Please be working on a sequel to this game. There are so few flaws that I can find with this game, I think it just has to be my GOTY. It's uniqueness really lends itself perfectly to being played on a touch device. Love it.
So I got a new ipad and restored it from my old ipad but the save game didnt transfer and I already spent money and time on it....how do i get my old game back?!?!?!?!?!
The same happened to me, but consider this: the only thing that separates you from your old game, is to complete the main quest again once. Make a different party you've never used before and time will fly... It's aggro, how much a creature hates you and focus fire you. Your beefy tank should have the highest number possible. Damage dealing classes usually have 1 threat, healers 3 and tanks 5+. But beware, if your dps has 1, your healer 2 and your tank 3 health that doesn't mean the tank will be the only one focus fired... it means that after a single roll of dice, he has 50% chance to get picked (so it's good for tanks to use +threat abilities and items).
Quick criticism: Lose the auto-save, or make it optional (which it doesn't appear to be). I lost a couple of my party members during a boss battle, quit out of the game and reloaded, and sure enough, they were still dead. I'd much rather be able to rely on my hard file save for just those types of circumstances. Great game, though -- very consuming.
Just unlocked a new class in Knights of Pen & Paper. Is there a way to change an existing party member's class, or do I have to start a new game to use the new class?
If you go to the castle there is a shady guy who can axe one of your characters so you can get a new one. I beat the dark magician and then started a new game, a little wiser and with a different character mix. Because of the shamans magic boost, I went for a magic based party: shaman, Mage, cleric, Druid, and paladin. Working really well so far. I'd also like to dry an attack party using the necromancs crit boost: necro, knight, rogue, hunter, and bard. Really play the bards magic up for healing and potions for bosses. I think it would be a fun mix... *I'm just not to sure what use the necros hp pact *ability really does. Doesn't sound that useful? *Anyone know better?
GeekyDad: you can only reset a character's skills, or create a new level 1 character. I know, it sucks. If I were you, I would devise some new party to start all over with... I believe that spell is bugged! That spell can buff up to 3 people (including you) so that their melee attack gives health to the necro. Basically, a life stealing enchant which heals the necro and not the damage giver. However as of now, I can only manage to make it work if I buff the necro himself! So, useless. I tried my hand at the arena campaign, with a full AOE party (mage, shaman, bard, hunter plus a healer) and was surprised to see how short it is. Basically 1 quest and much free grinding. Weak!
If you do swap someone out for a different class, make sure you take their equipment first or you will lose it! Just unlocked the Knight class, but I don't know if I should switch him out for the barbarian or not. Decisions, decisions!
hey guys, i'm still travelling, don't have much time for this but I felt that i needed to stop by for a few minutes to read and post anything. (for those that sent me a private message, i'll answer those as i have more time) the game jam I told you about went everything just right and we uploaded the game to the public, you can check it out here: http://beholdstudios.com.br/monster-jam/ (there's a download link there too for pc/mac) anyway, back to the thread. just want to add the discussion that the knight should be as good as the paladin to tank and also the barbarian should be as good as the warrior to tank, dont forget about him. hahah every new class replaces the older one in its role. you can always check the wiki, there're plenty good info. (; back to business, take care!
Hi all. I didnt know where to post this so i think ill do it right here -e- I think i found 2 bugs: 1-The D20 have values from 1 to 20, so if u want to make a 50% roll u must get 11-20, not 10-20. I notice this when i had to get 75% (16-20, 5 values), got 15 an won -_-U 2-Game mecanic: if u make the monster have a burn status or something like that it applies when the monster start its turn and end right there. OK. BUT: the weakening effect applies when the char attacks, so if u do it for 2 turns at the beginning of the second it got cleaned and only affect the first turn. The same when a monster use it in your PJ. I notice this when a monster do it to me for 1 turn but do nothing (got cleaned before atack) I use android, but by it using unity should be the same (?)
When doing a rescue quest it says there is a hands to get items, but what does that mean? Like increased drop %?
Yes, but the chance of finding one is still way too low to hold hope. If you want to farm anything seriously, get the book and glass table from the room shop. The numbers are all screwed up, because believe me you will get close to 100% drop something when you have those.
In each fight, the game throws the dice and decides whoever will be first to attack (initiative) and whoever will get attacked the most (threat).
Also, paladin or rogue? I've got one spot left. Can't decide! I like that the paladin can be a tank with the huge threat bonus but rogue disable attack would be very useful.
I purchased this a while back & was enjoying it for a while. Unfortunately, it got deleted. And now, I went to reinstall BUT it is no longer available to download for us still on iOS 5.0. Was it really necessary to make your updates require 5.1+?!? I purchased it while using 5.0. It doesn't make sense that a game like this wouldn't easily run on iOS 3.0, right? Are you guys going to make it compatible with older iOS's again with future updates? If not, can I get a refund?
Threat is vital to manage: the Paladin, Warrior, Knight, Barbarian are supposed to soak damage with their big health pools and high threat, while others can attack or heal without fear of getting massacred. If this is your first run, I would use a Grandma Paladin to tank. Initiative is good and well, but it's something you can't really dictate on a vast scale and you have to be able to use a backup plan B if things fail. Typically, you'd want a character with high initiative if he's got stun or debuff effects like the druid\rogue\shaman. But if the initiative roll still fails, it's better if you observe carefully those little numbers on everyone's head: if your rogue is in position 3 and the two enemies present are respectively 2 and 4, you'd better stun 4 so the enemy has one less attack roll this turn (as he is supposed to play after no. 3).
