The art style and gameplay despite it all being pretty much the same with a different skin or in this case adding two heroes instead of 1 I still want to play it. What I don’t agree with for this dev anymore is that they have iap towers, or in iron marines 2 iap units! They always had iap heroes which I could accept I thought sure you get some free the others are just extra options if someone wants to spend for one. But once they added iap towers and units I was not a happy man. I enjoy the series and think they are well built, polished games and despite it being a different skin with new levels, I still want to play it. But I’m not expecting to get the same feeling and addiction as I did with 2112TD, but that’s ok because they are still solid, well polished games that still give me enjoyment. orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #5 orangecan, Jul 25, 2024 I like the series - they’re good solid TD games but they’re all very similar and the increase in IAP since the first instalment is annoying. I’m very tempted to buy it (and I’m sure I will crack at some point) but even looking at the screenshots I’m struggling to tell the difference between this and the earlier editions and for the price it’s just not calling me like I expected it to. There’s a very different feel to 2112TD to this series, I know they’re both TDs but not sure I’d group them together (I love 2112 to bits). Of course, there are improvements from the first instalment (the design is prettier, the maps richer, and new mechanics like heroes and multiple paths) but the "recipe" is always the same. IMO after the 3rd instalment they topped up this formula and then it is just about the "story" content... Like in Vengeance, you took the side of the bad boys, here is that you will handle the good and evil sides in an alliance and of course the use of double heroes. At least in the first stages, this is what I saw. At the end of the day if have bored already with the franchise this one will not adding something so fresh to make you like them again. On the other side for the fans of the series, it is as always top-notch production of a very very well-designed and balanced TD game and as always is a liiiittle better than the previous one! Personally, I like the scenario of the alliance and double heroes giving more stuff and action to get involved in every map! P.S.: I also dislike the iaps, especially if you are a completionist and want to unlock all the stuff in the game. ste86uk likes this. Anyone knows if that is true? ironsam80 Well-Known Member Dec 14, 2010 1,151 34 48 #9 ironsam80, Jul 25, 2024 As i can say this is right. The iap for heroes and towers is 40€ plus the cost of the base game. For the Steam version i am not seeing the iap indication so i can imagine is unlocked. From what i know the mobile version has always more expensive prices. For example even at the time of speaking the expansion Hammerhold Campaign! for the Vengeance game for the mobile is $7.99 when in Steam is 4,99€. sakara214ever likes this. sakara214ever Well-Known Member May 10, 2012 1,262 168 63 #10 sakara214ever, Jul 25, 2024 Oh wow thanks for the info..I guess i wont buy on mobile then. (As expected) It’s highly polished, works well and is just fun to play. I played and finished Vengeance so I am quite enjoying the new twist of teaming up to fight a common evil. (Reminds me of WarCraft III) I know I know, they have some questionable business practices. Some will ignore them and some will hate them for it. How can they be told apart from each other? That seems to be the main concern behind the pricing/IAP factor. I'm pretty sure adding a new set of graphics, new paths and putting it all together takes a lot of work and resources for them as developers. The thing is they seem to have become generic and innovation has changed focus towards the amount of "premium" content rather than a richer experience. I was not disappointed. I've been hooked. I've bought every premium entry in the series since the very first game and I'll continue to support them. Not a fan of the expensive IAP but I love the base game and the artwork. I honestly have not found any TD game that comes close to how good Kingdom Rush is. It's perfectly polished like no other. The only other TD game I think is of extremely high quality is Arknights but that's an online gacha game so I don't really compare them. This game imo is the hardest of all the entries. You could argue they're pushing the IAP / items but I'm enjoying the challenge as a veteran player who has played every premium Kingdom Rush game. They're hard but not unbeatable. They've added some very nasty enemy mechanics and surprises that will challenge even the most seasoned TD player.
