Not sure what to title this since the old version that’s been removed now was exactly the same name? Anyway this is out now, I like it so far as I was playing on TestFlight and have done a lot of the levels and even though I never really build levels I built my first one the other day if anyone want to try it kr2://play/24JFGN I could make it harder but I guess I don’t want to make it too hard that people rage quit and downvote it. As I understand it, it’s cross platform and has the levels from King Rabbit plus the level creator to make and publish your own levels which it tracks some stats for and you can edit them but you have to be able to beat it yourself to publish it. Then of course you can play other peoples levels and like or dislike them which eventually has an effect on if it shows up much for people to play. I’m unsure on the payment model so far, it seems you buy the subscription and it’s all premium or just watch an advert every 5 levels, I’m not sure what else I’m too tired. Although the subscription originally put me off because I don’t want to pay monthly for a game when I can get all of Apple Arcade for not much more, but it seems unnecessary. It would cost a fortune per month. I mean at least here it doesn’t seem like something that even gives you much of a bonus as an ad per 5 levels isn’t that bad. Fine. Different games each with their own subscription? Nope. Unfortunately this is the landscape of mobile gaming now and somehow it's gotten worse than when the influx of IAP started. It's gross. Thank **** there are still a handful of publishers and developers who believe in premium mobile gaming, but it's getting easier and easier to just abandon the platform altogether. That said, with King Rabbit, with a level creator suite comes the need to host a bazillion levels and these things come at a price. I get. It's not for me, but I get it. ste86uk likes this. Can see a ‘bit’ why devs do it as lots of mobile users just wait for a price drop (from $2 to $1 !) etc Sad state when Devs move to freemium. This game isn’t for me. Pass L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #7 L.Lawliet, Apr 10, 2020 Yeah I bought all their old releases when each one came out. Unfortunately I'll have to pass on this. I don't like the appstore's shift to subscriptions so I won't be taking part in it. The appstore "trends" have been getting worse, just when I thought IAP was the worst of it. How far we've devolved from premium gaming and then a decade later we're at subscription gaming. We went to "pay for your game" to "pay constantly to play your game". sakara214ever Well-Known Member May 10, 2012 1,262 168 63 #8 sakara214ever, Apr 10, 2020 Awful stuff. I am seeing some of you are frustrated about the monetization structure. We're trying to create something amazing and unique, and I think we're on the right track. King Rabbit is a service. It is not comparable to a finished app that you can just drop on the AppStore, charge $5 for, and walk away. Free is good for sandbox games because there's more players and so much more great content being built, your levels are getting played and builders are earning tips. No one likes a ghost town. And the game is more accessible to people who have no money but want a game that's good for their brain. Classic had 100,000 player-made levels and we expect a much higher number now with being cross-platform on Android and Steam. The new King Rabbit will host tens of thousands of levels, replays, level statistics, user data, tips, tracking levels you’ve played, solutions for every level, skins, transactions, and more - all safely stored on our servers so you can access your account from any device and never lose your progress. In a way this is only the beginning of King Rabbit. We will pushing out ongoing updates with new items, themes, decorations, builder features, a rabbit economy / marketplace, and more. Please anyone show me a comparable and sustainable service for a cheaper price, I want to see how they do it. ste86uk likes this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #11 ste86uk, Apr 11, 2020 @RareSloth When you explain it like that it does sound fair. I do really like the game it’s the first time I’ve ever enjoyed creating a level on any game also. Although I feel like it’s not that hard to watch 1 ad every 5 levels and if it’s worth paying as the bonuses don’t seem great. Although I can understand if you want to avoid it feeling mandatory to get the subscription because I’ve quit games that give players that subscribe huge bonuses because it’s just not feasible for me to pay monthly for the amount of games I play! But I currently only pay for AA so I am tempted as I do really like this this, although I made a few comments in the upcoming thread about how it felt tough that I was only earning 3 coins a level and it would be something like 1666 levels for me to get enough coins for a 5k skin which seems like an awful lot of time investment. Do you plan on adding more stats like death count and resets on your levels? Those would be nice to see. Also I remember reading something on the algorithm for levels being seen? I made my first one ever but it’s just been stuck on 30 plays now only 7 thumbs up and one down but it seems nobody is really on it now and I thought after launch the numbers would shoot up. Edit: levelhead is coming out soon and it seems to be premium and cross platform with the level creation. I’m unsure how they are making it feasible but it seems to just be a premium game. Unsure how they will support it in the long run or if they think that will. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,126 703 113 #12 anthony78, Apr 11, 2020 I mean, I get over 100 games on Apple Arcade for the same price. How can I pay $100 a month for 20 games that have the same business model? I can’t. And I won’t. BTW, four games alone got content updates on Apple Arcade today so you also can’t argue that they are one and done games. I just seen on the levelhead they said they worked a lot to get the file sizes down and that the file size for a player created level only takes 2.5kb so they weren’t worried about storing and just charging upfront.
