Wow I've pretty much beat almost everything on KR1 and I thought KRF is a lot more difficult with the new enemies and variations. I guess we just have different playstyles then. --- As for barracks I found them really really useful with Templars. I try and get at least one barracks/Templar in every level, usually on the exit. In fact, they're my favorite unit (it's a bonus for looking cool too). I did think the necromancer is good for blocking but it mainly summons regular skulls since most enemies you fight aren't "elite type" which die way too quickly and don't output very much damage (they're a bit better than an unupgraded barracks). Templars can kill quickly (in general) and have a hard time dying. Having both towers next to each other works really well though especially at a choke point. I never depend on the skeletons to kill anyone because they'll die and get overrun too quickly as opposed to 3 quick killing Templars. As for the assassins, they're really cool and I love the money stealing and stealth but when I got the Templars I didn't find much use for them. They're only good really for getting the archers enemies close or getting extra cash. But at the later game it seems better to have spent money on a Templar team instead.
The thing that gets me time and time again is the painstaking care it has taken Ironhide Games to get every detail right. Every time I am approached by flying enemies I love seeing that there is a shadow on the ground under them. It's these small little details that makes a good game great. Keep it up folks! I will be here waiting for more!
Hi Devs, I have purchased the KRF-HD version using my last credit in my iTunes gift card (Australian code). Now, I just moved to another country for working and plan to change my billing address and credit card as the payment in my current location. Can I still purchase IAP?
Here is my mini review of the game as played without IAPs for those debating. 9.5/10. Close to perfect. I've been playing the whole week when I've found time. I've got 3 levels to go kn the normal game, and then getting the 4th and 5th stars on the levels I havent yet, and then I plan on playing it on veteran all over again. I'll probably get 30-50 hours of fun out if the base game and 3 heroes on my first gi round before i put this diwn for a few months. Playing on an iPhone 4 and have had no problems with controls or my big finger blocking my view or anything. I played the hell out of the first one when it was a flash-only game. I even bought the premium thing back when all it got you was a skin, some free stars, and extra money each level, because I wanted to help the developers. This had to be 2 years ago or something. I started playing the original again too and it's nice the heroes they added and all the extra levels they added, it's like a new experience for me. I came to the sequel just wanting to recreate that original experience I had and it has satisfied. Yes the game is pretty much the same with just new enemy types and new 4th level towers to strategize around, and heroes that gain persistent levels. That's what I wanted really. About the gems, I haven't used any yet. I've been having a blast losing and then restarting the level with a new strategy and doing this until I get something that works, because that's how I choose to play. You can play differently of course, but based on my experience of 3/4 if the game and the comments of others, they are not necessary to getting 100% completion. I am tempted to buy 1 hero though, the one that has a magic attack. This is mostly to see how the levels with those pesky green shamans play out when I have a hero that can efficiently kill them without magic tower or axe tower with the debuff upgrade as support. But that's pretty minor for me compared to the rest of the stuff the game has. So to recap, I think the base 2.99 game is awesome as it is. Would it be nice to have all 9 heroes for 2.99? Hell yeah. Do I feel like I'm missing a lot of the game experience? Not really. Are the extra heroes overpriced? Definitely. Is the game awesome without them? in my opinion yes. If you enjoyed the first game like I did then I think you will enjoy this too. Thank you Ironhide for making my type of tower defense game. Next time please don't take so long, k? 9.5/10 (5 out of 5 stars using the TA grading scale) (This review is longer than I planned, and I feel like I could still add so much more)
Achievement Hello guys, I have every achievement but the one where you have to have 20 skeletons up at one time. Is there a level where this is easier to achieve? If so can somone fill me in on it please Thanks

I will constantly update my heroes stats post (page 37). IAP heroes will also be added however I am not sure whether I will buy all of them so help would be appreciated. Any tips on how to beat Temple Of Saqra?
I can do all the Inapp heroes if you want. I need to get my iPod first, but off the top of my head, level 10: Blackthorne: Damage: X-69 (ranged and melee) HP: 600 Armour: none Speed: fast Nivus: Damage: X-80 (ranged and melee) HP: 250 Armour: none Speed: fast (teleports, slow on short distances) Dierdre: Damage: X-30 (?) (ranged and melee) HP: 550 Armour: high Speed: fast (teleports, fast on short distances) Grawl: Damage: X-37 (melee) (can actually get to 55 if he is left with nothing to do for several seconds) HP: 900 Armour: medium Speed: very slow Shatra: Damage: X-55 (melee) HP: 400 Armour: medium Speed: slow (not very slow though) Ashbite: Damage: X-50 (melee, can't target air units) HP: 600 Armour: none Speed: slow
It would be cool if you could confirm that. Take a look at your iPod and send me a PM. Very appreciated man!
