I totally agree. I just generalized because that post was already getting kind of long. I forgot to ask the question I came here to ask. Does anyone know if spending a night at the inn actually increases difficulty? The DM tells us that, but I haven't noticed any change. I spend A LOT of nights at the inn to save gold. And is anyone going for a speed run, for the campaign leaderboards? I tend to really take my time with rpgs, so I'll never be competing for that. But I think it's fascinating that this is an option in the game.
Been wondering about the difficulty as well, but haven't seen any difference either. Not trying for the leaderboards; this game seems a bit too long for something like that. I could imagine a shorter campaign (about an hour or so) for speed runs, but considering the number of hours it takes to beat the main campaign, I can't imagine doing it over and over and over for speed runs.
Happens after certain quests while you're playing. You will know because the quest will involve an NPC of the unlockable class.
I've unlocked the barbarian, hunter, shaman, and knight. I'm sure I'll find out soon enough, but what are the other two? And, if you'd be so kind, what are their abilities? I'm in the situation that i feel like I'm playing lesser classes that I've skilled incorrectly. And, as opposed to paying gold for respecs or leveling up better classes, I expect to start a new game with the best characters possible. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the other two are better than my current options. Right now, I'm set on a Druid healer and rogue/Mage as dps ---- all available from the beginning. And between paladin, knight, and berserker, I'd make a choice for a tank...and one more dps.
Yeah that happened one time and I did something like that to get out of it. So there's another tweak. Also a heads up, someone said it seemed like the items which are supposed to reduce travel expense x% actually INCREASES the cost and I can confirm that to be the case. Not sure if travel time is also backwards. *just finished the main quest* excited for more campaigns. Except for not being able to take my party with me. (You get kind of attached, right??) Maybe for a gold fee, Devs? Eh?
Yeah. I'm attached to my party too. It's funny, they don't really say anything specific that any other character/class wouldn't say at that moment, but you still end up thinking of them in a certain way. Another thing that reminds me of old school RPGs. Talking of which, this put me in the mood for some classic style WRPGs which led me to discover The Quest on iOS. I really recommend it if you're a fan of games like Lands of Lore, Might and Magic, and all those other first-person WPGs of old.
I really like the game! But the music is horrible! Please give the opportunity to listen to my own music. And of course, I want more characters. More classes. More quests! MORE!!!
It's cool. Initially it's a bit tricky to work out what to press to "advance" and what goal to set, I'd mention to the devs. But once you get going it's got a load of atmosphere. Personally I wish I could "character generate" at the beginning with a blank slate. The default options, don't reflect DnD as well. But game is going well so far.
The music is perfect for the 8bit atmosphere they have going on in the game. However if you want to listen to your own just turn the music and or effects down to 0 and then use the iOS music app to play music. That way you CAN listen to your own music if you want. No action needed from the devs on this one imo.
Is leader strike by the paladin useless?? It does the same damage as a normal attack but instead it uses mana! Seems useless... But it says that it gives bonus attack?? How do I use this ability?
Just found the Necro. I'm updating my unlock locations: (feel free to add info) Knight: Sunset Castle - Battle Skeleton Necromancer: Default Village - Escort Elder Bard: Unknown Barbarian: Unknown Hunter: Unknown Shaman: Unknown
There's a bug for that at the moment, but the devs have submitted a new version for Apple already, so it's in review.
is there a way to delete a game? or do you just have to pay to remove characters and start up again? Also, what party mixes have you guys used and to what effect? My first game was Cleric/Paladin/Warrior/Rogue/Mage. I feel like the Cleric mixes well with the paladin. Smite does good damage, making him a viable DPS switch hitter when not needed for healing purposes. And, the cleric's circle of healing pairs well with the paladin's flash heal -- effectively covering your bases. Unfortunately, the cleric has a fairly bad ability in weakening. Rogue and Mage were used, in large part for crowd control. I was stunning at least one, sometimes 2 characters every turn. And the warrior filling in for DPS. He was the weakest character in that party by far. My second game is being played as Druid for healing...but having him around for CC as well, so that my mage can focus more on DPS. I'm using a barbarian tank. I'm hoping that the druid's heal over time will work well with the barbarian's berserk ability. Additionally, I'm thinking that he'll reach a very high level of DPS, which will allow his passive ability to leech enough life to supplement the HoT. I'm going Mage/Rogue again. Their ability to do really good damage or be used for CC is really important, I think. And, lastly, I have a hunter as my final character. I was skeptical about him at first. But, having 2 passive abilities that increase damage might end up making him the most dangerous character in my party -- we'll see. It's still too early to be sure about anything.
Just found the Hunter. I'm updating my unlock locations: (feel free to add info) Knight: Sunset Castle - Battle Skeleton Necromancer: Default Village - Escort Elder Bard: Unknown Barbarian: Unknown Hunter: Default Village - Collect Red Apples, Green Apples, Carrots Shaman: Unknown
I just started a new game with Shaman, Bard, and Wizard. Simply put, it's awesome. The main star of my team is my shaman. With the +5 initiative boost from Gui, he usually attacks first and can get off Hurricane before any enemies attack. I'm level 9 atm and this combo does about 90 dmg to every enemy every round. TLDR: Shaman, Bard, and Wizard make an awesome AOE dps group. Anyways, Where do you unlock the Hunter? I've gotten everything else.
