Will definitely try and watch the movie but without seeing it yet, I can say that with a few more background location options this could be even better. Dig the controls. A portrait mode would be cool though I could see why there isn't one. This would actually be fun to play with one hand swiping left or right. I would suggest that the dev make the icon look distressed and faded like the cartridge box too. Movie aside, this is one of the best little 80s retro games done right. I love the way it even reflects of the edges of the TV realistically.
Movie debuted only 2 days ago too, it's a needlemover. I thought film was great, haven't tried the game though. Just think, if they had raised another $350k on Kickstarter, they were planning on making it into a full length feature film. How awesome would that of been? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kungfury/kung-fury/description
I hope this expands into a bigger game - more characters to unlock, other locations, etc. i love this! Quite entertaining.
And now it's 7M hits! I watched it yesterday evening & it's hilarious and awesome at the same time! There are so many good one liners in that movie. "Yeah, that's my bicep"# You have to watch this! Great job guys...
Lots of potential for the game too. I haven't gotten too far. Are there boss fights? Lots of background location options, special moves (Ferrari flying standing on the roof shooting everything mini-game or the Time Hack sequence?) and such.I hope the game does well so it will get more content!
Great game and hilarious movie, but the game definitely needs more content (more playable characters, more locations, ...).
I think it's a nice little concentration game, and it's great that the taps always buffer correctly; it feels a lot better when you don't have to wait for the hits to finish just to make sure your input doesn't get lost.
True. It is a nice and simple arcade homage. I think at least two more locations and characters would make this game perfect. Either each location would feature a different character (Triceracop or the Hacker) or, you could "tag team" and tap in one of those two from where they stand in the background. Envisioning at least one classic 80s sunset and palm tree background and maybe either inside the arcade or the cartoon dream.
You know...I agree with the lot here. Currently this is the best OFDP "clone" on the App Store because it has that perfect balance between the flawless gameplay and a pricing model that just outshines both OFDP itself and Fatal Fight, but Kung Fury desperately needs Game Center support...like right now, right now and hopefully the success of the short film will bring the same kind of success to the app, leading to more backdrops, playable fighters, boss fights and whatnot. The movie's a smash hit...there's no reason this should be any less than that.
I bought the ads remove iAP to help the devs. We need more contents. At least GC. i may be wrong, i think we'll see the other 3 characters in the background as playable. Make it happend !
Hi and thanks again!! We've solved this issue and are just waiting for the update to be approved by Apple, so keep an eye out for the update!
Yea! Hi there dev! Thank you for coming to Touch Arcade. I love the game and the movie! I even bought the game on Steam as well! I will become KungFury! Billy
Hello There, I have no idea if this has already been answered, but do you have plans for Game Center leaderboards? This game seriously has the potential to never ever leave my device.
