Yes, both features are implemented for Kingturn Plus now.
We will add them to Kingturn as well, not sure yet whether before or after the Kingturn Plus release.

By the way, we have added the portraits to the character info panels as well (Stats, inventory, skills).
In the barracks we've left everything as it was, so there is no confusion if you move out units (what you see is what you get).

This animatic seems to appropriately express my sense of excitement...

I'm afraid my iPod will explode if I download Kingturn Plus.

This is what I call improving on exhaustive content; it's like Mangobile decided 35+ hours of gameplay wasn't enough. Sword and Earrings had 56 scenarios... it's "remake" Kingturn Plus has 67; I wonder what the additional 11 scenarios have in store. Nevermind the improved UI, rebalancing, dynamic spawns, and character portraits...

Sword and Earrings had "362 equipable items (weapons, armor, amulets, rings)" but Kingturn Plus has over 700.
Kingturn Plus has 34 character classes; Sw&Ear had 28.
...62 character skills in Kingturn Plus...

    Oh brother! I can't wait!

So, just so I'm clear. Kingturn RPG is the middle installment. Kingturn Underworld is the first (is that currently available?), and Kingturn Plus is the last chronologically. They can be played in any order, however, with no story arc issues.

Did I get all that right?

Absolutely correct. All stories are independent of each other and can be played in any arbitrary order.
There are a few characters who make an appearance in all titles, though, and naturally these parts are more meaningful once you have played all 3 games. Which doesn't mean that you won't understand them.

To elaborate this further: The main stories are not affected by this at all.
There are just a few sub scenarios (most of them post-epilogue) which connect the story lines of all 3 titles, and once you have played all of them, all pieces of the puzzle fit together.

Kingturn Underworld isn't out yet, but will be released in August / September this year.

Without wanting to spoil too much now, it's a mixed bag of scenarios ...

    *** Minor spoiler ***
Some of them introducing character classes that haven't been available in Sw&Ear (Champion, Ranger), a (post-epilogue) 3-scenario-subplot that is supposed to be the grand finale of the trilogy, a scenario for the pet-lovers, 2 repeatable scenarios, and a remake of Sw&Ear's original mini campaign (lite version).

    New class - Ranger

    The Ranger

Swift movement and stealth are the main weapons of a Ranger.
Combined with hit point regeneration and the ability to summon wolves to their aid, Rangers can survive encounters most other bow wielding classes can not.

But the true strength of a Ranger reveals itself once he fights animals or monsters with his unique skill 'Beast Shot'.
While Giants usually have a good laugh at everyone trying to penetrate their thick skin with a normal bow, they stop laughing once a Ranger shows up.

I'm really looking forward to the Utakah material in Kingturn Plus; what was hinted at in another thread as "revealing his true intentions."
Where was this Ranger guy when I needed him for the giant scenario in (just) Kingturn?!? Looking good. I'm curious about the Amazons.

    New class - Amazon

    The Amazon

The Amazon is probably the most versatile close-combat unit of all.
With her magical spear and her skill 'Plate Break', she is perfectly suited for hunting down enemy Knights and Wolf Riders.
Good bow and magic defense make sure that she is not shredded to pieces by ranged attacks before she can reach her target.

Her physical defense is not the strongest one, but should she ever get surrounded, she is still in for a surprise with her unique ability 'War Cry' (medium damage to all 8 adjacent fields).
The Amazon can also raise the spirits of her comrades, giving them additional strength for a short time (skill 'Encourage' raises the Atk value of all 8 adjacent units for 1 turn).
As if this weren't enough, on higher levels she can replace her magical spear with a normal one.

    Hubba hubba...

The War Cry and Encourage abilities sound tactically interesting and varied.

With the Amazon unit being brand new to iOS premier (free) add on content I wonder if Amazons will play a roll in a "successor of Kingturn" Mangobile hints at in their blog.

    Edit: 14 more days...

    New class -Champion

    The Champion

Champions are the true masters of head-to-head combat.

Skills like 'Charge', 'Leather Break' and 'Power Strike' enable them to wreak havoc among all units not protected by heavy armor.
And thanks to their hit point regeneration which is by far the highest one of all units, Champions usually come out on top of most one-on-one battles.

The Champion's self-sufficiency is only matched by Paladins.

    Champion sounds good.
Only thing I don't like is the dualwielding two swords of the same size-class. Fantasy staple, I know, but it still irks me everytime I see it.
Give him a twohander instead, or a longsword/shortsword combo.

    Hero - Damios

    Hero Damios

Damios is a hybrid between a Warrior and a Champion.

He starts off with the warrior skill 'Spin Attack', and during the first scenarios he will be your main source of damage.
Damios' high hit points and his 'First Aid' skill make up for the fact that he only wears leather armor.

And once he acquires the champion skills 'Charge' and 'Power Strike', his damage output is only surpassed by Assassins and Mages.

With his high level skill 'Bulwark' allowing him to temporarily shrug off most damage, he finally turns into a one-man-army.

I guess you are (also) referring to the original Sw&Ear version where Damios had a shield and Bulwark was considered a physical skill.

This is something we have changed with the introduction of Kingturn (main) where Summoners have the 'Bulwark' skill as well.
So 'Bulwark' is now actually considered a mind or magic based skill and not a physical one.

    From Sw&Ear thread circa 2011:
I was looking back over some of the earlier threads from 2011 and thought it was interesting that Mangobile has totally delievered on promises from back then, quoted above.

Will Mangobile be retaining Sword & Earrings on App Store? With the release of Kingturn Plus and given that Apple allows previous customers to download prior apps even if they are no long avaliable for new purchase it wouldn't bother me.
That guy has come a long was since the Sword & Earring (Sw&Ear) days, below.

The sword and shield pair was iconic; I'm curious about the dual wield but skeptical.

He has indeed. In the first version he had just a sword. Then came a sword and a shield in one of the Sw&Ear patches. And now two swords in Kingturn Plus.
Almost a pity that we won't do any further remakes in the future, otherwise we could give him a two-handed sword in the next version :).

Maybe I'm just feeling nostalgic about Sw&Ear, but Kingturn Plus is still my personal favorite of the Kingturn trilogy, especially after the changes and additions we have made compared to the original Sw&Ear version.

Actually I'm inclined to put Sw&Ear to its well deserved rest sooner or later.
Besides all the obvious improvements we have made in Kingturn Plus, maintaining Sw&Ear is quite difficult for a few technical reasons.
And most of the things we might add to Kingturn Plus in the future, wouldn't be compatible with Sw&Ear anyway.

But the most important reason is this: On Android we had a few players who bought Sw&Ear and figured out later that there's actually a better version available (Kingturn Plus). They haven't been very happy about this. So this is something I would rather avoid in the future.

Anyway, should we decide to remove Sw&Ear or Knighturn from the Apps store, we will announce that at least a few weeks in advance on our TouchArcade forum threads.
