Updated the Google doc to show that Larry lives is a part of the solution. Also made it easier for any newcomers to review and join in. Link below: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19l4wKAUEsfJuVqW1odljxeyr5t2QAuen14oBpiN9CUA/edit?usp=sharing
I love that there is this global treasure hunt going on. It seems so whimsical and fantastic. I must admit that I'm confused about the particulars of this adventure that you guys are on. Could somebody sum it up for me? Or even better, is there an article or blog that succinctly tells this story? (I'm way too busy and lazy to read all 108 pages of this thread) Thanks in advance. And keep going. You can do it!!
It started with hidden geocaching coordinates placed within the game. As the locations were visited, usb sticks were found containing images which were pieced together to reveal a code. The code was used on the sundial panel in the game to reveal a vigenere cypher leading to a website. Website contained a puzzle of letters and numbers which ultimately revealed a Twitter account name. We needed to get the account to 100 followers to let him start posting pixelated images leading us to a slide presentation by one of the developers during GCAP15. The slide shown gave the Larrylives clue which is where we are now. That's a quick summary about where we are so far Edit: maybe someone could create a summary Google doc so newcomers can catch up on what happened so far and join our hunt!
I'm just thinking about the logistics of this puzzle! If the latest idea turns out to be true the LarryLives text not only is close to revealing the release date for LS1.2 when viewed the right way up (it was 11.4 but could have been committed to Apple on 11.1). Then upside down it reveals a date and time to attend an event, at a cryptology type game... It's astounding to think of the effort that takes to set up. I hope it turns out to be right, it would be amazing and hats off to the PrettyGreat team! I'm sure you're having as much fun as us with the ARG and the game itself. Go Australians!
(lol - some hints wouldn't be all bad.) I still think we're missing something though - the 2.15 seem to fit nicely with 2015, but after that it all seems like a bit of a crapshoot... Also, has anyone noticed how "LarryLives" aren't all the same size? For example, LarryLives are all the same height, but the other letters sit a bit lower, with the y sitting the lowest (if you look at the top alignment)? (Also wondering whether LarryLives/LarryLiues is an anagram of something?)
So I'm not going to actually reveal any new information, I'll simply draw attention to information that is already available. There are actually multiple hints out there already, but some of them are disguised as something else. I'll keep it vague at first and then if people are still struggling I'll slowly make it more and more specific. For now, just the above paragraph will do as Hint #1
so piggybacking off of this idea if you turn the larrylives upside down you see something like "Sa11" or "Sall" not sure that means anything at all though.
Again, this may be unrelated, but just noticed that the largest letters in LarryLives (ie La---Li-es) all appear in the phrase "Land Sliders" - so the remaining letters (ie --rry--v--) don't appear anywhere in that phrase.
Not sure if relevent but there are the same number of letters in LarryLives as in Oct 1.1.1 LS1.2 L a r r y L i v e s O c t 1 1 1 L S 1 2
So if Muscat says clues are out there but they may not be recognised as clues, what else have we been given? Perhaps the rest of the slide that was released? We've focused on the words but is it possible the picture itself has a clue?