Why is there no fast forward in this game? Some of the maps take a ridiculous time commitment to finish...
Fixed: Blackthorne: Damage: 40-59 (ranged and melee) HP: 630 Armour: none Speed: fast Nivus: Damage: 35-80 (ranged and melee) HP: 250 Armour: none Speed: slow (teleports, slow on short distances) Dierdre: Damage: 11-30 (?) (ranged and melee) HP: 540 Armour: high Speed: slow ([should really say fast] teleports, fast on short distances) Grawl: Damage: 24-37 (melee) (can actually get to 55 if he is left with nothing to do for several seconds) HP: 900 Armour: medium Speed: (very) slow Shatra: Damage: 37-49 (melee) HP: 400 Armour: medium Speed: slow (not very slow though) Ashbite: Damage: 34-50 (melee, can't target air units) HP: 600 Armour: none Speed: slow
Just got the game now. Blow through 5 stages. Feel great to get back to TD again but with totally new experience. Great work ironhide. I got a question, still wondering about the energy gate at stage2. Will it ever work? I touch it, it charge up to some point and flat out of energy. So curious
I was wondering about that too, and started to get carried away with the idea that we could find the paid heroes hidden in stages (it looks like something to do with Sha'tra, doesn't it?). But, along with the other movie references, I think this is just a Stargate reference. But who knows...maybe that thing works if you play the level with Sha'tra... I blazed through the first KR, and then felt bummed, so I'm trying to take my time with this one. Loving it so far, can't understand all the negativity.
Ok I've been playing this for about a week now and I've generally been really enjoying it, but I've just got to the temple of sagra level and I just couldn't do it without using gems and in particular the 999 gem bomb, which I've got to admit has really annoyed me. I'm not against using the odd gem boost like dynamite or freeze on occasion but avoid the bomb like the plague cos it feels like cheating but I just kept getting stuck on wave 15 every time no matter what I did. I wasn't short of cash and had a lot of fully upgraded towers and a fully upgraded default hero. It may well have been my incompetence but it didn't feel like it...... Anyway I got a bit annoyed by that. Still thoroughly enjoying it but I never had to rely on that in the first game. Like I said could be me but it felt impossible without using it
Definitely not required. Just completed this last night and while I did make use of the 'hearts' power-up a few times to get a better star score than I should have on a given level, it definitely wasn't needed just to clear it. Kingdom Rush is one of those games where sometimes, you will find that you screwed up the placement of a tower, and you will have to replay the level. It happens a lot, especially on the challenge levels. Happy to report though that IAP is not at all necessary. Tempted to dive in to the $2.99 heroes, but I still think they're overpriced for what you get. Hoping for a sale on these to bring them down to a more reasonable level ($.99?) at which point I'd buy several. I welcome this kind of IAP though. The crystals are wholly unnecessary, especially with the amount you get just for playing. Probably wishful thinking, but I'd be interested in some sort of achievement or (better yet) unlockable content for being a level with multiple heroes. One turn-off for me when buying the new heroes is that there is no additional incentive for beating a level again with a new hero. Be it stars, secret levels, whatever, it would be neat if you could get some sort of bonus for beating levels again that you'd 3-starred.
Use mostly archer and necromancer towers.Apart from 2 archer towers at choke points all others should be crossbows upgraded with sight.
In truth, that level is pretty easy to 3 star once you realize the end boss's trick with no gem items. I got my butt handed to me the first time because I wasn't expecting it. 3 starred it second time through. Spoiler Basically, you have to have enough cash on hand to keep dropping archer towers every time he nukes a tower, since it's random what he nukes, he winds up wasting tower destruction hits on your non-improved archer towers. Then, other than the requisite necro and barracks to survive until you reach him, just lots of upgraded crossbow towers with a handful of tribal ones to strip magic and increase damage with a couple of mecha towers. First time I played the level I spent all my money and he started nuking towers and I was, oh crap, and died. I have 75/75 on the game and there were no normal missions that felt like they *needed* any additional items (which is not to say I didn't occasionally grease the wheels with a freeze bomb on a rogue enemy that snuck through ), and only like 2 or 3 Heroic/Iron that *I* actually decided I needed gem items to get by. That said, I don't really understand how anyone can find the chutzpah to criticize anything about the balance even if it does take gem items, that's not a design flaw or anything unfair. I finished 75/75 sitting on over 7K gems, and I wasted a lot of them in frustration at times Genuinely *expecting* that everyone should be able to finish with all stars without resorting to gem items ever or there is something wrong with the balance is like thinking anyone should be able to par an 18 hole golf course having removed the driver, putter, sand wedge, and 5 Iron from the bag "just because" you have arbitrarily decided that although they are part of the core design of the game, they're unfair and make your ePeen flaccid.
