If you rate it medium, and more people rate it medium, it will be shown as medium. Apple wanted a copy of Labyrinth 2 for their retail stores, so hopefully it's pre-installed on their devices soon! I wonder how many other game companies have all their games pre-installed in Apple retail store.. Right now they have both Touchgrind and Sway pre-installed.
It's a valid question, and in fact I think he's right. I guess we sort of took for granted that everybody had played a Labyrinth game before. We'll fix the description in iTunes. About Labyrinth 2: The goal of the game is to guide your little steel ball to the goal by tilting your device. On your way to the goal, there are different obstacles, such as holes, fans, magnets, two sorts of cannons, lasers, bumpers, slingshots, merry-go-rounds, doors, cloning devices (for multi-ball), ball resizers and whatnot. There are mainly two sorts of levels; precision or puzzle. Some require mostly precision to avoid obstacles, and some require that you use your brain to solve puzzles by opening doors etc. Often both is combined. Each level take around 5-45 seconds to play, some substantially longer. It's very good for pick-up and play when waiting in line, during toilet breaks etc. Included in the game are about 200 levels, ranging from easy to very hard. The graphics may be simple, but they are well done. The ball reflects the environment, the environment use indirect lighting and it runs at 60 fps on all devices (on most levels). You can create your own levels, and download others as well. There is sort of an entire "App Store" in the game with top lists, what's hot, most downloaded etc, just that all level packs are free. After you download and play a level pack, you can rate it, and the rating is updated online. There are awards to keep you playing, and you can also unlock new balls. If you have a friend (or three) with L2, you guys can play multiplayer together. It gets really frantic! Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sB0Oq7qNrw0 And here's a video review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gX9KsxrSVw Those are just some of the features that make this game good, I'll let the others add more if they want to. Hopefully you now know a little more about the game.
YAY! My parents let me get another game this month! Bought Laby 2 almost instantly, VERY nice game! I love it!
Yes please! Levels like this where you have to THINK about how to get from A to B are about a million times better than levels where you just have try and perfectly balance your iPhone. And they are so much more rewarding to complete and less frustrating to play! Everyone else who is making levels, take a cue from this guy!
I also prefer the thinking level packs. Especially when theres a level pack sitting on the other side, where hundreds of cannons try to kill you and you can only win by pure luck or very fast reflexes But the level pack, which fascinated me most, was this one: AG4LNTM8.04 (House of Mirrors). Its fascinating, how the creator uses the elements the editor gives you and creates an insane experience with it. You really have fun with just seeing how the level elements play with the ball, while you try to escape from the dynamic labyrinths.
It was great! Excellent ideas, some levels just lacked in the quality department, but they were good!
Level 4 felt a bit out of place. I especially liked level 5. Made me laugh loud, while I tried to escape my ball .
I remember one level (not sure from which pack) that had balls bouncing in a small box in the corner. When I hit a button I needed to hit, it opened the gate and the ball came out and bounced all over the level. Made me laugh and not so many balls that it got in the way, really, of finishing the level. I still prefer the old school levels to the levels that have lots of cannons, craziness, and red alarm lights flashing all over the place. I'm at a personal (not work) computer like never so no chance to make a level pack :-( One reason I have an iPhone Maybe this weekend I'll try to make a pack.
think I found some bug, the marble was rolling through lasers without tripping them. has this been mentioned already?
Hi everyone, i am the newest member of the Labyrinth 2 family, looking for some level-building advice!
if you liked that level pack, you'll love mine, it even takes me a little bit to remember how to beat the levels, and I made them. But it has to do with thinking, not necessarily mastery of the accelerometer or just plain blind luck.
anders, do you think we could get subratings? like to distinguish puzzle or classic levels and so on?
You can also do something ala LittleBigPlanet - have a wide selection of single words that describe a level [annoying, fast, classic, boring, exciting, etc.] - user selects one along with rating it after playing.
