Sorry for the lack of update lately. We are working very hard on the last stretch of King Cashing 2! While most stuff done is polishing and balancing, there isn't much new to show. But then I realized that we never showed any cover for the worlds, now called volumes. So here's the cover of Volume 1:

Have a nice weekend everyone and we'll try to post as soon as there's something new to show!

I had to take a long break from iOS gaming but I'm back and I can't wait to play this game. Congrats to Multimage on what looks to be another great game.

    Remember these guys?

    [IMG] [IMG]
They are used as enemies in the reels of King Cashing 1. Normal levels use the little goblin thing and bosses use the minotaur. It looked great, but such a concept couldn't be used in King Cashing 2 since the enemies are now normal humans.

Since we couldn't just show a generic human this time, we went and did all the enemies in little pixel art! So each battle uses a unique pixelized version of itself to represent the enemy.

    Here are some examples:

    [IMG] [IMG]

Progress on the game is doing great by the way. We are still balancing the first 3 worlds and there's still a lot to do in terms of polishing. Anyway, as soon as we get the chance, we'll post another update on the progress. A release time frame shouldn't be too far away now. Until then, have a nice weekend everyone!

It's almost time! King Cashing 2 has been sent to Apple for review and should be up on the App Store in the coming weeks!

I'll post the official description and the official screenshots in a moment but I'd first like to share some of my feelings towards the game.

King Cashing has been in active development for about 8 months now but it was being designed since work began on the survival update of King Cashing 1. General ideas were being thrown around at that time but it's only once the update was out for King Cashing that I began working officially on the game design for the sequel. Working on the survival update of King Cashing 1 also convinced me that the current engine had not enough flexibility. For that reason, King Cashing 2 was completely rewrote from scratch, which contributed to the long delays between releases.

Anyway, one month after design began, I was working on the engine and I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted the game to be. Once I started getting some graphics, I got some of them out here to show as preview. Add in another couple of months and here we are now, 6~7 months after the first preview! Working that long on a project, I feel like it's a part of me and I'm very excited to show it to everyone! In the latest weeks, I had to take the hard decision of putting more time on the game than with my family, which was heartbreaking at moments. But I wanted the game to come out soon or I'd never stop working on it. There's always something else to change, always one feature to add. So we settled on a deadline and I worked more than ever to reach the milestone of finally sending the game to Apple.

So this is it, the game is out for review at Apple, and I can finally spend usual time with the family, work normal hours, writing previews and work on the next update. Now I can also take the time to actually play the game like a normal user, and I'm having fun! I don't know if it's only because I made the game, but I'm always drawn back to it, playing until I beat the last boss, starting a new game, trying new combinations, trying to speedrun the game, taking my time to unlock all secrets. Really, I'm having a blast playing my own game, and this makes me very proud. I'm proud of the game, proud that I managed to bring such a long project to the end, and with so little resources too! This might not be an AAA title, but the small team here is very happy with the final product and even if it fails, we had fun making it, we have fun looking at it and more importantly, we have fun playing it!

It's been a long trip, but really, we hope you all enjoy King Cashing 2!

    Game history:
The idea for the first King Cashing came while playing Kairosoft's Game Dev Story. When making a Slots/RPG hybrid in the game, I wondered what that would look like in real life and thus King Cashing was born.

In the making for 8 months, King Cashing 2 brings the whole idea to a new level, both for new and veteran players of King Cashing. I really hope you'll enjoy the game! Thanks for playing!

Sooooooo excited! I have been following these updates for months and just popped in to check up! Of course I'll be checking the App Store, but can you also put a push notification on King Cashing when it is released? Or is that against the Push rules? Can't wait to get this game! :) ~ Julie

    Thanks everyone for your comments!

There is no push notifications in King Cashing 1 but there is a notification system that pops when you play the game. So if you still play King Cashing 1, you'll get a message about King Cashing 2 once it's out!

And we'll post the release date here once it's official too.

I'm really looking forward for the release date. I'll be monitoring the forums to answer any questions. I can't wait to hear all of the comments!

    Oh yeah!

    Yeah!

Cant wait for the game to come out. I am still playing the first one. The game is wicked fun and very clever.

The only problem i have is that whenever i transfer any game to a new device i have to start from scratch. This time this was a good thing as i realized the wheels have a constant pattern to them. My first playthrought I spent time managing my equipment and perks....now i work on my wheel timing. Changes the game a little for me.

    Hey multimage!
Awesome that it's finished, can't wait to get my hands on it!
Are you sure the 28th will be a good date to release? RR3 will be released worldwide then, and i'm afraid it will take away all focus of other games. The servers on TA could barely handle the soft launch.
It would be a shame to get snowed under by that piece of crap.
Up to you ofcourse, just saying this because i wish you all the best.
I for one will buy as soon as it hits the store.

We're not really afraid of the RR3 release. Free games and paid games are two different market shares and RPGs and racing games are also two different market shares.

Plus, all those anti-IAP people saying they'd rather buy a game could then buy King Cashing 2 to prove their point no? We'll be sure to say it to everyone complaining on that day: "Want to support an indie dev instead? Get King Cashing 2!"

But yeah we want to release the game soon and if we just keep waiting for a good time it'll never get released. So yeah, February 28th! :)
