What bugs me the most are the high prices for inapps in an iOS game. If they were $1 each, this game would be a dream. I can't believe the number of people who have so much money to blow that Ironhide finds with the most profitable business model. And even if it is, treat your fans right and have sales very soon after each hero is released.
The only thing I want really is a endless mode and a hero sale,I will buy all of the heroes then great game
I disagree, they already had a perfect formula with the first game, if they made too many changes people would start complaining because of that. Also I'm pretty sure the Devs were not trying to make a sequel, but more of an addition to the first game. It's worth 2.99, you don't have to buy any IAPs to beat the game.
Not sure about how an endless mode would work. After you've built towers on all slots and upgraded them to max level, there's not really much left to do.
Is there something to that ring on the second level. I see the lights go almost the whole way and think there is a way to get them all the way.
Yes the enemies are different. In the first game, did you see any enemies that could reanimate the dead? Provide armor to others? Turn invisible? Burrow underground? Didn't think so. If you have a problem with the same enemies, go to their forums and suggest some. Yes the menu format is the same. However, the background is different (which is what I was reffering to). I personally don't see what's wrong with the menu. It's not like a drastically different menu makes or breaks a game. It serves one purpose: to hold you save slot. So you shouldn't be complaining about it; seeing as you'll only spend 10 seconds max on it. Oh yes. 5 more heroes is definately 2/3rds of the game. Also, I did agree with you on the hero pricing, so there's no need to badger me further on that like you did. Oh yeah, Bloons Tower Defence 5 is so much different from its predecessors. Oh yes, Pokemon has changed so mich over the years (fundamentally). Infinity Blade 2 sucks because it was so much like the original. Also, calling me a fanboy pretty much confirms that you're a pretty immature and pouty guy. Good job.
People always like to bitch on what's wrong with something and not give any decent constructive criticism.. I want to see all the people who complained create a game like this or better.. Yea I doubt that will ever happen.. And to all the people who complain about IAP.. Get over it... If you don't like it, then don't buy it. Simple as that... You don't need IAP to beat this game FYI... Smh these forums turn into bitch complain fests nowadays,it's a ####in turn off for real...
I might give a minor not really necessary body part for a good endless mode. It would work by introducing some special enemies that can damage and eventually destroy towers (I'm thinking enemy artillery :-D) It would also be a pretty big map with lots of lanes, eventually making it quite hard to cover everywhere with reinforcements, your hero and rain of fire. Also money would be pretty limited. Please ironhide, please :-D
This thread has turned kinda nasty, but I was there when there was a cult following for the original game and the gem/IAP update pretty much started a full scale riot. The reason for this was the purity of the game design, the fact that there simply was no way to fake it - you either had what it took to get those three stars or you didn't. I and many others never even used the heroes when they were introduced, it seemed insulting to sully the game with such a crude crutch. It is a little odd that with the time that has passed this wasn't more of a 'true sequel', and yeah the upper crust IAP heroes are priced in a disgusting, greedy fashion. Still, no matter what, in the end we finally got MORE Kingdom Rush. Let's keep that in perspective and those of us true to the path will continue to ignore the gems altogether.
While greater variation on gameplay would have been preferable (would larger maps or a fifth tower type really have been too much?), it's still the stellar KR formula. My main criticism, instead, would be that this game is too easy. To put this into context, the last major update to Kingdom Rush 1, where they added the 'Hard' setting on all the levels really presented some challenge. I could fail 30 times or on some of the 'hard' Iron Challenges such was the precision of execution required. Here, if I reached 3 attempts on any level, I felt I was doing badly, such was the freedom for error and the consistent success of crutch strategies. I don't know whether this is intended or there was just less time afforded to the design/tuning of levels, but I never really felt much accomplishment in completing a level. This is also detrimental to the purchase of heroes in my opinion - what real inclination is there to buy a hero when 75 stars is easily completable with Cronan?
I think most people here would feel the opposite. They might buy a hero because it creates an interesting and different style of gameplay, but they wouldn't be interested in buying a hero just because it's better than the default heroes. If you go down that route, why not just have a button that says "I win" but costs hard cash every time you click it?
The first one was balanced without the hard mode, so when we added it, the difficulty level made a huge jump. Frontiers was balanced with the hard mode in mind so we might have done it a little easier but it wasn't in purpose. There are so many different mechanics and enemies that many people find it much more difficult (some people even complained at this topic ). Hopefully, the new stages for the update will bring back those complicated challenges you're missing
Can't speak for him but as somebody else who found the game quite easy (now at 50 stars, beat the game, working on veteran and challenges here and there), necromancer + crossbow is almost always a killer combination. Everything else is window dressing.
Anyone find any real use for the barracks. I feel that the necromancers really outshine them in terms of blocking enemies. I would build them but i don't bother upgrading them. I'm kind of sad that the barracks have no air or aoe potential.
Paladins are great for stalling the stroger monsters. Holy grail and the extra life gives them a big boost. Assassins are good for getting cash early.
