I never realized just how many user created levels i've finished.. and @Anders: some of the achievements are buggy? Like 'World domination' and something with Therapy involving finishing levels without touching anything.
Yes some of the achievements are buggy..all the achievements that include to beat the creator time (beat the maker,World dominator) because to achieve them you have the possibility to beat the designer time only the first time you try that level,so you have just one chance(and isn't in the intention of the dev. i think). The same logical is behind the achievement "Afraid of germs". This and other bugs (like a missing image of the "main menu" button in the download section) will be fixed in the next update that should be coming the next month. I'm not a dev but i think to know the answer so here it is
Yes i understand, all we have differents opinions,it's a good thing. Just want you noted that if between 10 people 9 think that L2 deserves a 4,and just one think that it's a 3,probably this one have the wrong opinion or an unattractive one .(or is by far the most clever maybe ). i told you why for me your motivations aren't totally credible..but if you had play l2 and think that is a 3,ok,i just don't agree For the search level by authors,i played l2 for about 8 hours but have not missed it..however i read somewhere in this thread that devs are considering it,so maybe it will be added in the next update..maybe
I think I need to help out Tim a little bit here Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and just because one guy likes it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone else should agree. That goes the other way around too, just because someone doesn't like it, it doesn't mean that everyone else won't like it -- it's just one man's opinion. The physics are spot on, but if you don't like realistic physics and prefer the physics in say Super Monkey Ball 2 or Dark Nebula (try it out if you haven't, great game), fine. It's modeled after the real thing and it is pretty much frictionless. I don't agree that downloading level packs in tedious though -- just click the download button (downward arrow) and it'll download in the background. Ten taps = 10 level packs = 50-100 levels. That should last about an hour or two. You can download as many as you want simultaneously, it's all handled in the background. Sure, we could a 'download all packs', but then you would up with thousands of packs of varying quality, and I'd say you wouldn't appreciate all the necessary scrolling and removal of bad level packs We have tried the level editor on kids and 70 year olds, and they all seem to get the hang of it. It should be easy to use for basic stuff (click and drag), but also flexible to do whatever you want to accomplish (well, more or less). I don't really know how it could have been simpler to use to be honest. But then again, if someone finds it hard to use, there are probably more people out there that think it's hard to use too. The editor is updated almost everyday, and we have added several features that make it easier to use, I think the latest thing we added was 'Tip of the day'. Check it out daily. About searching, I totally agree, see below. Tim is right, it is def more user friendly to be able to search for level pack names instead of an ID, simply because it's easier to remember a name. The sole reason is because of limitations in Google's database implementation. We will look into it if we can hack together something (internally ugly) to make it work with author name and level pack name as well. Right now, the ID search is better than nothing. Plus, the 'More levels by this author' feature is very useful in the meantime (don't know if Tim found that one). If you look at other games with similar functionality, like LittleBigPlanet for the PS3, most of their marketing were about the community aspect -- create, share, play, rate. The server/editor/community part of this game is huge, a lot of work has gone into to make these things work smoothly and to be user friendly (which is were LPB failed, it was hard to find good user created levels). And thanks for those kind words.
Yup, there are some small bugs. Notably known bugs so far (more or less): * Awards regarding beating designer time (only possible the first time you play a level, plus it is not saved). Will be fixed and recovered in the update. * Awards regarding not touching stuff (only possible the first time you play a level, but it is saved). Will be fixed in the update, but cannot be recovered. * The image for a button is missing, but the button still work. All known bugs have been fixed, and we have added tons of tweaks and small improvements everywhere, plus new features and content as well. Will be submitted early next year.
Yeah we dropped the price of L1 due to competition, and also because of the fact that it was getting quite old. I think it's safe to say that we won't drop the price of L2 in the next six months (unless something unforeseeable happens), we don't want to screw our customers by having a sale two weeks after release.
Cool, didn't know it was out in retail stores yet! Which store did you go to? I think we have ALL our games in Apple retail stores now, that gotta be some kind of record (at least Sway and Touchgrind, L1 was probably replaced with L2).
Played this more, it's awesome . But I found a glitch, maybe? I cannot get through this gap, no matter what. Help?
That level stopped me from playing this game for awhile. I had the same problem but you'd be shocked how easy it is. Just give your iPod's left side a hard tap on your palm.
achievements Just noted (after 8 hours of play )that the achievements have their own color i.e. "preschool" is green because it's easy to achieve or "graduate" is black cause it's hard.. The number of details that Illusion Labs put in this game it's huge
sorry to disappoint I installed it on one of the phones there. Happy to know they'll be fixed What exactly do yuou mean by "recovered"?
Ah ok. Well they requested a build for their stores so it should be out sometime. Recovered as in you'll get the award when you install the update (since your best time is saved, we can run through all your saved times and see if you beat the designer's time). This will only fork for those awards, not for the ones without touching stuff.
I finished that level I couldn't do! I was just browsing the internet while shaking it around, then it went through eventually.
