The Enigma room guys really went above and beyond for us! Additionally, the wooden box is an actual functioning puzzle box. The clues themselves were made by us in Hugh's workshop with the help of his laser cutter, so they were a very attractive set of physical artifacts. Oh well
Maybe we could have a contest or random drawing to give the solvers the physical clues personally I think it would be awesome to have a physical reminder of all your hard work as well as the hard work put in by everyone here to solve the adventure As for future arg content, can't wait to see what you guys can come up with! Hope to find a lot of familiar faces to help solve it
Were there any other forums/groups outside of this one that organized to solve the puzzles too or was this the only public community to take part?
It's a tragedy that no one that was on the hunt was able to make it to the Enigma Room. I blame the planet, due to it being so big and separating places with lots of water. Stupid planet... If only some of us could have slid onto a launcher in real life and made it over there! Wonderful job on crafting this hunt, Muscat! Seriously, this was probably the coolest thing to come out of mobile gaming last year. The way you were able to distribute puzzles and clues throughout Land Sliders, Yeti Mountain, GCAP, the web/twitter, and physical locations all over the world is just too slick for words. Pretty freaking awesome! I hope you run some more puzzles in the future. Even if you don't do any more geocaching, putting some wicked puzzles to keep us stumped would be pretty great.
Next mission, beat Vacthoks score I wanted to say thanks to everyone at Pretty Great, everyone who made the ARG possible and of course to everyone on this forum. I have been following this from the start and it's been a lot of fun working through each stage. I, among others have come up with some crazy theories over the last few months which has been fun and i'm sad it has come to a close. The box at the Enigma rooms is amazing, that'd be an ace prize for the highest game score by the summer or in a new tournament mode ;-) But awesome job and all credit to the designer who made that! It's incredible! Muscat, awesome work. The ARG has made Land Sliders so much more than a fantastic game and I hope you guys have every success building on the games success in 2016. Thanks all!
This was a really great experience and I'm kind of sad to see it end for now even if I was just watching from the shadows for most of it. I enjoyed telling other people I knew about this game and even tried to get a friend to go through all the steps. That's a really cool looking box by the way! Thanks for the ARG experience and for making Land Sliders! I look forward to more pretty great things.
So it has come to an end. Wow, so the journey is finally over? I've been following this thread since there were 20 some odd pages, checking in almost everyday, and now the solution is finally here. I wish I had made an account sooner to comment before; where I live I was nowhere at all near any of the flash drives, the enigma room, and my puzzle solving skills are absolutely zero. Anyways, congrats to all those who participated and great work everyone! It was a fun ride
One of the steps in the solving process utilized the keypad, but yeah, it is kind of strange how that seems not to be part of the final answer. I wonder if the keypad will remain in the game after this, and if there is any other function yet to be revealed...
Well, as of now, the keypad is still the only way to get the "Go on a real adventure" achievement by entering in the original code. Unless that achievement is removed, the keypad should stay (although presumably as time goes on, *finding* that code here in the forums will probably get harder)
I think it would be cool if they updated the whathappenedinlandsliders website to be a recap of the real life adventure, then update the game so that the stone tablets randomly give you one of the keypad codes. That way, players new to the game will be able to solve the keypad (to get the achievement) and get the clue that leads them to the site so they can see "what happened in land sliders." It would probably be a good idea to change the keypad message that pops up from the cypher to plain text (and possibly even a direct link you can tap on).
That's a great idea! We had submitted the next update just days before the ARG was solved, so we will be shuffling some things around to keep the right mix of posterity and representing the solved state of the puzzle in the update after that
I deleted Land Sliders after I got all of the initial characters and, quite frankly, lost interest in the ARG. But, I sort of regretted it a week or so after. I reinstalled sometime after that, but I guess the start screen made me assume there was no cloud save/device data for the game, so I deleted it again. But, now that the article about the end of the ARG came out, I reinstalled with the idea that I was going to have to start from scratch. But I didn't! And that was really exciting. And I can't stop playing, just like at the beginning. I'm sort of just rambling and gushing here, but, first off, I'm really glad TA gave Land Sliders Game of the Year. This game really does have "it" (whatever "it" is). Second off, I'm really liking the character differentiation based on upgradable skills. Third, this game is just so much fun! I don't know if I have another game right now that makes me feel happy inside the way Land Sliders does that. tl;dr Yay, Land Sliders!
Nice work mate. The event thing is a bit confusing to a noob like me. Edit: oh look! I've got a piggy!
