What if the numbers coming with the new tweets are supposed to make it easier for us to put the pieces together. The puzzle image had a 2 so maybe the clue "connection" is the second piece. The cat enthusiast picture now has a number 6. So maybe it could be "? Connection ? ? ? Cat Enthusiast". Or maybe the cat enthusiast is just meant to be Character...? Edit: new clue was the third piece of the cat enthusiast, waiting for the combined photo to be posted
I'm thinking the answer is a response to the Twitter when they were trying to connect to us? Trying different wordings to see if I can make a phrase
I'm feeling the same way, we don't seem to be any further ahead after 14 pictures than we were after the first picture

Ok, so the puzzle pieces images was tweeted with the number 2. The final cat enthusiast image was tweeted with the number 6. The original map search results image was retweeted a couple of hours ago with the number 3. I imagine we'll be seeing more images retweeted with numbers so we can put them in order. The fact that these have a certain order makes me think we aren't looking for a connection between the images anymore. I'm thinking we are dealing with another cypher of some kind.
And if it is a clue it could be that what image is of comes in that position in a word, for example we don't have a number 1 yet so the first letter is unknown, the second letter would be the first letter of the google search that yields that image as a result so C and so on. If it is this then so far we have ?ca??c(e)
