I agree, if that's what this is. Hard to tell from the videos whether there's are the standard 15-second levels like SMB and LoE or if they're longer levels as in a traditional platformer. But, yes, I'm getting a bit burned out on the SMB clones as well. Would like to see more traditional platformers (any new gameplay elements would be welcome, of course, to mix it up).
I am REALLY not liking the jumping physics... Feels heavy. Also needs adjustable controls for the iPad. Without em, there's no real reason for the game to be universal.
So is this, in fact, another short level SMB/LoE style game? Debating between this and Super Lemonade Factory. Craving something a little meatier than the die-a-million-times in 10 seconds variety.
Agreed. Also debating this and Super Lemonade Factory. Any impressions? Watched the video by Sanuku, and kind of in the middle about this.
Game Impressions And here we have another Super Meat Boy clone. Yes, its all here: lots of pits, traps and all sort of dangers, wall jumping, cute characters, polished, good jumping, ... and more, as it includes lots of customization (with some IAP required, if not, needs grinding) and bonus levels... so far I like it Yes, levels dont take very long to finish, but they are good, and you will die a million times... or more Shouldnt be, if you can buy both (as I did), but if not, choose wisely between a League of Evil type of game or a different one with depth (Super Lemonade Factory)
Hi there! Hi people, I'm one of the dev of Kung Fu Rabbit. Yes, we are looking at this issue! It worked on the sandbox, but it seems broken on the appstore :-( Anyway, if the bug is on our side, we will submit a new version asap! What do you mean by adjustable controls? Did you try to activate the "SmartPad" in the option section? Yes the levels are not very big, specially the firsts ones, since they are acting as tutorials. iphone is a mobile plateforme with short session usage, that's why we choose to do lots of levels rather than few bigs levels. But we heard you and the next major update (we are working on it but no date at the moment) will contains some big levels. Anyway, I hope those who bought the game are enjoying it!
Yup, tried both control options. The "smart pad" kept sliding inward, and consistently had to be readjusted, breaking the gameplay up with moments where my rabbit would move left when I was trying to move him right, then had to stop and readjust the controls. The other control method has the arrows in too far on the screen. By adjustable controls, I mean being to move and lock buttons in place (thanks Gabrien, bit more clear than just saying 'customizable') so that we can have the buttons where we feel most comfortable with them. As long as I'm "whining" (no offense Dev), the loading times are pretty bad. Is there anything on the horizon in terms of performance updates/quicker loading times. The game also has pretty bad frame skips on my 4th gen touch (yes, hard reset, clear multitasking, NEVER jailbroken, running iOS 5.1)
Humm ok, i will think of something. I think we will reduce the size of the control and allow the player to set a custom position of it on the screen in the pause menu. No offense taken, anything doable that can enhance the game, or at least any feedback for our future games are good things. The loading time between the main menu and a level can take some seconds, this will be hard to optimize, but i will try something. No guaranties. Loading between levels is a lot faster (about 1-2 sec), we had an issue that has been addressed and speed up (30%) levels to levels loading. I will take a look at it. Regards, Greg.
Thanks a lot! I thought it was only me =P Cutest platformer I've seen in a while, and one that I can play in leisure instead of rushing the clock.
Yes I do, its the cutest game in this genre, and as Squeaker said, one you dont have to speedrun through... a nice change in pace indeed
Awesome, thanks for the response. I hope it doesn't cause too much of a headache. BTW, the loading times are fine on my iPad, and no frame rate problems on it either. Just my iPod touch. =o/
Oh yeah! That's nice to hear some good news iPad1? For the iPod, there is a kludge you might use in the meantime (not very satisfactory ). Try to disable the music and sounds effects in option (specially if you play without sounds). I know this is not a great solution but I think it can help until i fix the frame rate issue (and it will speed up the menu to level loading!). I will keep you informed of the results of the improvements in this thread! Az, the coder of cTools!
@syntheticvoid How far are you? Were the frame rate problems always bad? The reason I ask is because I haven't had any. I'm using an iPod Touch 4g 8GB.
yeah, you almost never have issues with framerate when I do... I think you might have a magical device. =oP But I started experiencing framerate issues in the 3rd level and onward. Now I'm on level 1-18, but just turned the sound and fx off, and it's helped quite a bit. Almost no framerate issues. My device might just be old... I've had it for about a year and half now, and I've played it A LOT...
I'm loving the game, well worth the money, but does seem a bit barren ? I mean the first few levels there dont seem to be tons of 'baddies', just lots of platforms ! 'Presume' that changes later. But as a platformer it works very well so far, controls are great, nice graphics/animations. Hopefully there'll be more variety later
