Muscate looked a bit disappointed because we are spending too much time on this clue. The solution is something really simple, so simple that we didn't even think about it. But what???
Maybe there is a connection between these 4 sections, larrylives is the main clue, all others are bonus clues...
Been lurking this thread for a while but since everyone is stuck I'll add my ideas into the mix. I haven't had the time to actually follow through on any of these ideas yet, but here they are. 1. LarryLives is 10 characters long. My guess is that this is the cipher to a code that needs to be entered on the Restricted Access keypad thing in the game that we had to use before. 2. If I'm right, the bottom part is probably the key to the cipher then. It may or may not be worth noting that the bottom part has 10 characters if you remove the periods. Alternatively, 1.1.1 could map to "Larry" and LS1.2 (or L51.2) could map to "Lives" somehow, with "oct" being a clue about the type of code. 3. I think this last idea is likely to be a step in the wrong direction, but just in case I thought I would point out that a lot of the characters can be interpreted as other characters if you turn the text upside down. Even more of a shot in the dark - maybe turning the device upside down on the keypad changes something (I haven't seen the keypad for a while).
I like the cypher idea, but seeing the upside down letters reminded me of something. Remember when the patch notes were posted (page 50)? There were two that referenced numbers. One was "6:1:4:179 has overlapping geometry" the upside down letters with the periods could be 2:1511:1:1 and refer to an object in the game?
I agree. I don't believe we need 1.2 to solve this, otherwise Muscat wouldn't be coming to our aid trying to recruit more help. LS1.2 upside down looks like 2.157 to me, but I haven't gotten far from there.
If you convert LarryLives to octal it becomes 114 141 162 162 171 114 151 166 145 163 edit: although if the L's are lowercase it becomes 154 141 162 162 171 154 151 166 145 163 I can't tell the case from that font
