What's the ETA for 2.01? I haven't gotten very far into the campaign yet. Are there characters that leave the party temporarily, and then come back? I think, in that case, it's fine if they take their equipment with them (and come back with the same equipment).
What are the other scenarios that this bug could appear in (with other characters)? So that I can keep an eye out for it, until the patch is released.
I wish I could help but I haven't experienced a single glitch in many hours of play, despite replaying from the start when I changed from my US promo code version to my native UK version. I would play on anyway as the story is really getting going now. No spoilers but I care so much about my little team now that all other games have fallen to the wayside. The more I play the more I enjoy the current gameplay with the chests etc the way they are and I hope any changes are optional as I love the challenge of getting the chests. Especially now the rewards are ramping up ....anyway I'm sure these devs arnt crazy enough to bring any game breaking changes. The spawn situation actually makes perfect sense once you realise that you can reduce the enemy's spawn rate by putting them all in hospital for x turns. Getting the chest on the first treasure map has been the most enjoyable and most rewarding thing I've done in video games for a long time !
According to this source, the average App Store review takes about 6 days right now. We've handed in the final version of 2.01 on April, 20, so that would suggest an ETA of April, 26. (If a binary is updated during the (waiting for) review process, the patch is queued up at the end of the 'waiting for review' queue again.) As for leaving party members ... Spoiler This happens only two times: The Noble Knight 'Wulfgard' leaves the party in scenario 3 The Grimlog Shaman 'Utakah leaves the party in scenario 132 The critical scenario Ids are: 4, 5, 9, 15, 101, 102, 104, 111, 113. There is one way to make sure that you won't run into this problem (before the patch is published): - Kill the Kingturn task - After you have killed the Kingturn task, never use 'Exit to main menu' from the battlefield and 'Continue' from the main menu afterwards. In order to fully understand the problem: There is an internal list where those characters are stored, which are supposed to join the player's team at the end of a scenario. The cause of the problem is, that this list is not cleared properly if you use the 'Exit to main menu' functionality (which messes up this list after reloading the battlefield). In all other cases (winning a scenario, losing a scenario, retreating from battlefield) this list is cleared properly and there won't be a problem. Killing the Kingturn task just makes sure that this internal list is empty after restarting the game. Edited Note: This problem cannot occur in the Skirmish campaign (there are no characters joining the player's team automatically)
I am glad to hear that you are obviously still enjoying the game. Always looking forward to your posts which keep making my day .
Still enjoying the game is an understatement. Hats off to whoever wrote the story / dialogue. I thought it held promise at the start but I'm gripped now like you are with a good book. But I'm glad to say its not only the story that's keeping me playing. The gameplay gets more compulsive as you dig in and start unlocking different skills and equipment etc. I'm absolutely loving the Assasin class. It's rare to get both elements served up in the same game these days. Actually lets face it, it's always been rare to get games that do both excellent narrative and solid deep gameplay as well. I don't know how long it's going to take to port the other games and I realise you probably don't want to start posting timescales in forums or anything but if you need help beta-testing them eventually please bear me in mind ! Also can I ask who wrote the story / dialogue for Kingturn and if they have any other published work in any medium ? I'd love to find out this was all based on some fantasy novel that I could get hold of and read. I couldn't find any credits in the game.
There are 67 scenarios in the main campaign and 15 scenarios in the skirmish campaign I thing, plus the prologue scenarios.
Nice game. Four points minus one point for self-rating publisher. Be glad i didnt notice the OPs five-star ranking at first, cause that's usually a no-buy for me.
