Really glad to hear it! And hey. Simogo Santa is so depressed that some people don't claim codes when they've used it, so he just up and left. Last time I saw him he was mumbling something about "lurkers" in the corner of a bar. So I guess it's up to me to present you the last promo code: LW6J4XWWEX7X Have yourselves a merry little christmas! How about gifting a Kosmo Spin to someone you love?
Thanks! Glad you like it! Yes, 12 quests are on its way in the first update. It's "in review" so it should hit pretty soon after itunes connect opens again after dec 28! Happy christmas eve everyone!
So, Christmas morning. Just relaxing, decide to check game center and HOLY SMOKES KOSMO MAN - 8.503 is currently the highest score on the leaderboard. Seriously!? 8.503!? That shouldn't even be possible!
Hi There! Hope everyone had a good christmas. We still have some days off, but there is a thing that i've been thinking about these days, now that the game has been out for a while. When designing Kosmo Spin, we wanted to make something very casual, that everyone could play - but still make a game that "gamers" (like ourselves) could enjoy. Basically we wanted to make a game with simple controls, something that could be understood just after a few seconds, but with neat combo systems and stuff for "the pros". Do you guys think we succeded in that? Do you find the game too easy or too hard? Maybe even shallow? We've been getting a lot of good feedback - A lot of "non gamers" are really enjoying the game, and getting really good high scores. But there are also some that find the game a tad too difficult, and punishing. It's hard, because it's such a fine line. We want to keep game sessions short, but still not make the game frustrating. We're designing the next game after the same philosophy, so all feedback is appreciated. With these things in mind the next game will be even better Speaking of the next game, I just started making the first music track for it yestarday! Did you like the sounds in Kosmo Spin? Also - The update should hit pretty soon after iTunes connect opens on the 29th, since it's "in review".
It is a fun game, to be sure, but I think only via different difficulty levels and or modes are you going to please both the hardcore and the super casual gamers.
Well we have two different game modes See, that's the thing. We don't want a "divided" experience. We want something that people can talk about, no matter what experience you have. But yeah, I see what you mean of course. But it's the easy way out
True, and I like where you were trying to go much like a classic Bugs Bunny cartoon that could be enjoyed at a very shallow surface level by the kidsters, but at the same time actually had some more subtle nuanced aspects that only the adults could fully appreciate. Good luck!
Yeah, that's a pretty good way to describe it, actually! A lot of good entertainment and art can be enjoyed on many levels, and we'll keep trying to achieve that. Thanks!
Nice! Very good points! And he's the first one to mention the voices of the quest characters. I'm a big fan of gibberish in videogames, and I've done all of those voices myself Regarding difficulty level in Quests. I think he has a point there as well - But only if you're aiming to complete them in order, which wasn't our intention at all (and that's why they are all unlocked from the beginning). We treat them more as a big buffet, where you can choose freely between what to play at any time. We're firm believers that gaming should always be enjoyable. We're not big fans of gaming becoming a chore, so that's why we made it so you can always choose whatever quest at any time (and have thus not placed them in any specific order, besides the first 4 ones that teach you the basics of the Kosmo Spin). And yes - it might be an error from us that this is not communicated anywhere (besides in the dialouges). By the way, Itunes connect is open again, so now it should only be a matter of days before the update hits (if everything goes well!). The excitement!
That's seems to be a pretty fair review, but the score is off (deserves better than 4/5) Levels 20 and 24 are still the only two I cannot pass. They take waaay too long, unless I'm missing something. Some of the 'survive for 50 seconds' type challenges were insanely difficult as well. Maybe if the levels were reshuffled in categories (Tutorial levels, Normal, Difficult, etc.) it would come across better and we wouldn't go from easy level to hard level and back to easy level again. Maybe more of a difficulty progression, yadayada. Fantastic game; can't wait for the update.
Is anyone else having a problem with this game? If I try to spin the world, sometimes it is very responsive and other times it hardly moves at all? Makes the game pretty much unplayable (if my phone wasn't so expensive it would have been thrown out the window by now!). I'm guessing this is rare since everyone seems to love the game... any ideas? Jamie.
Very good feedback. Will keep it in mind. Regarding quest 20 and 24. Yes, those two are among the most difficult (and truth to be told, they were meant to be a bit insane ). There are no specific tips, just hang on in there! Oh? That sounds very strange. Are you sure it's not only the stuns from when the balls hit the planet? Send me a PM and give a good description in detail of your problem and we'll of course look in to it. Kosmo Spin was chosen as mobile of the day on FWA: http://www.thefwa.com/mobile/kosmo-spin
Hehe! Well, I'm glad it worked out Kosmo Spin has now been downloaded over 20 000 times! http://simogo.com/blog/2010/12/30/mobile-of-the-day-on-the-fwa-over-20k-sales/
