Hopefully more photos are on the way. And a suggestion to anyone enjoying this mystery: there are some interesting points that have been made in the comments. If you don't want to read all of them, at least go back 5 pages or so and get the latest. You will save yourself the trouble of posting information that was discovered days ago. This is a team effort, after all.
This looks like a good old fashioned puzzle. Have been editing in Photoshop and you can cut and move the squares to make coherent words. Will continue in the morning.
I don't know if it's useful, but the name of the file (image) is CQrDbf5UAAAlSkz.png CQrD = secured ? f5U = if I view ? ISk = I ask ?? I don't know.
Filename isn't relevant. When you upload a picture to Twitter, it automatically gives it a name. I just uploaded one called "image.png" and when trying to save it, it's called "CQrixX5UYAA7ZPz.png". Only thing we can be sure of is that it was a .png when it was uploaded. It's also been manipulated since the white pixels were added to the image, as you can see the anti-aliasing/smoothing around the coloured/existing squares. Doesn't seem to be any EXIF data in the image, either. But I don't think you can have that in PNG anyway.
Hmm back to square one with the image then, I was assuming we'd get more chunks of it and be able to overlay them but perhaps not
FWIW, someone (@MichaelTackes) noted: "For the curious: this is a screenshot of MonoDevelop and (probably) a C# source file." "Both are used in game development with the Unity engine." From that, I'd say the clue isn't in what of the image is left, but what was removed (ie. the white space). Also might be of note that the "pixels" are 6x6 and the image is 600x600. So the white masking pixels have a resolution of 100x100.
Good point. I really don't think we're supposed to put those pixels together tho (as waystar suggested). To me, what seems to appear is a html code, and it's making me wonder if maybe something is hiding in the html code of a page ? I checked whathappenedinlandsliders.com and found nothing. Any other ideas ?
Is there an easy way to get the game files from an iphone to a computer, on an android it's a simple drag drop from the device but i'm not as familiar with iphone
I'm jailbroken and tried to have a look at the files when I was trying to work out the "Restricted" code, but couldn't find anything of interest at all. Nothing obvious anyway, and nothing named suspiciously... just "world 1" or whatever.
I tried rotating and overlaying the pattern on itself to see if anything would emerge. I got nothing.
