Yea i tend to agree that jewels/fusing is a bit too cumbersome. It takes too many mats, requires too much leveling up, and just takes up to much room. Seems like a ploy to get us to buy more inventory space. Honestly, i have not been too worried about jewels and socketing and wont until its later in the game. I'm more focus on getting better equipment. But at least i have been taking one jewel and feeding it stuff to evolve. Beyond the annoyance of that system and some connection issues (i get a lot of disconnects when im in parties) this game is really well done. The devs have created a Diablo like experience that IMO trumps the DH series. Its also reasonable for a F2P game which is hard to do, but important to maintain a large player base which is seems they desire for partying. I'm overall quite happy with the experience and hope they continue to make it better!
The inventory stuff is crappy. I mean every run is like man I need to sell or keep this or do that all because of limited inventory.
This gets better once you buy a little space, can fuse jewels, and get the guy who stores stuff for you....if you havent gotten to those points that is. If you have, well....yea you may need to sell stuff. Jewels and mats are good candidates early game
Inventory Space In general, if you run out of space quickly on runs, leave all non-expensive stuff behind. White items are the lowest, and I almost never take those along. Priority should be on high-end Potions/Healing, Boxes (from bosses), Purple, Blue and Green Items, in that order. Inventory space - both personal and bank - is on sale frequently enough that you can easily upgrade to max within one or two months. Between daily achievements, bonus gems from boxes, etc. you get enough to buy all the space you need without spending on IAP. I am playing for 3 months now, and have the maximum bank space (8 pages on iPad), and 7 pages inventory (two of those are pretty much permanently filled with potions and specialised equipment like +run speed for gold runs) . 5 pages is more than enough to do several runs in a row. In the bank, I have one full page with only evolution materials. Most likely I don't need all of those, but I'm too lazy to clean up You do want to keep any Stonepowder and Pepper you come across. Those are extremely rare materials, and unfortunately needed for almost everything
Not that you *really* need them, I guess 2-3 pages would be enough. But I'm a compulsive hoarder in games remnant of the good old times when you suddenly found out that to solve the riddle of the "enlightened triple spinning lotus" you needed the "golden hairpin of guitar tuning" that you threw away 20 hours back...
This and Mage & Minions on iOS are very similar, except in KingsRoad you can forget about opening chests without spending crystals. Although M&M was also F2P, it at least scattered free chests about in every level along with the pay to open chests. Seems like such an odd choice to cut the one thing hack n slashers are looking for - chests! Actually it's not really that odd, we all know why to cash you out of crystals so that you have to buy more.
The funny thing is: you don't need those chests in the stages at all. Just not worth it, that equipment is obsolete so fast. I guess they put them in to lure beginning players into spending crystals.
Yeah I stopped opening chests early on. Absolutely not worth it. I don't know if it ever is but for now all my gems go to vault and inventory space.
I'm enjoying this game a ton. I've not spent a dime on IAP and have inventory space going into the 4th page and expanded the stash just a bit. I've only been playing on and off for 3 or 4 weeks as well, if that. Running the daily quests for equipment really needs you up to be able to run harder levels. I lose almost every tournament match, but it's still worth 5000 gold to lose, so I do it every chance I get. I'm only a few thousand shy of level 43. I will say this, though. Pick a class and stick to it until late game. The extra inventory space needed to run 2 or 3 classes can become a downfall. I personally am loving my Mage. I'm mainly frost spells with maxed fireball for the quick cooldown. I can teleport into a group and cast all my spells dealing massive amounts of damage. Many times when grouped I still come in first even if another player is 3-5 levels higher and has greater power. My kids also are loving this game. Even my 5 year old. It's nice I can have him in my party to help him power level a bit. He may not be able to read any of the menus except maybe a few words but he understand then concept of Hack and slash. Kill stuff and loot, get stronger. I wish party size was greater than 3 though. Levels would become to easy this way but could be countered with an increased difficulty multiplier if 4+ characters were in the same group. Obviously rewards would be adjusted for the better as well though. As far as guilds go, I created God Squad (can't remember if it has an underscore at the time of this writing, lol) and left it open to anyone. Guilds get stronger through members gaining gold. Each guild level gives another perk and I'm looking forward to seeing that first level up soon. It's actually a pretty neat system. Soo..... Tl:dr this game is a great hack and slash. If you like games like that then this is a must.
Can't decide whether to sink time into this or Taichi Panda. At what point can you change gender in this game? Single player seems pretty nice in this, but haven't seen much of multiplayer. I do prefer the UI of this over panda.
I prefer just about everything in this over Taichi Panda and I find this one much more enjoyable overall. I actually deleted Taichi Panda last night.
I like that this can be played from both browser or iPhone. I Just need to dive in to multiplayer and see what it's all about.
Taichi Panda starts to get old real quick. I really liked the game at first, but after a couple weeks my fun with it was severely diminished. I regret making purchases in it. Although I will say that I enjoy Tachi Panda's subscription based IAP style. Being able to get tons of gems for a fraction of the price (as long as you play everyday) is great.
You can change gender at anytime in the inventory menu. Panda's UI is pretty bad and running the same instances gets boring fast. I had fun with this game for what it is, but I'm bored of this too. Not many freemium games hold my attention, because they lack the feeling of progression. They're just large drug addictions covered in pixels. You keep hoping for that rush, but in the end you have all your money to short enjoyment with no benefit. Anyway, this is better to waste time and money on than taichi panda.
