Uk #4 Howlingwolf, Feb 25, 2011 Game Impressions Ok picked this up and even after a few minutes I can see I'm gonna love this . It's basically an avoid the traffic game but the differences here from other games of this type are one your on a bike and two the traffic actually indicates and changes lane. Graphics and sound are very well done as are the controls which are tilt to steer from lane to lane and touch to speed up which also sees you pulling off a wheelie. Only thing I would like too see is OF or Gamecenter added as at the minute online highscores are handled by there own servers . But overall for a buck I highly recommend this game especially as its universal too BazookaTime Well-Known Member Sep 30, 2009 5,340 1 36 Kansas http://www.paulmcraelind.com #5 BazookaTime, Feb 25, 2011 I bought this a while back and it is a really good game. djflippy Well-Known Member Mar 9, 2009 4,441 0 36 #6 djflippy, Feb 25, 2011 Huh, new to me. Does the blurb in the description mean that you get "close call" points for near misses, like Crazy Taxi, and do they combo? If the answer is yes, you had me at hello. Feels really polished with good graphics, controls, sound etc. It's easy to recommend to anyone (especially fellow motorcyclists ). The points build up the longer you wheelie, for example you start off getting an additional 5 points every second and that increases to 10, 15, 20 etc the longer you hold the wheelie. But it's harder to control when wheelieing which makes it more challenging. NotYou Well-Known Member Sep 22, 2008 2,654 20 0 Colorado #9 NotYou, Feb 25, 2011 I did the real thing for a few years in college (SF Bay Area, where lane splitters are just part of traffic). I don't know if that makes this more or less interesting. doodlejumper Well-Known Member Jan 27, 2010 2,881 2 0 Stuck in traffic #10 doodlejumper, Feb 25, 2011 How does this compare to Hit n' Run, Trucker's Delight, or Racer? I just happened to come across this thread and thought I'd say hi. I'm really glad you're liking the game and I hope we'll be able to provide some cool updates in the future. Our other project in the works right now is an action RPG called "The Gunsmith" which is coming along nicely. Thanks for the positive reviews and please tell as many people as you can about Lane Splitter! It would be great if we could get enough interest for Touch Arcade to notice us and post a review. Gabrien Well-Known Member Nov 24, 2009 5,148 0 36 #15 Gabrien, Feb 27, 2011 Game Impressions Nice game, but almost too nice for the shallow gameplay objective. I came away wishing for more of an "Outrun" type of experience from it than yet another endless runner/racer/whatever. And give me a bloody brake! That said, the above is more of a credit to the core gameplay than an actual complaint though. fractivSammy Member Feb 27, 2011 15 0 0 fractiv co-owner http://www.fractiv.com #16 fractivSammy, Feb 28, 2011 Will definitely post The Gunsmith in the upcoming games forum at some point. We're planning on putting together a little trailer vid probably within the next couple of months, so when that's done we'll post it. In the mean time you can see some screenshots at our website at http://www.fractiv.com. Thanks Gabrien for your feedback. I agree the game would lend itself to an "outrun" type of progression pretty nicely. Maybe a "Lane Splitter World Tour" sequel might be in the cards one day? As far as allowing a brake, we tried that option early in development, and it just turns out that the game isn't as fun with it. The ramping up of speed and increased intensity is really what makes the game shine. I'm really enjoying Lane Splitter. In fact it's probably the best 59p app I've bought. I just have one suggestion, to add another game mode where there is constant heavy traffic. I like the heavy traffic parts but it takes a while to reach them. I'm looking forward to hearing more about Gunsmith as well. Those screenshots look great.
