Muscat, help. We've relied on this community which is relatively tiny to solve this. In hindsight we should have contacted random people in Sydney to get involved but this isn't Reddit big (yet?) Basically, are we all to late to try and get someone along to the escape rooms in Sydney or is someone on it? Based on how easily some people have solved some mighty complex cryptology puzzles it seems we're not great at the real life stuff! But could be! :-/
is the escape room in Sydney the only one? i think i saw someone putting a list of possible escape room from around the world. I live in Texas I will look into that and see if there is one near where i live.
How about some optimistic straw grasping? Muscat said in that YouTube clip that an actor would hand someone a suitcase. Why an actor? Why not just the staff at the Enigma Room? Perhaps the silence is part of the puzzle. Seems a little odd that Muscat wouldn't come to the forums to say "well, thanks for paying along" when nobody showed up... Right?
There's an escape rooms type thing near me. http://logiclock.co.uk Just saying... I'm all up for assembling a party. Maybe 1 x thief, 2 x mages and a couple of warriors. Haha, or maybe just me and a few mates on a night out
And it would be massively cool if you could build in this forum thread into the game. We're talking to the great Tgulrintych on Twitter but there aren't any easy ways to connect to the world. You have 1 mil + downloads. Introduce them to the ARG game discussions through the app. Big things could happen.
Okay, thought I was making progress. The symbols in the latest tweet reminded me of the glitch webpage, and yes, they are the same as the title at whathappenedinlandsliders. The </> made me look in the source code. At the end of the source code is: <!--??/"enigmaroom"shift.png--> Which I assume is giving us a hint for an image url. I tried some obvious ones, but I think the "enigmaroom" has to be replaced with something to get the filename. I also assume the image is on the whathappenedinlandsliders site rather than the enigmaroom site, but I could be wrong! Over to you good folks!
Nice work! The <!-- and --> parts are commonly used to identify a comment in the source code and won't appear on the actual website. The clue is most likely just the ??/"enigmaroom"shift.png
I wonder if "shift" is part of the file name or if it is instructions for how to get the file name out of "enigmaroom". I tried running a few vigenere ciphers on some old phrases (QLDCALLONTX, the symbols in clue, etc) using "enigmaroom" as a key, but nothing obvious jumped out. Another possibility is that someone still needs to go back to the Enigma Room and get a key phrase/word from there to shift "enigmaroom"?
this puzzle is really above my level lmao ill keep thinking about it, but im not well versed in cryptography and the like. a little bummed about how the puzzle hype seemed to have slowed down a bit baby steps i suppose
I just straight read all 121 pages of this. I'm dying here. This is brilliant. It's also frustrating. I will be following this thread. I'm dying for the achievement and to see where this leads.
Many of those characters require a shift key. There a connection there? Perhaps "unshifted" they're coordinates?
Seeing the .jpg was in the code I wondered if entering QADCALLONTX code would do anything if input into www.whathappenedinlandsliders.com - it didn't :-( The old method still works, i'm assuming the 'C' is from TGulrintych? I could never understand how the order worked to get the solution to that clue. The ?#!:&%*#(1</>] clue is likely to be suggesting to do something on the symbol chart on the website perhaps?
Just realised I got the first A wrong in the first screenshot. Don't have the energy to try it again right now!
That clue lead us to the website page source. ?#!:&%*#(1 is the website name and </> is a symbol for view source. At the bottom of the page source, their was an added comment which was not there when we first solve the website clue Attached is the source code showing the clue, not sure on how to solve it yet /"enigmaroom"shift.png .