Congratulations to Kingturn on scoring second place in Touch Arcade's Game of the Week poll! I'm glad to see Kingturn has been well received on iOS but surprised there's not more buzz around a gem like this. If you're browsing this and don't have Kingturn yet... get it. I made it to the add-on scenarios; the core game was a blast with compelling gameplay and great plot. The epilogue missions are challenging and rewarding by showing more character outcomes and personality. I love the mid-scene twists with events varying in the middle of a mission. The scenes that unite the continuity between Kingturn and Kingturn Plus are satisfying and give the plot a lot more depth. I noticed treasure chests seem to be less frequent in later levels; this makes sense given plot/pacing but it would amusing to see more chests. The original poster and the developer are different people. Touch Arcade thread ratings are generally irrelevent/meaningless but if you buy into them here there are all five star ratings (non-developer). I am confused but hope you enjoy Kingturn as much as I am. Cheers!
This is misleading. You made a mistake the OP is nothing to do with the dev or publisher. The dev has no need to shill rate his own game it's a proven great game with hundreds of positive reviews on android (where it was released first). It was runner up game of the week here and it's been very well recieved.
Actually we didn't rate our own game. But out of curiosity, which rating / comment made you believe it comes from the developer itself? Edited Note: With all these nice people on touch arcade who support Kingturn, you might think there is a whole army working for Mangobile . But actually that's not the case.
I definately don't want to speak for this forum goer but I believe him / her to be under the misapprehension that Sanuka's opening post in this thread is from the developer because the AppStore description is within that post. Please correct me if I'm wrong heretik ?
Addition chests in later scenarios Noted and granted. We will gladly add a few additional chests to later scenarios in the next patch. And if someone feels like 'shaping Andaria' together with us and has an idea already like 'in scenario xyz there should be definitely a chest at location (x,y)', just go ahead and post your ideas or send me a private message. For obvious reasons, chests shouldn't be located too close to the initial spawn point(s) of player characters, of course. Bye the way, there are three different chest types in Kingturn: ** minor spoiler ** Spoiler - Chests with a preset amount of gold - Chests with a preset (specific) item - Chests with random content (gold or item based on the level of the scenario)
In this regard I have to disappoint, I'm afraid. I've written the stories myself, and while it was / is an enjoyable experience in many ways, it's also a rather difficult and time-consuming task for me as an amateur writer and non-native English speaker. For Kingturn I was lucky enough that Gary, a dedicated player of our Android version from the US, went through the painful process of editing all dialogues and translating my German-English to English. Writing a 'real' fantasy novel is way beyond my skills, I'm afraid. Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you like the story and that you seem to share my 'awkward' sense of humor .
This is really silly.. The game is free to try.. Most people would play first then buy if they like it.. So the ratings are all real... So what if the publisher rate it 5 stars?
In the later levels it might be good to add chests of a preset (specific) item. It would be good to see more higher level legendary items (provided balance is no issue). Around the level 14 area, I don't remember the same but it was a map with six barracks in an oval shape; a chest in the dead space to the upper left could be more challenging (especially if you go with chest varient requiring it be opened within a certain number of turns). The main campaign is split into "levels;" up to 15 with 2-3 in each. The entire game has about 67 scenarios but I'm not sure how much are just in the main campaign versus side quests and epilogue. I am curious about the company name; is there an interesting backstory?
If reasonable I would be curious to see post-battle statistics. Things like total time, total damage received, total attack damage won, units employed, respawns used, etc. I'm bummed now that I spent weeks beating all the campaign scenarios; I don't know what to play next on my iPod following that. Kingturn's skirmish mode looks like a blast and there's the repeatable challenge scenarios so there's a lot of content still or I could go back and turn the difficulty to 5 but... I know the party's got to end sometime. I'm going to dive back into Dungeon Plunder or Cavern or whatever else might do for now before jumping back into skirmish mode. Bring on Kingturn Plus (July isn't so far away)! Having played nearly the entire game I can firmly agree Kingturn is the best SRPG / TBS game on iOS so far.
How is cavern?? I'm also trying to get into kingturn. I was excited for it when it came out. played the first 2 levels of the prologue and haven't opened it since. I am just awful at SRPG's and TBS. :/ maybe turning the difficulty down will make it more appealing to me.
